Evolution Online: My 10,000× Reward System Multiplies Everything
Chapter 182: Starter Pack Loot Bundle
[Book of Kaelen (Transcendant): Grants +50% Evolution Points from quests, cultivation, and all kinds of kills. Permanently.]
"..."
The description was simple, yet loud enough to drown out every other noise around Kaelen.
"Plus fifty-percent... permanently?" He mumbled slowly.
The hidden final boss had given Kaelen 16 trillion evolution points thanks to the 10,000× Reward System. Did that mean he would’ve received 24 trillion evolution points instead with the Book of Kaelen?
In a day where he made an average of 10 trillion Evolution Points from cultivating, did that mean he’ll start to make 5 trillion extra with no cost attached?
Kaelen had asked for strength and got the 10,000× Reward Multiplier System. He had asked for more evolution points and had gotten the Eternal Myriad Scripture. He had asked for even more strength and now had the Transcendant Book of Kaelen.
An item at the peak of its existence that bore his very own name.
What were the odds?
Coincidence? I think not.
Just when Kaelen seemed to have figured out his system, it did something that completely shattered his knowledge of it.
Was the system designed to give him what he needed? Was it the doing of his mother? How exactly was a system created, and what laws did it follow?
His mother wasn’t here to answer these questions now, leaving Kaelen to figure them out on his own.
Was there something else inside him that influenced his system? The Atreus bloodline that should be dormant in his veins?
Maybe Emir was right. The Atreus family had been built on lies, and maybe, just maybe, the male children were built differently, so they risked exposing the bloodline abilities to the rest of the world, hence why they eliminated every male child.
Kelsey had seen something inside him that made her make such comments about ignoring his special abilities. But then, if she really saw that it was the power to control the Atreus bloodline, shouldn’t that be cause for alarm? Yet, she acted like it was a normal circumstance.
Kaelen could wait ten floors to discover what it was during the next ability selection, or he could discover it right now.
He took out the Fate-Rewriting Pill and raised it to his face.
On second thought, there was no rush. Even if it turned out to be the Atreus bloodline ability, there was no use for it now except learning its ropes and activating it to create his very own system, which he had no idea how to do.
Patience was the key. The pill was too useful to give up on now.
He exhaled softly and returned the pill to his inventory.
He still couldn’t stop thinking about the possibility, so he chose to busy himself with reviewing the rest of the loot.
The Mount of the Supreme War Emperor was self-explanatory and came as an obsidian summoning card with the illustration of a nightmare mount that had similarities to a horse from the Strongholds, except it was as dark as the night, with what looked like vitiligo spread thin across its body, resembling the night sky.
It looked terrifying, and though Kaelen never thought he’d need a mount, he didn’t hesitate to pour mana into the card to summon the war beast.
Kaelen half expected the beast to materialize and shatter the cabin with its imposing height, when a sharp burning sensation, like a thousand needles poking into his skin, radiated from the center of his upper back.
Kaelen couldn’t see behind his back or reach for anything behind his back, so he immediately activated Infinite Mana and spread his mana perception behind him.
What he saw stunned him.
It was a central, sharp geometric crest—an obsidian imperial crown merged seamlessly with the skull profile of a monstrous, armoured beast.
The exact same one from the obsidian summoning card.
It was a tattoo.
"..."
What the hell?
"It kinda looks cool, though... but what happened to consent?!"
It was only now that he realized he was covered in sweat, and when he focused on the tattoo behind his back, he could feel the beast inside him breathing like a slumbering dragon.
He exhaled softly.
"I guess it’s not so bad to have a powerful mount now that I’ve lost my Koenigsegg."
He didn’t dwell on it and moved on to the next item.
[Advanced Hearthstone (Primordial): Teleport back to the main hub or lobby outside combat. Zero-cooldown.]
"Huh?"
The description was simple, yet confusing.
A hearthstone that could teleport him back to the lobby at zero cost or cooldown. But from where exactly?
It couldn’t possibly be from across worlds during the short-term break, when candidates were expected to return for the next ten floors. A summoning ritual was conducted for all of them by the dungeon itself, and they were to choose whether to return or drop out permanently. Which left only the tower floors.
Did that mean Kaelen could quit the floors at any point in time as long as there was no aggro on him, to return to the lobby and re-enter the floor again, now with a better understanding?
As long as he hadn’t used up his 3-day Visa card, that seemed viable. And if that were the case, then Kaelen could confidently attempt clearing the floors alone and run back at the slightest hiccup.
The Advanced Hearthstone was a priceless jewel, and though it had been specially upgraded, the rest had received a similar item that might come with a few limitations.
Even at that, it was still valuable enough to risk your life in the first floor’s Hell’s Mode just to get your hands on it.
Kaelen was only halfway through the Starter Pack and was already impressed. He had absolutely made the right choice by staying behind.
He shifted his focus to the next item on the list.
[100,000-Slot Burlap Backpack (Primordial): Expands inventory capacity beyond default starting limits to avoid frequent vendor trips.]
Now, one might think this was a useless item when the tower system panel came with an inbuilt inventory. But if you were to look back on what happened at the introduction with the old inventory ban, one would understand it was likely going to happen during the next ability selection.
Kaelen had been caught off guard the first time, but next time, he was going to be moving like Elyndra, except his backpack would be filled with valuable items and not garbage.
[Excellent-grade Health & Mana Elixirs (×20): Excellent consumables to eliminate early-to-late-battle downtime between mob pulls.]
The next items were the Health and Mana Elixirs, which Kaelen had lost behind the inventory of his old system. But now, he had at least 10 of each, which should carry him if he used them sparingly and if all went well.
One per floor until the tenth floor.
The last but not the least item on the list was:
[God Slayer Weapon Set (Primordial): High-tier weapon tailored to chosen class (+100% Attack Power) that scales slightly with user.]
Kaelen’s eyes widened on reading the description.
"+100% attack power? Scales with user?" He blurted in disbelief.
It was a Primordial-tier weapon token that might be weaker than his Supreme-tier Heaven-Splitting Twin Blades. But it had the potential to surpass them by a far margin and grow with Kaelen until the end of time.
No matter how powerful he became, he wouldn’t need a new set of weapons to face off against stronger enemies.
The God Slayer Weapon Set was the real deal, and though the +100% attack power was tempting, he was going to keep it until his Supreme-tier Heaven-Splitting Twin Blades couldn’t carry him any further.
That was it for the Starter Pack item list, and all Kaelen could say was:
Impressive.
There were no trash items there, and everything had its importance and use in the long run.
Kaelen almost laughed excitedly, but he wasn’t done yet.
That was just the tip of the iceberg, and now it was time to unbox his reward from Kelsey.
