Chapter 435: Felix’s Plot

"Aiden, let me investigate this."

Cheryl suddenly stepped forward. Her delicate face was full of seriousness and resolve.

"My battle Miko class is extremely sensitive to [malice] and [demonic energy]. And I’m a new face here, so I’m less likely to alert them."

She looked at Aiden, her beautiful eyes filled with a strong desire to be recognized.

Aiden looked at her in silence for a moment, then smiled slightly.

"Alright. Be careful."

Aiden raised his hand and gently tapped Cheryl on the forehead.

Buzz!

A pure Force of Laws filled with killing intent turned into a blood-red rune and sank into Cheryl’s brow.

"If you run into danger, activate this rune. It can kill any Venerable below level 90 in one strike."

Aiden stood with his hands behind his back. His tone was calm, but it carried absolute confidence.

"Mm!"

Cheryl nodded firmly. Then her figure flashed, turning into an afterimage as she disappeared into the dense forest outside the Sovereign City.

...

Night fell, and dark clouds covered the moon.

Outside the Sovereign City, there was an old steel refinery that had been abandoned for many years.

Weeds grew everywhere. Rusty steel frames creaked in the night wind, making strange sounds like the cries of ghosts.

Cheryl moved like a nimble cat in the night, landing silently on the broken roof of a building.

She closed her eyes. The blood-red rune Aiden had left between her brows grew slightly warm, instantly pushing her senses to their limit.

"I found it... Such strong malice. And... the smell of blood!"

Cheryl’s eyes snapped open. She moved at once, her body drifting through a broken window like a wisp of smoke and entering the warehouse.

Inside, the warehouse was deathly silent.

But when Cheryl saw what was in the center of the building, her fair face instantly turned pale.

"This... What is this...?"

Cheryl covered her mouth tightly, almost crying out in shock.

In the middle of the huge abandoned warehouse, dozens of large iron cages were lined up neatly.

Inside each cage was a child, pale-faced and barely alive.

Their eyes were dull and empty. Their bodies were covered with terrible wounds.

But the most horrifying part was that those wounds were not random signs of torture. Strange, twisted lines of text had been carved into their skin with black ink and blood.

They were... sacrificial writings of the Abyss Demon race.

On the bone altar in the very center, the boy from The White City, the one whose severed arm had grown back, was lying quietly.

The skin on his chest had been completely peeled open. Blood covered him, and under his flesh, a hideous eye-shaped pattern made of countless black sacrificial writings seemed to be slowly and strangely opening.

"Filthy human. How dare you break into the sacred altar of our holy cult!"

From the dark corners, several Evil Demons Guild priests in black robes slowly walked out. Their faces were thin and withered, and cruel green light flashed in their eyes.

"These children... You beasts!"

Cheryl clenched her teeth, her whole body trembling. The soul armor around her burst out with brilliant light, and the violent power of the battle Miko gathered in her palms.

"Hehehe. Only by using the Grudge Hearts of these pure children can we communicate with the great Abyss Demon God. And you will become part of the sacrifice too!"

The leading Evil Demons Guild priest gave a vicious laugh. He raised his hand and summoned a black Abyss demonic flame, instantly cutting off all of Cheryl’s escape routes.

"Who gave you the courage to touch my people?"

An extremely cold voice suddenly rang through the warehouse.

Boom!

The empty air shattered like a mirror.

Aiden stepped out in white robes. With every step he took, blood-red lotuses formed from the laws of shadow and killing bloomed in the air.

"Who are you?!"

The faces of the Evil Demons Guild priests changed sharply. They felt a terrifying pressure descend on them, a force they could not resist. Their knees went weak, and they were instantly pinned to the ground.

"Die."

Aiden did not even raise his hand. His eyes merely narrowed.

Buzz!

The 10,000x critical hit system was triggered in an instant!

The killing law, which had only been a faint power at first, was magnified ten thousand times in that moment. It turned into solid blood-red sword energy and swept through the entire warehouse.

Puff! Puff! Puff!

There were no screams.

Dozens of elite Evil Demons Guild members at level 70 were shredded into clouds of blood in an instant.

Even their souls were completely erased under the crushing power of the killing law.

Aiden turned around and looked at the children in the iron cages. They were barely alive, their bodies covered with carved Demon sacrificial writings. The cold light in his eyes was almost impossible to hold back.

"Using the hatred of innocent children to gain Strength... Evil Demons Guild, you deserve to be wiped out."

He waved his hand, and a gentle light of life fell over the children, temporarily suppressing the Demon sacrificial writings inside their bodies.

"Cheryl, contact Luke and the Hawthorne family trade guild at once. Use every resource we have. Move these children out in secret and get them treated. Not a single word of this can leak out."

Aiden’s voice was low, but it carried unquestionable authority.

"Okay. I’ll do it right away!"

Cheryl wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes and immediately began contacting the others with a secret method.

After the children were settled, Aiden stood on top of the abandoned warehouse and closed his eyes. His vast soul Strength, almost godlike in power, surged out again like a tide.

