Evolving My Undead Legion In A Game-Like World
Chapter 1310 Arrival [1]
Upon hearing Lily's suggestion, a trace of reluctance welled up in Timi's heart.
Compared to Lily, whom he felt a bit comfortable around, Timi genuinely disliked interacting with strangers unless it was necessary.
And Lily wasn't asking him to meet just anyone.
She wanted him to meet the mysterious cousin she'd repeatedly praised since the day they first met.
That alone made Timi considerably more cautious.
Nevertheless, the reluctance in his heart had nowhere to go and nowhere to grow.
The possibility Lily had just placed before him was too important to reject simply because he disliked meeting strangers.
If her cousin's Universal Cornerstone truly provided a means of reaching the Land of Origin, the possibility of gaining permission to use it was worth enduring some discomfort.
There was also the matter of the Universal Cornerstone Fragments.
Lily intended to obtain something from her cousin in exchange for them anyway. Whether Timi accompanied her or waited in Evergreen Haven, the mysterious cousin had already become involved in their transaction.
Meeting him directly might even be simpler.
Timi finally gave Lily a small nod.
Lily's expression immediately brightened.
With the matter settled, she resumed heading toward the subsidiary station, this time with Timi actually following her rather than merely happening to walk in the same direction.
They hadn't gone particularly far when another familiar figure appeared ahead of them.
Arianne was walking in their direction.
Her green eyes first settled on Lily before naturally shifting toward the person beside her.
Timi immediately felt the same faint discomfort he'd experienced earlier.
Arianne wasn't doing anything. Yet something about her continued to make his instincts unusually alert.
He didn't know why, but he felt a pair of sharp eyes settle on him the moment she glanced his way.
Arianne soon stopped before the two of them.
After learning that Lily intended to take Timi to meet Michael, a trace of caution appeared in Arianne's eyes.
Arianne's reaction was hardly unreasonable.
From her perspective, Timi was a stranger Lily was strangely close with.
But that was all it was.
Discomfort toward a stranger.
She had no actual issue with him.
If she wasn't mistaken, this was probably the Awakener Lily occasionally mentioned whenever they talked about her first experiences in the Origin Battlefield.
Considering how comfortable Lily appeared around Timi, there was little doubt this was the same person.
With that realization, Arianne saw little reason to interfere.
Lily was capable of choosing her own friends, and there was no need for Arianne to become unnecessarily overprotective simply because someone was unfamiliar to her.
More importantly, their destination made excessive caution almost pointless.
Between Michael himself and his undead, it was difficult to imagine a worse place for someone to attempt anything malicious.
He didn't know why, but he felt a pair of sharp eyes settle on him the moment she glanced his way.
Arianne soon stopped before the two of them.
If Timi could somehow enter the Eternal Crown, cause trouble under Michael's nose, accomplish whatever malicious objective he had, and still escape afterward, then whatever happened was probably destined to happen.
With that, Arianne no longer troubled herself over it.
Meanwhile, Michael, whose original body was currently in his territory in the fourth layer, had no idea his cousin was about to bring him a surprise.
Currently, he was on the wall bordering the outer territory.
The wall beneath him was enormous.
Two figures sat near the edge.
One was Michael.
The other was Wisdom.
Wisdom was Michael's only tamed beast.
More importantly, among every creature currently under Michael's command, Wisdom was the only one, excluding Lyra, that wasn't undead, and that could truly be described as a pure creature of the Void.
That distinction could be seen from its appearance alone.
Michael's influence on the creatures connected to him had always been unusually obvious.
His undead were the clearest examples.
Even creatures that had originally looked nothing like him could eventually develop certain recognizable characteristics after repeated evolutions.
The most obvious were the signature green eyes.
Wisdom was different.
No matter how many times Michael had mixed his blood essence into the materials used during its evolutions, the Void creature stubbornly retained most of its original characteristics.
Its eyes remained silver.
There was hardly a trace of green within them.
The only obvious sign Michael's influence had managed to leave appeared whenever Wisdom returned to its true monster form.
Beyond that, Wisdom remained relatively "pure."
Michael found the resistance somewhat interesting.
It wasn't as though Infinite Evolution had failed to affect Wisdom. Its growth alone proved otherwise.
Rather, its fundamental existence seemed unusually stable.
It showed that even with his god physique and blood no longer purely red, Michael held no real superiority over Wisdom.
Michael could only wonder what it would become at Legendary Grade.
Currently, Wisdom was still an Epic ★★★ Grade creature, the second to reach it after Jester.
For a considerable period, Jester and Wisdom had stood alone in that regard.
That was no longer the case, of course.
Several members of Michael's legion, all of his engraving tattoos aside from Beginning and the undead high drake, had reached Epic ★★★.
Still, there was a difference, since Jester and Wisdom were the only two who had reached Epic ★★★ without first reaching Level 100, which made Michael occasionally wonder what would happen if he evolved either of them again.
Would they merely become Legendary Grade while remaining within their present Major Rank?
Or would the qualitative transformation involved in reaching Legendary Grade forcibly push their existence upward as well?
The possibility wasn't low.
Grade and Rank weren't the same thing, but Michael had seen more than enough by now to understand that they weren't completely independent either.
Wisdom sat beside Michael peacefully, munching on the piece of chicken in his hands.
Compared to most of Michael's undead, Wisdom's current human appearance was unusually young.
The majority of Michael's intelligent undead who possessed human forms tended to appear somewhere in their twenties. There were exceptions, of course. Some appeared considerably older due to the foundation of their original bodies, while others simply preferred a more mature appearance.
Wisdom stood at the opposite extreme.
Among all the monsters bonded to Michael, it had the youngest-looking human form.
