Fat and Ugly Villainess Wins Back Her Five Beast Husband
Chapter 184: Scheming Beast Husbands
"This trick again?"
Ace cried out the moment he saw the bamboo sticks on the table.
He thought Sora would simply call out their names or have them compete against one another—whoever won would be chosen first.
Instead, she was having them draw bamboo sticks again.
Last time, they had already been screwed over by this method.
Sora had chosen Ryan, and now she wanted to do it all over again.
Mo Xuan refused to agree, no matter what.
Who knew whether Sora had tampered with those bamboo sticks?
After all, she was now capable of mating with Lukan behind their backs. Since she could do something like that, Mo Xuan no longer trusted Sora as much as he used to.
Thinking of this, he immediately protested.
"This is unfair. I don’t agree."
If this was unfair, then there was no fairer way.
Everyone had a chance.
What exactly was Ace shouting about?
Sora looked at him and asked,
"How is it unfair? You’re all drawing them yourselves. I haven’t shown favoritism to anyone."
Ace’s eyes swept toward Lukan, who was sitting opposite him, before he spoke coldly.
"Who knows if you have your own selfish motives and did something to these bamboo sticks?"
If Sora intended to give the chance to Lukan, wouldn’t Lukan naturally be the first in line?
Sora was still carrying a little cub in her belly.
Right now, it didn’t matter too much.
Even if someone drew a later position, it wouldn’t have much impact because everyone would eventually have a chance to stay with Sora.
But what about later?
As Sora’s belly grew day by day, being further back in the queue would become more and more disadvantageous.
Who knew when she might stop allowing them to keep watch at night?
Calculated this way, the earlier one’s position was, the better.
Sora paused upon hearing this.
Ace actually suspected her.
One could say that in this matter, she was the person most burdened by it. Why would she bother tampering with anything?
However, once the seed of suspicion was planted, others naturally began to follow suit.
"I also feel this method isn’t quite right. We don’t know who draws first."
Lucas also expressed some doubt about the method Sora had proposed.
In the previous drawing, he had been the biggest victim among all of them.
Just because Sora had used that stone-picking method, he had ended up being the last of the five to get intimate with her.
If not for that, how could he have mated with Sora even later than that cold fish, Ryan?
What saddened him the most was that he had missed the chance to become a Beast Father because of it.
Therefore, it was impossible for him to like a method such as drawing lots.
Actually, after Sora had finished speaking, he had wanted to be the first to jump out and object.
But thinking about how Sora liked Lukan’s temperament, he had deliberately waited a little longer.
He waited until Ace finished speaking before raising his own objection.
That way, Sora wouldn’t be as repulsed by him.
Xavier heard this and nodded in agreement.
"Indeed. If we draw lots, we don’t know who goes first."
Although Xavier said this aloud, he also had doubts about the sticks in Sora’s hand.
Who knew whether she would secretly tamper with them for Lukan and make him the first?
Sora was somewhat speechless after hearing this.
Wasn’t it just about spending a night accompanying her?
Why were they making such a huge fuss over it?
Even who drew first and who drew last had become a major issue.
She curled her lips.
"If you’re not willing to draw yourselves, I’ll draw for you!"
She would draw all the bamboo sticks herself, and the order would be determined by whichever one she drew.
Since she would be the only one drawing from beginning to end, they should have no objections now.
Unexpectedly, the moment she finished speaking, several different voices rang out in unison.
"No!"
The voices were so loud that Sora couldn’t possibly ignore them.
She frowned.
"Isn’t this very fair? What’s wrong now?"
Since they didn’t know who should go first, she simply wouldn’t let them draw.
She would do it herself.
None of the Beast Husbands would be involved.
How could that not be fair?
Sora couldn’t understand what these people were thinking.
However, after she spoke, the several men around the table remained silent.
This made Sora even more annoyed.
She swept her gaze over them and said coldly,
"Didn’t you just say it was unacceptable? Why are you all silent now that I’m asking if you’re willing?"
Speak up?
Who would be stupid enough to expose Sora’s favoritism directly to her face and thereby admit that they were inferior to someone else?
Wouldn’t that be exposing their own shortcomings?
That person had already been smug enough that day.
They didn’t want him becoming even more smug.
Ace snorted inwardly and grumbled to himself. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ
Lucas had similar thoughts.
Who would be stupid enough to openly accuse Sora of favoring someone else?
They could voice their suspicions that she might have tampered with the sticks.
But when it involved a specific person, no one was willing to say it aloud.
Xavier’s thoughts were the same as Lucas’s and Ace’s.
He didn’t want to boost another man’s morale while undermining his own.
At this moment, Damien poked his head out from the tree and said with a grin,
"As I see it, they suspect you of being biased and secretly tampering with things for someone."
"Biased? Biased toward whom?"
Sora was stunned.
She genuinely didn’t understand where that accusation had come from.
"Who else could it be? Of course it’s—"
Before Damien could finish, he was interrupted by Xavier.
"No. Why is this bear still here? Keeping watch has absolutely nothing to do with you."
This Black Bear was truly a lingering spirit.
He spent all day instigating one thing or another.
Did those words really need to be spoken by him?
Besides, he wasn’t even one of Sora’s Beast Husbands.
Why was he making a mess here?
They had kicked him out after dinner, yet somehow he had managed to sneak back in.
As a highly possessive Snake Beast, Xavier absolutely couldn’t accept the possibility of Lukan being more important than himself in Sora’s heart.
That day in the wild grass, he had been so angry that his mind wasn’t clear, which was why he had been fooled by Lukan’s trickery.
After returning and thinking about it carefully, Xavier felt that Lukan wasn’t necessarily as well-liked by Sora as he had initially thought.
If Sora really liked him that much, she would have treated Lukan differently in their daily interactions.
Instead, she treated him almost the same way she treated the others.
To say that Lukan was a little special...
Perhaps he was.
However, just because Lukan could do something didn’t mean Xavier couldn’t do it himself.
He wanted Sora to have him completely in her heart.
And, most importantly, he wanted to be number one.
"Exactly. There’s no place for you here!"
Lucas immediately followed up by chasing Damien away.
The five of them were already enough trouble.
And now Damien actually wanted to join in?
With one less person, his own chances of winning would naturally become greater.
Besides, Sora herself hadn’t called Damien over.
She had already said that since he wasn’t her Beast Husband, it wasn’t appropriate for him to participate in the Night Watch.
Ace raised his eyelids and sneered even more at Damien, who was perched in the tree.
"Climbing so high up the tree, are you afraid you won’t hear? Too bad it’s none of your business even if you hear it. Who told you not to have a contract totem?"
Upon hearing this, Damien’s expression instantly became pitiful.
He looked at Sora beneath the tree and said,
"Kaelira, look. It’s because you won’t form a contract totem with me that they’re all bullying me."
He paused before grinning shamelessly.
"Let’s form the totem contract today!"
