Evolution: From Little Devil to Devil Empress
Chapter 767: Fallen Angels' Conspiracy
The structure of the lion statue was perfect—that was something Liora had long since realized.
Yet the more she studied the statue, the more perfect it seemed to her.
Every line and structure was seamlessly connected, as though it had been born as a complete whole.
Had it been an ordinary item, that wouldn’t have been surprising.
But Liora could tell that the statue contained a complete concept, as though it were the manifestation of that Law.
In a way, if the dimension behind the Dimension Gate were fully developed and reached the same level as the Origin Sea, allowing this statue to gain consciousness, it would be born as a peak Archdevil.
With such a foundation, it wouldn’t take much effort for it to become an Ancient Devil.
Therefore, Liora’s curiosity was greatly piqued.
“I’ve heard that in the past, there was a group of creatures that were innately powerful in the Origin Sea.”
“They were all born as Archdevils and reached the Ancient Devil Stage upon adulthood.”
“Without even needing to do anything, they would reach the Absolute Beginning Stage once they fully matured.”
These creatures were supposedly the first batch of creatures born in the Origin Sea, being walking manifestations of its rules.
Unfortunately, their great strength had also doomed them to a terrible fate.
When later creatures learned of their extraordinary powers and grew strong enough to contend with them, these beings became their prey.
Within a few centuries, all of them had disappeared.
There were two main reasons behind that encirclement.
First, these creatures were simply too powerful.
Their combat prowess was enough to overwhelm opponents of the same level. Moreover, their innate potential meant that there was a high chance they would advance even further.
How could the other creatures in the Origin Sea, which had not yet grown up back then, allow them to do so?
Thus, they all joined forces to kill them.
At the same time, the bodies of these creatures were akin to treasures.
Whether it was for making weapons, devouring their essence, or simply studying their innate rules, every inch of their bodies was extremely precious.
With their death, their bodies were torn apart and divided between the survivors of that ancient battle.
“According to the rumors, those creatures referred to themselves as Chaos Gods. They claimed to be the favored of the Origin Sea, born of its power.”
“The current Chaos Beasts can be considered their descendants, or rather, a weaker version of them. Hence their name: Chaos Beasts.”
As this information surfaced in Liora’s mind, her eyes glinted.
She was almost certain that the statue she was holding was one of the nascent dimension’s Chaos Gods.
Only such a creature would be perfectly integrated with a Law, as though it had been born to represent it.
The body of a Chaos God was already valuable enough.
Moreover, since that dimension had not been fully developed, that Chaos God had yet to be born. It could not resist Liora’s exploration.
In a sense, this was equivalent to her capturing a living Chaos God and forcing it to help her study itself.
The benefits of doing so were immeasurable.
And so, Liora didn’t hold back. She quickly became immersed in studying it, not caring about anything else.
—
While Liora was focused on her practice, the Demon World had unknowingly been plunged into chaos.
Although the previous events had only lasted for a few hours from start to finish, they had shattered the understanding of many people.
The deaths of two Rulers, one of whom was an infamous Primordial Devil, were enough to shake the Demon World.
After all, every Ancient Devil was a famous powerhouse. Behind them stood an entire network of other beings with interconnected interests.
In particular, both of the Rulers who had perished were Fallen Angels.
As such, this powerful race, which towered above the Demon World and had only a few opponents, had been weakened considerably.
This gave their enemies an opportunity to suppress them.
At the same time, however, it made the Fallen Angels furious.
They all wanted revenge.
And the target of their revenge was obvious.
—
“We have to kill her!”
“Even if we need to summon every Fallen Angel in the Demon World, we need to take revenge! The number of casualties does not matter!”
In a large hall, a furious roar resounded.
Its owner was an enormous creature with eight wings, four white and four black, behind his back.
Had he been anywhere else, this man would have attracted attention.
But in this room, where everyone had a similarly bizarre appearance, the man fit in perfectly.
More than a dozen Fallen Angels had unknowingly gathered here.
All of them had reached the Antiquity stage. Many of them were Primordial Devils, fully showcasing the might of the Fallen Angel lineage.
At this moment, all these powerhouses were deciding their next course of action. More precisely, how they should react to Liora’s earlier slaughter.
“Ryu, you should calm down.” Hearing the man’s roar, an elderly woman suddenly spoke up.
“We all know about your unusual relationship with the Holy Land Demon Lord. However, we can’t make such a rash decision solely out of emotions.”
“We should first analyze the situation. Only if seeking revenge is possible, and the damage to our faction is low enough, should we begin targeting that person.”
The hall soon erupted into chaos.
The Fallen Angels were divided into two groups.
One wished to kill Liora as soon as possible, even if it meant sacrificing many members of their race, including some weaker Ancient Devils.
The other side believed that they should first investigate Liora more deeply. Once they had made sufficient preparations and set up a trap, they could take her down with more ease.
The two sides clashed.
The Fallen Angels were divided.
In the end, both groups could only look toward the center of the room, where a majestic throne stood.
On top of it sat a young man who looked no different from an ordinary human.
He had no wings, nor did he exude any devilish aura like the rest of his companions.
He looked much like an ordinary mortal.
However, no one in the room dared to underestimate him because of such an appearance.
They knew the man’s identity very well.
He was not only the leader of the Fallen Angel lineage, but also the Ruler of the 2nd Demon Layer!
He had never been defeated!
Besides the two Devils ranked first and third respectively, he had no other opponents throughout the Demon World!
