"Hmm, hmm, hmm, hmm, na, na, na, na and blah, blah, blah blah..."

Angel hummed happily as she sat on the couch with her daughter, Lucy May, on her lap. She was busy doing the little girl’s hair and getting her ready for bed, taking her time to make sure every strand was in place. Lucy May, however, seemed more interested in telling her mother about everything she had done that day than sitting still. Angel had to shut up and listen to her little daughter’s adventures..

April was sitting by her work desk, occupied with work, but she was already home for the evening, just need to recheck some work. No matter how busy her schedule became, she always made sure to return home by five o’clock. If she had anything important left to do, she preferred to finish it at home rather than spend extra hours at the office. She knew how much it meant to her darling wife, Angel to have her home early, and she respected that feeling enough to make it her number one priority.

Even when work occasionally delayed her, April would look out of the window and find her Alpha wife and daughter waiting to pick her up. It had become such a familiar sight that she could hardly imagine ending a workday without seeing their adorable faces waiting for her. No matter how many responsibilities she had, home was still where she wanted to be, and she had no intention of allowing her work to take away too much time from her family.

Meanwhile, Lucy May was still happily telling Angel about her playtime with her friends, Alpha Angelo and his little Omega sister, Daisy, who was still only a few months old. The twins and Katie had nearly named their second child April as her first name, but Katie eventually let the idea go and made April as Daisy’s middle name instead. It was their own little way of thanking Angel and April for bringing them together, and neither couple had forgotten what the other had done for them, especially Katie.

Angel, on the other hand, had never been particularly fond of hearing Sabrina or Carlos call their son Angel, so they had changed his name to Angelo to avoid confusing the two. Since then, Lucy May had grown close to both children, and she spent most of her days playing with them, creating adventures together. They had become her favourite playmates, and she always seemed to have another story to tell whenever she returned home.

"Okay, Lulu. It’s time for bed."

April had finally finished her work and turned her attention to her family. She got up from her desk and joined them, taking Lucy May from Angel’s lap before carrying the little girl to her bedroom. After tucking her into bed, April made sure she was very comfortable, and it wasn’t long before Lucy May’s eyes grew heavy and she drifted off to sleep.

With their daughter finally asleep, Angel and April returned to their own bed for the night.

Angel lay with her head resting on her pregnant wife’s lap, completely content as she kissed April’s baby bump and talked to the little one growing inside. She had a habit of doing that whenever she got the chance, as though the baby could already understand every word she said. April, meanwhile, had settled down with her novel, enjoying the family moment with her wife beside her.

They had barely spent much time talking when April suddenly remembered something she had heard.

"Papi, do you hear the news?" she asked, looking down at Angel.

"Is it the news about a goat eating a snake? That’s like an impossible..." Angel began, sounding genuinely interested for a moment.

"No, not that one, that is made by the Internet. It’s about an explosion in the US, River West City. The district..." April explained.

"Oh, I had no idea about that. Is there anything else?" Angel asked casually, showing little interest in the news.

"Nothing much. Our parents and the people we know are fine. Someone mentioned that they were targeting the Goodland building but failed."

"Maybe a hater. It would have been better if they had actually succeeded." Angel shrugged before lifting her head to look at her wife. "Let’s talk about something else. Whatever is happening in that place isn’t our concern. No one there cares about us anyway." She paused, a bright smile spreading across her face as she moved on to something she actually wanted to discuss. "What are you doing tomorrow? Do you want to go to that fun park the Martinez family recently opened?"

Angel flashed her teeth at her wife, looking up at her from her lap with the kind of excitement that made it difficult to refuse her anything.

April simply stared at her for a moment. Her wife had always avoided conversations about River West City and the Morningstar district, and it sometimes seemed as though she had chosen to forget everything connected to those places. Whenever the subject came up, Angel would brush it aside and find something else to talk about, just as she had done now.

April could have asked more questions, but she knew her wife well enough to recognise when she didn’t want to discuss something. Instead, she smiled and leaned down to kiss her, deciding that she would rather enjoy the peaceful life they had built together than spoil the moment by pressing the matter.

As long as Angel was happy, April was happy too. Her wife and children were her first priority, and nothing mattered more to her than the family they had created.

"Fine. I will call in tomorrow and inform them that I am busy with my wife," April said with a playful smile.

Angel immediately returned her kiss, clearly pleased with the answer. Before long, the two of them were too busy enjoying each other’s company to think about anything else, and they ended up making love through the night.
