Evolution: From Little Devil to Devil Empress

Chapter 745: Return to the Demon World

  • Next Chapter

No matter how many times Liora had seen it, she couldn’t help but feel strange whenever she observed the Demon World’s structure.

Although her progress had been rapid since her birth, she had actually visited several worlds.

Knight World. Demon Weapon World.

Cosmic Universe.

Even some ruined worlds and secret realms.

Among them, some worlds had the appearance of floating continents. Others were in the form of planets. Some were entire universes.

Yet the Demon World was the only world she knew that possessed such a peculiar structure.

Of course, calling it a world was somewhat inaccurate. Rather than calling it that, it would be far more accurate to call it an amalgamation of them.

World after world, each stacked on top of the other like layers of a massive cake—this was the structure of the Demon World.

Each world had its own characteristics and a different Ruler, but they all blended together under the power of the Will of the Demon World.

From her bloodline and the memories of the Hollow Ancestor, Liora knew that every Demon Layer was actually built by a Devil rather than being naturally born.

That was why their structures varied, and it was also why the Ruler’s existence influenced the layer itself.

"The 173rd Demon Layer was affected by the Hollow Ancestor, leading to the emergence of Hollows. Other Demon Layers are similar, each with their own peculiarities."

With her current strength, Liora also had enough strength to establish her own Demon Layer, gaining the blessing of the Demon World and obtaining part of its authority.

Moreover, she could create a far stronger Demon Layer than the Hollow Ancestor, perhaps one that could be ranked in the top fifty.

However, Liora didn’t rush to do so just yet.

Her return to the Demon World was not because she had missed her home.

She had several goals she wished to accomplish by coming here.

Among them, the most crucial one was her advancement to the Antiquity stage.

Despite possessing the combat power of a Primordial Devil, Liora’s current stage was merely the first stage of Ancient Devils—Other Shore.

She had already reached the peak of that stage after devouring the Information World.

Under normal circumstances, she would have advanced to the Antiquity stage long ago.

"However, there is something preventing me from doing so..." Liora whispered, her eyes narrowing.

She knew very well what that "something" was.

Every Antiquity Devil had directly imprinted themselves onto their history.

Liora had also done the same.

However, there were "pieces" of her life she had yet to imprint herself upon.

"I was born in the Demon World and have traveled to many other worlds during my journey."

"My timeline has only included the pieces following my reincarnation into the Cosmic Universe. As long as I don’t include the history of mine in other worlds into my timeline, I will never be able to advance beyond the Other Shore stage."

"Moreover, those ’past selves’ will forever remain my weakness. If someone powerful enough discovers them, they will be able to target me through them."

Despite knowing this, Liora remained utterly calm.

After all, after today, that "weakness" would cease to exist.

With a thought, her body blurred, transforming into a stream of light that dove head-on into the Demon World.

When she stopped, she was standing between the 172nd and 174th Demon Layers.

As for the 173rd, where she had spent most of her "adult life", it was nowhere to be seen, having been destroyed during the devastating battle back then.

"It has already been so many years, yet no one has come here to conquer this area and establish their own Demon Layer." Liora shook her head.

Whether this was because of their fear of the Hollow Ancestor’s return or because of another reason, she couldn’t possibly know.

Fortunately, it also didn’t matter to her.

Floating in space, she looked down at the place where the massive continent was once located.

Then, her mind stirred, communicating with her Throne.

A tiny ripple spread through the River of Time, as though a drop of water had fallen in it.

The next moment, Liora took a step forward.

That step did not travel through space, but rather through time.

Out of nowhere, Liora’s surroundings abruptly shifted.

The 173rd Demon Layer appeared beneath her feet, albeit in a ruined state.

The reason was simple.

Two terrifying figures were engaged in battle in the sky, the aftermath of their fight spreading throughout the Demon Layer.

One was the Hollow Ancestor. The other was Liora herself.

Staring at her past self using the World of Heart in cooperation with the Four Elements Devil to deal with the Hollow Ancestor, Liora couldn’t help but shake her head.

With her current vision, she could tell that the Hollow Ancestor had clearly been toying with her all along, wanting to use the bizarre "True Balance" treasure to devour her and the Four Elements Devil.

Had it not been for her special "weight," she wouldn’t have stood a chance against him.

While observing the battlefield, Liora paid special attention to the Hollow Ancestor.

She could clearly see that his figure lacked the special spirituality an Ancient Devil would naturally possess.

Ancient Devils possessed the characteristic that every moment of their existence was their present self.

Had it been another Ancient Devil, they would have been able to notice her arrival at this node in time.

But the Hollow Ancestor didn’t.

Because he was dead.

All that remained behind was a projection, created by the River of Time to correct the timeline.

As long as Liora wanted, she could directly crush that projection to death.

Of course, there was no reason to suffer backlash for doing so.

After a few more seconds, she finally pointed at her past self.

The past "Liora’s" eyes suddenly shone.

A look of realization flashed across them.

"I see..." A soft whisper came from her lips before she continued fighting with the Hollow Ancestor as though nothing had happened.

Seeing this, Liora no longer stayed here.

With another step, she walked further into the past, imprinting her existence on every time node.

As long as these imprints traced back to the moment of her birth, she would be able to truly complete her own timeline!

By then, her advancement to the Antiquity stage would be natural!
