Gu Fei smiled, then with the air of a seasoned master, she casually brushed non-existent dust from her skirt. She gave Young Master Zhou a fist-and-palm salute before turning and heading back into the inn.

Young Master Zhou stood at the door, mouth agape, still in a daze. Suddenly, he spun around and bolted toward his own shop, shouting as he ran, "Wife! Wife! This is incredible—"

He burst into the shop and made a beeline for the back courtyard.

Hearing the commotion, Sister Dan came out of her room. "What are you shouting about? Xiu just fell asleep."

Young Master Zhou skidded to a halt. "No, it’s—that Little Fei—"

"Oh? You’ve only known her a few days, and now she’s your ’little sister’?" Sister Dan quipped, her usual jealousy showing.
