Falling For My Alpha Stepsister (GL)
Chapter 137: Angel Leaves The Morningstar
Angel only wanted to inform her mother about the serious consequences of dealing with Anita Goodman.
She didn’t know what kind of dangerous drug the Goodland Company was going to be selling this time, but anything coming directly from Anita was bound to be trouble. That Alpha never meant any good for anyone but her own selfish self.
Angel was heading straight to the private cabin where her mother was staying, but then she suddenly spotted her standing in a small event hall alongside April’s mom and a few other rich guests. It was a small, high-class party. Even Madam and Javier were standing in the corner holding drinks.
Angel barged straight inside without knocking.
"I need to talk to my mother right now," Angel announced, her voice cutting right through the background music.
Ms. Morningstar definitely wasn’t expecting Angel to be on this cruise ship. She knew her daughter usually never involved herself in any of her business matters. But as far as her mother was concerned, this was actually good timing. She wanted to introduce Angel to her future wife..
"Mr. Hale, this is my daughter, Angel Morningstar," the Master said smoothly, introducing her daughter to a tall, bald man standing nearby.
Standing right beside the bald man was a young Omega girl. Angel didn’t even bother to glance at the girl for a second. Her sharp eyes were entirely focused on her mother, demanding her immediate attention.
"Good evening, Young Master. This is my daughter, Bailey Hale," the mayor said politely, offering a small smile.
Angel acted as if the city mayor wasn’t even talking to her at all. She simply stood her ground and quietly asked her mother again for her full attention.
The mother and daughter stepped aside into a quieter corner, still remaining inside the hall.
"What do you actually want right now, Angel?" her mother asked....
"The Goodland building should be demolished immediately," Angel said, looking her mother dead in the eyes.
"And why on earth would I do that?"
"You’ve already heard the rumors about their past business deals," Angel explained quickly. "Their new drugs are serious trouble, and if they start actively distributing those drugs throughout the district, it will not end well for anyone."
Before Angel could even finish talking, her mother turned her head and called out across the room to Madam. Madam instantly stopped what she was doing and walked right over to where the mother and daughter were standing.
"Angel is talking about the internal matters of the district," Ms. Morningstar said coldly to Madam. "Listen to whatever she has to say. I have far more important things to do right now than standing here listening to a retard."
All Angel was trying to do was genuinely warn them about the dangerous people they were doing business with, and her own mother just acted like everything Angel was saying made absolutely no sense.
Angel might not have had massive stacks of physical evidence to prove her claim on the spot, but why dismiss the young Alpha so easily?
When Madam waited patiently to hear what the Young Master had to say, Angel was already completely done trying to explain herself to these people. She turned on her heel and followed her mother across the room.
"I’m trying to tell you something that could literally endanger what you love most in this world, and you just dismiss me like I’m a complete nobody!" Angel yelled after her.
"Angel, you are nothing," her mother said, stopping in her tracks and turning back with a cold glare. "Just because you happen to have my blood in your veins or the last name does not mean you have any say in my business."
"I don’t fucking care about your business!" Angel growled back, her jaw clenching tight. "All I care about are the innocent people your stupid business is going to put in danger!"
"You are the real danger to the district," Ms. Morningstar spat back, stepping closer into her face. "I spent 25 long years trying to groom you into a proper leader, but you just render yourself completely useless every single time. And today, you are just standing in a corner trying to tell me how to run my business. Angel, go home right now. You are not welcome here."
Ms. Morningstar turned her back on Angel and casually continued talking with the political guest and his daughter.
"You are the useless one," Angel said back loudly, her deep voice ringing across the entire hall and catching the instant attention of her mother and everyone else standing inside the room.
"You are a terrible parent," Angel continued, stepping forward as the room fell dead silent. "You are a terrible wife. You groomed me? That is all total lies! The only time you were ever ought to be there for me was whenever I was making a bad impression on your precious brand!"
Her mother froze, but Angel didn’t stop.
"When I got good grades at school, when I won first place in those swimming competitions, you never showed up for me once! You never stayed home when I begged you to read me bedtime stories or have a simple dinner with me and mom! You were never there for me as a kid! The only time you ever bothered to show up was when I did bad things that threatened your stupid legacy!"
Angel raised her voice completely at her mother, her chest heaving with raw anger.
Seeing the intense scene unfold, Javier quickly stepped in to calm down the young Alpha, reaching out his hand to touch Angel’s shoulder.
"Angel, calm down," Javier whispered urgently. "There are very important political people inside this hall."
Angel didn’t hesitate for a split second. She threw a fast, heavy right hook straight into the middle-aged man’s face.
Thwack!
"The next time you dare touch my shoulder, I will be hacking it off," Angel warned the man coldly, standing over Javier as he stumbled back, wiping fresh blood from his lip.
Ms. Morningstar grabbed Angel violently by her shirt collar and forcefully dragged her out of the party hall into the private corridor outside. The moment they reached the empty hallway, Ms. Morningstar raised her palm and slapped Angel hard right across the face.
Slap!
Javier, Madam, and Eleanor all rushed out into the hallway right behind them to watch the confrontation.
"I have had completely enough of this disgraceful attitude of yours!" Ms. Morningstar raised her voice, her eyes burning with rage. "If you were not my biological daughter, I would have thrown you out onto the street years ago!"
"Throw me out then!" Angel screamed right back into her face, not backing down an inch. "I never wanted you as my mother anyway! You are a cold, unfaithful cheater! My mom spent her entire life trying to build a real home with you, but all you ever did was leave her completely hollow and broken inside, and because of that she is not longer here with me!"
Her mother’s eyes widened slightly, but Angel kept going, letting out years of built-up pain.
"I hate you," Angel whispered, her voice trembling with pure hatred. "I hate you with every single bone in my body. I am completely done being a Morningstar. While your precious little empire falls all the way to the ground, I will be basking in my absolute freedom."
Angel turned her shoulder away to walk down the hallway.
"Do you really think you can survive in this harsh world without my powerful name?" Ms. Morningstar called out after her with a cruel smirk. "It won’t even take three days for you to come crawling right back to the mansion."
Angel stopped her steps for a brief second, turning her head back over her shoulder.
"I won’t ever come back," Angel said softly, her eyes clear and steady. "Never again. I have my soulmate with me now, and I will do all the beautiful things you failed to do with my mom."
And with those final words ringing through the corridor, Angel walked away without looking back once.
