Fat and Ugly Villainess Wins Back Her Five Beast Husband
Chapter 209: Arrogant Snake
Xavier noticed the varying degrees of anger on everyone’s faces and raised an eyebrow.
So what if he was smug?
He didn’t care in the slightest.
Especially when he noticed that the foolish Red Fox across from him was still staring at Sora, Xavier’s purple eyes narrowed dangerously.
He reached out and rubbed Sora’s chin a few more times, deliberately doing it right in front of Nick Wilde.
His purple eyes slanted upward as he looked at the Red Fox.
The warning couldn’t have been clearer.
The cold pressure radiating from a Rank Five Snake Beast was enough to make an ordinary beastman instinctively retreat.
Nick Wilde could clearly sense the difference in strength between them.
He was currently only a Rank Four Beastman.
He couldn’t compare with Xavier yet.
But that didn’t mean he was afraid.
As a Red Fox, intimidation was something Nick Wilde feared the least.
After all, the fox race was naturally intimidating. A fox’s roar alone was often enough to make weaker beasts tremble.
However, his current strength wasn’t enough for him to confront a Rank Five Beastman directly.
There was only one rank between them.
It wasn’t impossible to overcome.
What Mark had told him was right.
If he truly wanted Sora to notice him, the only thing he could do was cultivate and become stronger.
Females admired powerful Beastmen.
If he remained weak, then no matter how much he liked Sora, she probably wouldn’t even look at him twice.
Thinking about this, Nick Wilde gave Xavier another glance before calmly placing his bowl down.
He then turned toward Sora.
"Even though there are other people in the Tribe who can make pottery, I still think you make it best."
His gaze was sincere.
"Kaelira, I’ll wait for the day you personally teach me how to make pottery."
After saying that, Nick Wilde turned around and walked away.
He didn’t show even the slightest hint of fear.
Xavier’s eyes narrowed slightly.
This Red Fox actually had some backbone.
A trace of surprise appeared in his eyes.
It was a pity that Nick Wilde was interested in Sora.
Otherwise, Xavier might have been willing to become friends with him.
After Nick Wilde’s little interruption, the atmosphere around the round table still hadn’t completely settled down.
Xavier’s smug attitude had irritated more than one person.
Ace finally couldn’t stand it anymore.
He stomped his foot and glared at Xavier.
"Enough. He’s already gone. What are you still rubbing for?"
He pointed toward Sora’s chin.
"What if you rub the skin off Kaelira’s face?"
Xavier’s lips immediately curled into a mocking smile.
"Are you worried I’ll hurt Kaelira?"
His purple eyes shifted toward Ace.
"Or are you simply jealous because Kaelira belongs to me today?"
Ace’s expression darkened.
"Hmph."
He folded his arms.
"Xavier, I advise you not to get too arrogant. Everyone gets a turn. What exactly are you so proud of?"
"So what if I’m proud?"
Xavier’s smile became even more shameless.
"Either way, you’re destined not to get a taste today."
Ace nearly choked.
"You..."
Xavier leisurely continued, "What’s there to be proud of? When it’s my turn, let’s see whether you can still be this smug."
"Then we’ll talk when that day comes."
Xavier’s expression remained completely unbothered.
"But today, you’re out of luck."
Ace felt as though he was about to be infuriated to death by this stinking snake.
He couldn’t believe someone could be this shameless.
Finally, Lucas spoke.
His tone was calm, but his words carried a clear warning.
"You’d better be careful and not hurt the little cubs. Otherwise, the rest of us will never let you hear the end of it."
Ace immediately felt much better.
"Exactly."
He nodded seriously.
"My little cubs are still inside Kaelira. If anything happens to them, I won’t let you off."
Xavier raised an eyebrow.
"Don’t worry."
His tone was completely casual.
"We snakes have two eggs. It’s much more convenient than for you guys."
The moment those words came out, Ace’s face darkened again.
Could this stinking snake be any more shameless?
He even had the nerve to say something like that out loud!
And he wasn’t even worried about whether Sora’s body could handle it.
"Hmph."
Ace turned his head away.
"Anyway, if you hurt even a single hair on my little cubs, I’ll never forgive you."
Sora sat beside them with an expression of complete speechlessness.
What was wrong with these men?
Why were they acting like children? ℯℯ𝑙.
She wasn’t even showing yet.
The little cubs were still tiny embryos.
Yet these men were already arguing over them as though they had already been born.
Ryan remained silent, but there was a faint trace of concern in his eyes.
Xavier was rather overbearing.
He wasn’t sure whether the snake knew when to stop.
After thinking about it, Ryan finally gave him a calm reminder.
"Kaelira has been extremely tired lately. She needs to sleep properly."
Xavier was slightly surprised.
His relationship with Ryan hadn’t always been good.
In the past, the two of them had often clashed.
But ever since they had both become closer to Sora, their relationship had gradually softened.
