Farming in a Parallel World and Becoming a God
Chapter 2797 - 1198: Development Dividends
Chapter 2797: Chapter 1198: Development Dividends
This wasn’t a problem for Gaven, who immediately sent out ten Shadow Walker Night Shadows.
These undead versions of Purple Worms don’t quite match their biological counterparts in tunneling, but they have their own exclusive advantage in excavating open channels.
Their bodies are like massive furnaces of Negative Energy, and they dissolve and transform a large part of the material they devour, randomly tossing the resulting waste into the Shadow Plane, making it a part of that plane’s composition.
Just like the Corpse Hounds and Death Stalkers are extensions of the Plains of Bone, these Night Shadows can also be considered a part of the Shadow Plane, existing to further the grand will of the plane.
The devouring of the Material Plane to replace it has always been the grand will of the Shadow Plane.
Rather than saying it’s the grand will of the Shadow Plane,
it’s more appropriate to say it’s the will of the Night Goddess Shar.
This twisted primordial deity has always regarded the Shadow Plane as her own preserve, as the front line of her eternal divine war with the Moon Goddess Suren.
The Shadow Demon Web she weaves there significantly influences the lives in that area, including the overarching will, causing the evil and aggressive tendencies to become increasingly severe.
Even forces as evil and aggressive as these can be transformed into building power in Gaven’s hands.
When digging mountain paths with Giant Insect Shadows, the step of transporting construction waste is omitted.
As for where the earth and rocks are discarded and whether this causes environmental pollution, no one is concerned.
In most people’s eyes, the Dark Plane is a place of terror and evil to be avoided, with no one willing to approach.
With these divine artifacts to clear the way, time is the only remaining issue.
The last path is named the March Tunnel, which currently exists only in presentations and hasn’t been put into action.
Gaven plans to excavate a tunnel running east-west under the Marching Mountains.
The benefits of this are numerous.
First, it will connect the Earth City with Mesnoel, forming an irregular triangle with Darama.
This area will become the core region of Darama, with control significantly enhanced.
Secondly, it will greatly enhance control over the Marching Mountains.
Long ago, Gaven knew that another world existed underground in both Thacel and the Karinshan Region, with many residents and cities.
However, he didn’t realize just how many cities and residents there were here, with the Marching Mountains being a major disaster zone.
His previous joint layout of the earth veins network with the Earth Bear naturally brought many additional benefits, which were not coincidental but inevitable.
As for the dozen or so Purple Worms mentioned previously by the tunnel builder Casirio, most were not wild but were owned.
The implications of this require no further explanation.
The world is never short of smart people, and just as Gaven realized the worms’ utility in tunnel excavation, the underground residents naturally understood and would make full use of it.
Casirio’s Purple Worm Family, even without control, easily excavated a vast Dark Domain accommodating hundreds of thousands of Mushroom People; under human control, they could perform even more dynamically.
Who knows how many dark tunnels and underground cities and secret exits these underground races have excavated here over countless ages?
Some underground cities are under the control of the Master of the Masked’s followers, while others, like these Mushroom People, are relatively isolated.
Still, more are controlled by the followers of the Spider Queen Rose. In Felen’s largest Dwarves City, Guadus City, it’s said to be located at the western end of the Marching Mountains, near the Karin Desert underground.
The ruling council of that Dwarves City reportedly consists of twenty-one families.
Anyone even slightly familiar with the traits of Dwarves Elf Cities would know that is an explosive number.
The more families in a Dwarves City, the more severe their internal conflicts, and through survival of the fittest, the more elite and powerful they become.
If they even slightly reduced internal strife, their outward power would be terrifying.
The reason there are so many Dwarves Cities here underground
is firstly because this region once belonged to the Dwarven Empire Shanata, and they have already dug countless tunnels here over thousands of years, laying a solid foundation suitable for intelligent life. 𝘧𝓇ℯℴ𝓂
Secondly, both Thacel and the Karinshan Region were originally the ancestral lands of the Dwarves Elf before their descent.
Prior to their descent, the Dwarves Elf appeared little different from regular Elves.
They claim their enemies cursed them with Elf High Magic, darkening their skin and rendering their eyes unable to withstand the sun’s searing, forcing them to seek shelter in caves or be active at night.
This is the Dwarves Elf’s own account.
The surface Elves, however, have another historical tale, saying it wasn’t their ancestors who cursed their kin, but rather they were influenced by the descent of the deity they worship, the Spider Queen Rose, leading to assimilation.
More people believe the latter tale over the former.
Not out of racial prejudice, but because the latter is more self-consistent, explaining why those curses were so precise, targeting solely the followers and supporters of the Spider Queen Rose.
This intelligence, of course, comes from the believers of the God of Masks Velen.
