Fantasy Lord: Beginning with Daily Intelligence
Chapter 708 398: Ancient Tree of Life, Life Fruit (Part 2)
"Who bought it?"
The old man's eyes narrowed, and he couldn't help but speak out.
"I'm not sure, it seems to be a young noble who just arrived in Walt City."
"But his power is strong; he should have already reached the Divine Domain."
The woman shook her head and spoke in a deep voice.
"New arrival?"
"Alright then, Catherine, take ten thousand gold coins, and that item, and visit that noble's location to have a look."
"If you really see something, you can entrust that matter to him."
The old man pondered for a moment, then spoke.
"Alright!"
The woman hesitated slightly, then nodded in agreement.
Thor naturally knew nothing of this at the moment.
The daily intelligence refreshes matters related to him, but aside from crises, not everything is guaranteed to appear.
After all, there are only ten pieces of daily intel.
It's impossible to cover everything about him in those ten pieces.
This time, it was naturally one of those things.
His silhouette carrying the Demon Beast Egg quickly returned to his residence.
Meanwhile, Steve and Pelos also finished preparing personnel.
But just as he was about to set out.
A fiery red woman delivered an invitation.
"Catherine Ianlep!"
"From the Ianlep Family?"
Thor was a bit surprised.
He was somewhat familiar with this family.
It was once a prominent family in the Canaan Empire.
Ten thousand years ago, also one of the human heroes.
But a thousand years ago, the family was similarly destroyed in a turmoil, and the continent they inhabited shattered. Though they are still prestigious in the Empire today, they're no longer one of the strongest families.
The strongest in the family seems to be just a Middle Rank God.
For the Kingdom, this strength is strong enough, but for a major family, this strength is considered weak.
Thor was surprised because he and the Ianlep Family seemed to have no dealings or familiarity; why would they seek him out?
Despite his doubts, Thor still allowed Steve to invite her in.
When the familiar fiery red armored woman walked in, Thor's eyebrows raised.
"Is it you?"
He looked somewhat surprised.
"Sir, I apologize for the unsolicited disturbance, please do not mind."
Catherine spoke respectfully.
"No need for such politeness, Knight Catherine. I'm curious as to why you're seeking me; is there anything I can assist with?"
Thor shook his head, then spoke.
He directly got to the point; he wasn't in the mood for small talk.
"It's like this, sir. Didn't you purchase a Demon Beast Egg from us earlier? I'd like to spend a hundred thousand gold coins to buy it back. How about that?"
Catherine spoke earnestly.
"Buy it back?"
Thor's eyebrows raised, showing some confusion.
"Yes, that Demon Beast Egg, you might not know, is an Earth Spirit Dragon egg whose vitality is almost at its end. Keeping it won't be of much use. But to compensate for your loss, we're willing to use a hundred thousand gold coins to buy it back."
Catherine spoke again.
Listening to Catherine's explanation, Thor was thoughtful.
He didn't believe a word from the counterpart's speech.
Clearly, the other party knew from the start.
If they didn't want to sell or had concerns, they wouldn't have agreed initially.
Not to mention saying it now.
"Knight Catherine, what if I don't wish to part with it?"
Thor took a deep breath, speaking slowly while staring at Catherine.
Listening to Thor's words, Catherine's expression showed a significant and concealed fluctuation.
"We can negotiate the price, how about five hundred thousand gold coins?"
"And if you don't believe, we can ascertain it."
Her changing expression quickly softened as Catherine's words rang out again.
"Knight Catherine, why don't you tell me the true purpose of your visit? I don't have time to waste here."
Thor gently knocked on the table, looking at the fiery armored woman and speaking in a deep voice.
Just as he said, he didn't have time for evasiveness.
"Sigh!"
"I understand!"
"Sir, may I ask boldly, did you realize the nature of this egg, and do you have the certainty of hatching it?"
Catherine was startled by Thor's words but took a deep breath and spoke slowly.
"What if I do? What if I don't?"
Thor raised his eyebrows, the thoughts in his head churning as he spoke.
"If not, then please part with it. We're willing to offer one million gold coins."
"If so, I'd like to make a trade with you."
Catherine nodded and spoke again.
"One million gold coins, that's quite generous."
"Tell me, what trade do you propose?"
Thor chuckled lightly without further entanglement and spoke another sentence, offering a response.
He held no grudge against the Ianlep Family.
If it's reasonable enough, he wouldn't mind engaging in a trade.
Listening to Thor's words, Catherine's formerly tense expression visibly relaxed, and a trace of joy appeared on her face.
"Sir, have you heard of the Ancient Tree of Life deep within the Demon Beast Mountain Range?"
Catherine took a deep breath and spoke slowly.
"The Ancient Tree of Life, I've heard of it!"
Thor nodded slightly.
"Well, I seek to trade with you for the Ancient Tree of Life."
"You should know the Ancient Tree of Life emits Essence of Life every thousand years while also producing new Life Fruit. I need one Life Fruit. If you can obtain it, I can offer divine techniques from the Ianlep Family and ten million gold coins, or a Tier Six Demon Beast Egg as compensation. What do you think?"
Catherine proposed.
Even Thor raised an eyebrow upon hearing her proposal.
Divine Techniques, he knew, belonged to Deities' combat techniques, each extremely precious and often priceless. Most Deities don't even possess divine techniques.
Not to mention ten million gold coins or a Tier Six Demon Beast Egg.
If this information gets out, not only Walt City but the entire continent will be in an uproar.
"Knight Catherine, excuse my boldness, since you know, obtaining the Life Fruit shouldn't be difficult, why ask me? Though my strength is decent, I haven't yet reached godhood, and may not have the ability."
Thor furrowed his brows and spoke.
"Sir, you are unaware, the Ancient Tree of Life on the Yulan Continent may lack elves, but it's still inaccessible to ordinary people. Only those who comprehend the Life Law can enter. Currently, in the continent, only the Elf Queen has comprehended the Life Law, and she can't be swayed by us."
Catherine smiled bitterly and spoke helplessly.
Thor nodded slightly.
Now he understood the situation.
"I can help you acquire a Life Fruit, but the terms need adjustment. I require specific rules for divine techniques, preferably ice, death, thunder, or life, and I can forgo the ten million gold coins, but Tier Six Demon Beast grade is too low. Make it Tier Seven, at least Tier Seven."
Thor spoke slowly, directly stating his conditions.
He wasn't making excessive demands.
He considered his circumstances and made a decision.
First, regarding divine techniques.
He currently mastered four laws; even if given divine techniques from other laws, he probably wouldn't make use of them, so why waste?
As for the Demon Beast, as he mentioned, Tier Six is too low.
Since it's a trade, such a low-grade item isn't suitable.
"Please wait, I need to return once."
"Within an hour, I'll surely have a response for you, how about that?"
Catherine furrowed her brows slightly, but didn't refuse and spoke softly.
"Alright, but you need to hurry; otherwise, I might not wait for you!"
Thor nodded and also did not refuse.
This trade posed no disadvantage to him, as he needed to visit the Ancient Tree of Life to comprehend the Life Law.
