Chapter 295: Entering the Skeleton Tree Spirit Space – Trouble Afoot?

Chapter 295: Chapter 295: Entering the Skeleton Tree Spirit Space – Trouble Afoot?

Did the Wycliffe Family have some big news?

When he heard Nellie’s voice, Aiden immediately furrowed his brow. But he didn’t answer right away. Instead, he lowered his voice and said,

“Bella, we’re back. You probably have other things to do, right?”

He figured he should send Bella away first before asking Nellie what was going on.

Bella, now shrunk and hiding in Aiden’s hair, let out a cold, disdainful laugh.

“So cruel,” she murmured. “Use someone and then toss them aside without a second thought.”

“Sigh. Men are so unreliable.”

Aiden’s eyelids twitched.

Bella had transformed into a woman the size of a fist, looking completely drained and hollow-eyed.

“I didn’t use you,” Aiden replied quietly.

As soon as he said that, Bella’s expression changed. She spoke in a rush, “Okay, no more chatting. Bella is calling me.”

In the next moment, Bella turned into a streak of light, flew out the window, and vanished into the sky.

Aiden glanced up at the sky a few times, then walked to the door. He opened it and called out to Nellie standing outside,

“What’s wrong? Did something happen?”

Nellie stood there, hesitating for a moment before finally saying, “The Wycliffe Family sent a message. They want me to return to the family right after I leave the Golden Great Wall.”

“Last night, a human Divine Powerhouse’s student went to the Wycliffe Family. Using some resources the family didn’t have, he traded for a fragment of that mysterious treasure map.”

The moment Aiden heard this, his pupils shrank slightly.

A human Divine Powerhouse’s student is also collecting fragments of the mysterious treasure map?

“Which Divine Powerhouse’s student?” Aiden asked.

Nellie’s eyes filled with gravity and caution. She glanced around quickly before whispering back,

“It’s Cassian, the youngest student of The Flame God Ignis. He took that map fragment from the Wycliffe Family.”

The Flame God?

Cassian?

Aiden frowned tightly. This wasn’t good news at all.

He was only two fragments away from completing the set. One was already in Cassian’s hands, and the other should still be in the Abyss Heartspire.

If Cassian was only interested in the Supreme Miko’s treasure, that might be manageable.

But Aiden worried that someone exactly like him—a real threat seeking the Supreme Miko’s treasure—might be The Flame God Ignis himself!

“Then again, thinking about it from another angle,” Aiden took a deep breath, “if that’s true, it means the treasure must hold something that even a Divine Powerhouse can’t resist.”

Whether it was The Flame God Ignis or Cassian, anyone wanting the other map fragments would eventually turn their eyes toward him.

It was common knowledge that he had won the map fragment given as a prize in the Global Reclasser Exchange Competition.

However, those people didn’t know he actually held three fragments.

“By the way, shouldn’t you be at the border of the Golden Great Wall and Earth right now, getting used to it?” Aiden suddenly remembered.

Nellie smiled and replied, “Jenna and I have already finished the adaptation.”

“That fast?” Aiden remembered Divine Powerhouse Selene saying it would take two days.

Nellie gave Aiden a strange look and said, “No matter how fast Jenna and I are, we can’t compete with you.”

“You didn’t need to adapt at all. You could just walk right into the Golden Great Wall.”

She and Jenna were geniuses from a Hidden Family and had already received training in this area, which is why they didn’t need that much time to adapt.

However, Aiden? He didn’t need to adapt at all. That was the truly crazy part.

“By noon tomorrow, most of the trainees will have finished adapting. Then we’ll all enter the Golden Great Wall together. Watch your time and don’t be late,” Nellie reminded him.

After saying that, she hurriedly left.

Aiden closed the door and thought for a moment. He still had a lot to do.

His level had reached 50, and he needed to complete a Class Change quest to continue leveling up.

Even though Aiden had gained a ton of experience by killing Demon Clan geniuses, he planned to wait until he finished the Class Change quest and upgraded his Apprentice’s Heart skill before using those points.

That way, he could maximize his gains.

“After finishing the Class Change quest, I must complete ’Bane of All Races 2: Genius Nightmare’ as quickly as possible,” Aiden thought. “Otherwise, if I keep leveling up, I’ll lose the chance to do this quest.”

This quest has a time limit.