Now Ryan was even reminding him to be careful for Sora’s sake.
Xavier couldn’t help feeling slightly touched.
He didn’t argue.
Instead, he nodded.
"Don’t worry. I’m not someone who doesn’t know how to control myself."
He paused before adding proudly, "After all, my snake eggs are also inside her belly."
Ryan’s mouth twitched.
Was that supposed to reassure him?
Lukan, however, wasn’t particularly worried.
He believed Sora would become an excellent Female Mother.
She was smart, careful, and protective.
There was no doubt in his mind that she would protect their little cubs properly.
Damien had also listened for a while.
Eventually, he found himself feeling bored.
These people only knew how to argue about the little cubs all day.
The key was Sora herself.
With Sora’s personality, who could truly outplay her?
He had already fallen into her hands twice.
And to this day, he still hadn’t managed to obtain a contract totem.
After finishing his little argument with Ace, Xavier hooked his long snake tail around Sora’s waist.
Before she could react, he lifted her.
Sora was still holding her bowl of yogurt.
"Xavier!"
Her eyes widened in horror.
"What are you doing?"
She hurriedly protected the bowl.
"Can’t you just talk normally? I haven’t finished my yogurt!"
She had nearly dropped it.
Xavier burst into hearty laughter.
"Then sit on my back and eat slowly."
His body rose higher.
"We still have some time before we arrive."
Only then did Sora realize something.
She was sitting on Xavier’s back.
And they were in mid-air.
Her eyes widened.
"Are you flying?"
She wasn’t surprised when Lucas in his could fly as a phoneix.
But Xavier was a Snake Beast.
How could a snake fly?
She had never seen him demonstrate this ability before.
Xavier curled his lips proudly.
"How about it?"
He deliberately tilted his head.
"I don’t fly any worse than that bird, do I?"
Sora immediately recognized the trap in his question.
This was clearly a no-win situation.
If she said yes, she would hurt his pride.
If she said no, she would probably have to listen to him boast for the next hour.
So Sora chose the safest possible answer.
She looked at the scenery below.
"The scenery is nice."
Xavier blinked.
That wasn’t the answer he wanted.
He was just about to ask again when Sora spoke first.
"But aren’t you a Snake Beast?"
She looked at him curiously.
"How can you fly? And why have I never seen you fly before?"
There were no wings on his body.
He wasn’t riding on clouds like some legendary dragon either.
Sora genuinely couldn’t understand how he was staying in the air.
Xavier swayed his long body through the air.
"I only discovered that I could fly after molting a few days ago."
"After molting?"
"Yes."
Xavier’s voice carried a hint of pride.
"Every time a snake molts, it’s like being reborn."
After completing his molt that day, he had initially assumed that he had simply grown another year older.
But the moment he moved his body, something strange happened.
His body suddenly rose into the air.
At first, Xavier had been startled.
He tumbled several times through the sky, expecting to fall.
But he didn’t.
Instead, he remained suspended in the air.
It was only after experimenting several times that he realized he could actually fly.
And there was another reason he had deliberately brought Sora into the sky.
He remembered that Sora didn’t particularly like seeing him crawl along the ground.
So when it was his turn to stand Night Watch, he deliberately took her into the air.
It was unfortunate that Lucas wasn’t here to see it.
Otherwise, Xavier could have proudly shown off in front of him.
Previously, Lucas had relied on his ability to fly to show off in front of Xavier.
Now Xavier could not only crawl but also fly.
He could finally get some revenge.
Sora looked around in amazement.
"This is incredible. I’ve never heard of a snake that can fly."
"To tell you the truth, this is my first time knowing it too."
Xavier paused.
"When I was little, though, I vaguely remember hearing a Priest mention a species called a Flying Snake. Apparently, they can also fly."
He tilted his head.
"I wonder if my Father was a Flying Snake."
Sora blinked.
"How can you not know what your own Father was?"
The moment she asked the question, Xavier’s previously proud expression changed.
The smile on his face faded.
His eyes became slightly distant.
"Because I’ve never seen him."
Sora froze.
She immediately regretted asking.
How could she have been so careless?
Of course there were circumstances where a person wouldn’t know their own Father.
Xavier had never spoken about his family.
She should have realized that there might be a reason.
"I’m sorry."
Sora’s voice softened.
"I didn’t mean it like that. I thought..."
"It’s okay."
Xavier interrupted gently.
His expression had already returned to normal.
"I know you didn’t mean anything by it."
He glanced back at her.
"After all, I’ve never told you about my Father."
Sora quietly looked at him.
For a moment, the playful and arrogant snake from earlier seemed to disappear.
What remained was a Beastman carrying a story she knew nothing about.
She didn’t ask any more questions.
Instead, she quietly finished the last spoonful of yogurt while sitting on his back.
The two of them continued flying through the sky.
And neither noticed that, far below them, several jealous Beastmen were probably already imagining ways to deal with the smug snake later.
