Chapter 492: Meeting the City Lord

Chapter 492: Meeting the City Lord

With talks about Sages' disciples out of the way, Minerva immediately voiced out her concerns with a tinge of anticipation in her tone, "So what now? You have confirmed that those monsters that attacked our ship were indeed from the Sea Race, any plans Captain Joshua?"

"We'll continue this discussion once we return to the Port City since we also need the City Lord's opinions on this and since we have also sent a letter about this to the King, we'll need to wait for further instructions from His Majesty" replied Captain Joshua.

"Alright, we'll do that" Minerva replied and like the others, she was also a little disappointed that Captain Joshua didn't issue them any Quest.

Noticing their expressions, Captain Joshua immediately said, "Don't worry, once we arrive at the Port City. I'll get my men to repair your ship for free"

He clearly misunderstood them, but Minerva was delighted by the news since she had estimated before that the repair fee for their ship would cost a whopping 500 Gold Coins or maybe even more.

They might not have gotten a Quest but they at least managed to reduce further guild expenses.

After all, their ship isn't just any ordinary ship that can be fixed by just replacing the wooden planks on it. Since they would need a shipbuilder possessing the Skill [Magic Engineering] to repair it.

While the crew is on its way toward the port city, the news regarding the events that took place earlier has already long spread on the web and has garnered a lot of attention that some TV Stations dedicated to broadcasting anything noteworthy happening in the game are already talking about.

Some of the unfortunate players who died during the Emergency Rescue Quest are even being interviewed, but still, the most sought-after player is of course, Minerva and the executives of Flame Rose Guild as they were already bombarded with calls and emails after the incident and during their conversation with Captain Joshua.

After Captain Joshua and his crew went back to their ship, Minerva finally had the time to check her emails and the messages she was receiving all this while.

[Shinwa Media: This is the Shinwa Media Team and we are sending this e-mail in hopes of having an…]

[Fox Entertainment: Hello Guildmaster Minerva, we have contacted you today in hopes of..]

Various media outlets, big or small, and even influential people from the podcast industry have sent emails and inquired about a possible interview. Not only to her, but also to the other officers of their guild.

"What should we do about these companies inquiring about an interview from us?" Their cousin, Miya, curiously asked.

"Nothing, ignore them. Tell our guild members not to say anything until we can secure any noteworthy quest, either from the King or the City Lord of that port city. Failure to do so will result in an immediate expulsion from the guild and will be hunted down till they are reduce to Level 1" Minerva replied, imposing a gag order.

After relaying her orders through their guild channel, Maverick turned his attention back to his cousin and asked.

"Are we going to tell the others?"

Walking out of the Captain's quarters, Minerva replied, "What do you mean?"

With a shrug, Maverick said, "Shadow and his friends"

"The Revenants? I heard that most of them are busy though" Minerva said as she stood behind the ship's wheel.

"Yeah, but I heard from Dylan that Michael is now back though. Didn't you see the notification that he had gotten online a few hours ago?" Maverick said as he stood beside her.

"Shall we contact him then or should we arrange a get-together in case we receive the desired quest?" Maverick asked while watching Cereal Killer talking to some of the Naval Officers of the Navy.

"I think we should discuss this topic with Solitary Tempest instead of deciding it for ourselves. After all, aside from Dylan, she's the closest to those people and knows more about what's currently going on with their lives" Minerva replied while she made slight adjustments on the wheel.

"But let's continue this discussion later once we reach the city since she has already gotten offline" she added.

Fifteen minutes passed by in the blink of an eye and the small fleet finally reached the port dock, where the crew disembarked from their own ships in a merry atmosphere.

"Where are you guys heading to next?"

"I'm going to the blacksmith to purchase another set of armor and get my new weapon repaired. What about you guys?"

"I'm going to follow the players from Flame Rose Guild and see if they receive a quest from the city lord"

Numerous players disembarked from the ships as they chattered among themselves.

"Why bother? It's a waste of time. Let's just go catch some monsters after we're done with our matters man. Besides, we'll learn about it if they were successful if we check the forum later" said the Wizard in their party.

"No, what if it is a shared quest like the previous Undead Event?"

"So? We join! Why are you being stubborn? Not like there's a limit to it"

"Fine, you win, alright?"

"Gee, I think you just wanted to see more of Minerva! Haha!"

"S-shut up!"

Almost the same discussion was also happening among the other players as they also had party members who were too curious for their own good or just letting the monster between their pants control them.

With the entourage of Captain Joshua and his navy officers, Minerva, and her guild members made their way towards the castle of the City Lord while riding on a military carriage.

Following behind them is a group of curious players who want to have first-hand information about what might transpire later, like some kind of in-game paparazzi.

Ten minutes later, Minerva and her officers alongside Captain Joshua and his crew have arrived inside a large hall surrounded by Victorian-style windows, and standing before them on an elevated platform is a robust and bearded middle-aged man with a noticeable scar across his face and with a large broadsword leaning against his throne-like chair made of some kind of stone with similar patterns to that of Wootz Steel, or most commonly known as Damascus Steel.

"Count Farbius, these are the people from Flame Rose Guild and the woman standing beside me is their Leader, Minerva. They're the remaining survivors of their guild after their clash with the Sea Race and after we rescued them"