Once he leaves the Golden Great Wall, he needs to tackle the Class Change quest, hunt down Abyss Race geniuses, and head to the Red Dwarves’ territory.

If everything goes smoothly, he’ll unlock the Forgemaster profession and claim the rewards from the ’Bane of All Races 2: Genius Nightmare’ quest.

Next comes raising his crafting skills while boosting his combat power, searching for the remaining mystery treasure map fragments, triggering the Grudge Heart hidden quest, and waiting for the Floating City of the Godfall Zone to reopen. Hopefully, he’ll find a way to obtain Floating City itself—that powerful Mythic Rank item.

“This is what I need to do next. Of course, if possible, I need to deal with Felix and Henry too. As long as they’re around, they remain a threat to me,” Aiden sighed deeply.

There are more and more things to do. If he doesn’t sort them out beforehand, he might overlook something important.

Floating City is a huge Mythic Rank item, and it’s very important to Aiden. If he gets it, he can build his own faction inside the Floating City.

Whether it was the Great Shaw Empire, the Elephant Empire, or any other nation on Earth, when facing the crisis brought by the Abyss, there were always too many greedy and selfish Reclassers.

There were evil Reclassers who used innocent and naive children to boost their soul strength, and nobles who treated their own countrymen as goods to be sold to the Abyss… These people all deserved to be killed!

Just like in this Global Reclasser Exchange Competition, a team can only accomplish its goals if all its members share the same objective.

Aiden thought quickly. The High-tier materials he possessed were enough to cultivate a large number of genius Reclassers in a short time.

His time and energy were limited, after all. He simply couldn’t do everything himself; he needed to build his own faction.

“I’m not going to the Golden Great Wall until tomorrow, so I might as well check out the Reclasser Association in the Elephant Empire later,” Aiden thought. “I recall that Class Change quests can also be accepted in other countries.”

But before that, there was one more thing he needed to do.

Aiden took a deep breath and pulled out the root of the Skeleton Tree.

It looked like a piece of white stone, smooth to the touch and cool. It felt quite pleasant.

Soon, some of Aiden’s mana flowed out. The Skeleton Tree root instantly began to glow with a faint white light.

Next, a wave of intense pain surged through him.

It felt as though someone had split his head open with an axe. He gritted his teeth slightly but didn’t react too much.

Then, a small, ghostly figure of “Aiden,” about the size of a fist, shot out of his head and flew into the Skeleton Tree root.

Aiden instinctively closed his eyes.

When he opened them again, he found himself in a strange place. Everything around him was a blinding white, and he couldn’t see anything clearly.

“Is this the Skeleton Tree’s Spirit space? It feels a bit like a Mindspace,” Aiden frowned, unable to help himself.

Just as he thought that, the white fog vanished in an instant. Before Aiden stood a colossal tree-shaped mountain, ten thousand meters tall!

No, it wasn’t a mountain. It was a giant tree made entirely of white bones!

At that moment, Aiden felt a slight tremor beneath his feet. Looking down, he saw a white root, thick as an arm, swiftly moving toward him.

The root writhed and twisted, splitting into countless smaller branches that quickly merged together to form human words.

[Please enter your alias]

[Do you wish to hide your appearance features?]

Aiden wasn’t too surprised by this. After a brief thought, he decided to use “Hunter” as his alias.

[That alias is unavailable. Please enter a new one.]

“Unavailable? Has someone already taken it?” Aiden frowned.

He tried something else, quickly typing in “Jack,” “Orrin,” “Theodore”…

As expected, all of these aliases were rejected.

“I’m sure none of these aliases belong to the real people,” Aiden muttered under his breath.

He’d never been very good at coming up with names.

After another minute of thinking, Aiden finally came up with another name.

[Nameless, welcome to the Skeleton Tree Spirit Space]

[You have chosen to hide your appearance features]

[Note: When the Skeleton Tree blooms, no matter what you are doing, leave the Skeleton Tree Spirit Space as fast as you can.]

[Note: Combat is strictly prohibited within the Skeleton Tree Spirit Space. Violators will be expelled and lose a portion of their Spirit.]

[As a new recruit, you have been awarded 100 Bone Coins.]

As the white roots continued to shift, a hundred thumb-sized coins made of white bone suddenly appeared before Aiden.

The moment he picked them up, a voice suddenly spoke from behind him.

“My friend, you are in big trouble.”