Following the remaining soul traces left behind by the Evil Demons Guild priests, he tracked them back to their source and locked onto a luxurious mansion deep inside the Sovereign City.

It was the residence of Felix, the chief minister of the Great Shaw Empire and the leader of the conservative faction.

"Felix, I knew you wouldn’t be able to hold back for long."

Aiden gave a cold snort. His body instantly merged into the void and disappeared.

At that moment, inside a secret chamber of the Ginger family.

"Grandfather, most of those stubborn old men in the court have already been dealt with."

A gloomy-looking young man bowed as he spoke. He was Owen, Felix’s grandson.

"Those who obey me will prosper. Those who oppose me will die. That woman Eira has held the throne for far too long. It is time for the Great Shaw Empire to have a new ruler."

Felix sat in the main seat with his eyes closed, resting. His voice was hoarse and cold.

"The Minister of Rites, the Chief Censor, and the Assistant Minister of War—those three old fools refused to understand the situation. So we arranged for them to die in [accidents]."

A cruel smile appeared at the corner of Owen’s mouth as he continued his report.

"As for the rest, after seeing our methods and the benefits offered by the Evil Demons Guild, they all obediently signed their pledges of loyalty."

"Good. Work together with the remaining forces of the Evil Demons Guild. As long as we overthrow Eira, the Great Shaw Empire will belong to us."

Felix slowly opened his eyes, which burned with wild ambition.

However, they had no idea that, hidden in the void, a pair of cold eyes was watching everything.

"A coup? Overthrow the Empress?"

Hidden in the void, Aiden’s lips curled into a mocking smile.

He did not act right away and risk warning them. Instead, he used his Inner Spirit Strength to perfectly record everything he had seen and heard.

Half an hour later, inside a secret room at the Reclasser Association in the Sovereign City.

"Aiden! You’re finally back!"

The level 79 Tyrant Cleric, Luke, stood up excitedly the moment he saw Aiden.

"Luke, no time for talk. Hand this to the Empress in person."

Aiden flicked his finger, and a soul recording stone giving off a faint law aura landed in Luke’s hand.

"This is... Hiss! That old dog Felix is actually planning a rebellion?!"

Luke scanned it with his Spirit power and immediately gasped in shock. The fat all over his body trembled.

"I understand. I’ll use the royal secret channel and deliver it directly to Her Majesty!"

Luke knew how serious the matter was. He instantly turned into a gust of wind and disappeared from the secret room.

Only half an hour later.

A golden secret letter, formed from the energy of the Great Shaw Empire’s Golden Dragon of National Destiny, appeared out of thin air in front of Aiden.

Aiden reached out and crushed the letter. Empress Eira’s dignified but slightly tired voice rang in his mind.

"Aiden, I now know everything about Felix. The purge plan has already been arranged in secret."

"But I have even worse news."

"Henry, who is locked in death row, seems to have contacted the outside world through some unknown Abyss secret method."

"I suspect someone is planning to help him escape from prison. He may even be a key part of the coup."

Aiden looked at the fading golden light and raised his eyebrows slightly.

Henry.

The prince who hated him to the bone because his son, Logan, had been turned into a vegetable.

"A prison break from death row... Interesting. I’d like to see who has the nerve to do this."

Aiden stood by the window with his hands behind his back, looking at the dark clouds rolling above the Sovereign City. His eyes were cold.

Rumble!

That night, deep thunder exploded over the Sovereign City, and heavy rain poured down.

Suddenly—

Boom!!!

A world-shaking blast tore through the sound of the storm.

In the northwest of the Sovereign City, above the supposedly unbreakable imperial death prison, a terrifying cloud of black demonic energy suddenly rose into the sky. It turned into a giant Demon claw and smashed the prison’s defense barrier apart.

The violent wave of energy swept across half of the Sovereign City like a tsunami.

"Not good! Someone is breaking into the prison!"

"Henry has been taken!"

Sharp alarms and the sounds of fierce fighting instantly echoed through the night sky of the Sovereign City.

...

The rain poured down heavily over the northwest death prison of the Sovereign City.

The imperial defense barrier, once thought to be as solid as iron, shattered like fragile glass.

Buzz!

The void shook violently, and three black figures appeared out of thin air, each giving off overwhelming Heavenly Demon energy.

In their hands, a Legendary Rank Teleportation Scroll burning with ghostly green flames was slowly turning into ash.

"Move fast. Take Henry and leave!"

The leader of the Evil Demons Guild spoke in a hoarse voice, like two rusty pieces of iron grinding against each other.

"Enemy atta—!"

The prison guard’s angry shout had only just begun when it was swallowed by countless black demonic blades.

Puff! Puff! Puff!

Blood sprayed everywhere. Broken arms and severed limbs flew through the rain.

There was no wasted talk and no hesitation.

The three Evil Demons Guild experts moved like death itself, crushing everything in their path as they charged straight toward the deepest core area of the death prison.
