Chapter 251: The Power of the Gnome Demon and Ksitigarbha’s Emissary

Chapter 251: Chapter 251: The Power of the Gnome Demon and Ksitigarbha’s Emissary

The moment Jenna saw Raphael vanish, her pupils contracted sharply. Confusion and hesitation flashed across her eyes.

“Is this an illusion? But didn’t Nellie go to deal with that Gnome Demon?”

“If it’s not an illusion, then how did Raphael just disappear?”

A dozen thoughts raced through Jenna’s mind in an instant.

She assumed Raphael was still standing there, and the Gnome Demon’s power had just tricked her senses again.

But the next second, she saw something terrifying: the teammate she had just seen being controlled was standing right in front of her fist.

“Stop!” Jenna gritted her teeth, forcing her arm to change direction mid-swing.

Boom!

The ground shook violently, and a massive crater formed. Jenna’s full-power punch finally slammed into the earth.

Just then, the member from The Amaranth Country vanished again.

At that exact spot, Raphael appeared.

Jenna hadn’t realized the danger yet.

Raphael’s lips curled into a wild, frantic smile. His arms stretched out like rubber, speeding up as his pitch-black fingers lunged straight toward Jenna’s body.

Clang!

The sound of steel colliding rang out.

A fist-sized dent appeared on Jenna’s Ksitigarbha Armor. Her body was thrown backward, and her feet scraped two deep, long furrows into the ground.

“Such immense Strength!” Jenna felt as though a speeding train had just slammed into her. Every bone in her body ached violently.

“Hahaha! Inside this Despair Zone, anyone I control with my clones can be swapped around at will,” Raphael laughed triumphantly. “Go ahead and attack. Next time, your fist might land right on your own ally!”

His Despair Zone didn’t just drain the Strength from the controlled human Reclassers; it also used them as living shields.

Whenever he faced a dangerous attack or skill, he would instantly swap positions with a controlled human.

“If I can just control a few more human Reclassers, I’ll be absolutely invincible!” Raphael thought to himself. Ignoring Jenna for the moment, he quickly turned his gaze toward the human Reclassers who were still struggling to break free from the illusions.

Meanwhile, far from the battlefield, Nellie stood covered in bloody thorns. Her expression was grave as she stared into the endless white mist ahead.

“I was just fighting that Gnome Demon,” she thought, utterly confused. “How did I blink right into this strange place?”

“Is it another illusion? But don’t I have items to block illusions and soul attacks?” Nellie’s mind was filled with doubt.

Those items had been given to her by Gareth, a master of the Eye Technique.

Under normal circumstances, she should have been completely immune to such tricks.

Unless… that Gnome Demon hadn’t cast an illusion on her at all.

“I get it now,” Nellie realized, a bad feeling sinking in her stomach. “This isn’t an illusion. This is the Mindspace that Uncle Gareth once mentioned!”

Gareth had told her about the Mindspace before. He explained that low-level Eye Techniques only make targets see fake images, scenes, or people.

But true, high-level Eye Techniques can silently force a target to enter a mysterious Mindspace.

It forces the target to confront what they fear most, dread deeply, or desperately desire.

This can either break them down spiritually and mentally, or trap them permanently inside the Mindspace, completely cut off from the outside world.

Nellie took a deep breath. This wasn’t a soul attack, nor was it a simple illusion. Naturally, her items wouldn’t work against it.

“This is going to be a problem,” Nellie muttered, staring into the endless white mist.

Suddenly, the mist began to part. Her eyes widened in shock, and her body started trembling uncontrollably.

Because she saw her mother—long dead.

At the front-line battlefield, amidst the ruins, Nellie stood motionless, covered in blood-red thorns. She was completely frozen.

The Gnome Demon chuckled coldly, walking slowly past her.

“This was easier than I thought,” it said. “It seems you have something you can never let go of.”

“Humans,” the Gnome Demon continued, “are fragile, both in body and in spirit.”

It slowly turned its massive head to look in Aiden’s direction.

Right now, Aiden was raising the The Abyss Flame Demon staff, casting a skill at the eerie figure advancing on Victor and the others.

His situation was already dire: Demon Rhodes was in front of him, black vines were bursting from the ground, and Gaunt Demon Raphael was also there.

Just then, Aiden suddenly felt another gaze on him. He turned to look, and there, moving toward them, was the Gnome Demon.

At that exact moment, the viewers watching the global broadcast felt as though they had been dropped into a river full of ice shards.

In the blink of an eye, the situation had shifted dramatically.

Even though the Scorpion-Tailed Demon was dead, a new Demon that controlled the black vines had appeared. Worse yet, there was a Gnome Demon they had never seen before.

Aiden was now facing four Mythic Rank Demon geniuses!

Meanwhile, Nellie was lost in her own trap, standing still and unresponsive.

Jenna had just been knocked back by the Gaunt Demon.

The other contestants were still dazed, unable to fully regain their senses. They glared at Aiden with wariness, and some were already preparing to unleash skills against him.

“This is it, we’re done for!”

“How did this happen? New Demon geniuses have shown up! Just one attack, and Nellie is out of the fight!”

“Is this really the strength of the Demon Clan?”

“What do we do? Can Aiden hold on until the others wake up?”

“Unlikely. Even with Jenna’s help, he can’t last against so many Demon geniuses.”

“What about Rowan? Wasn’t he still at the front line? Where is he? He needs to help us!”

“Who knows? He’s probably hiding somewhere safe right now!”

“Waste of a talent!”

“Are human geniuses really weaker than those from the Demon Clan? If they are, how can we ever resist their invasion?”

“Don’t lose hope! General Aiden will surely create a miracle. We must believe in him!”

Just as despair washed over the millions watching the global broadcast, Jenna suddenly moved again.

She placed her palm over her heart, glanced briefly at Victor and the others, and then at Nellie.

“If I do not enter hell, who will?

Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva saves all sentient beings. Even his Emissary can help others escape suffering.

Let all pain and misfortune enter my heart. Let me bear it all alone.”

“Ksitigarbha: Deliverance of Sentient Beings!” Jenna shouted, her voice filled with resolve.

Her Ksitigarbha Armor suddenly began to vibrate violently. Quickly, it shattered into countless palm-sized fragments.

These pieces rushed behind Jenna, swirling rapidly to form a vague, glowing phantom of a Bodhisattva.

An endless flood of chanting voices filled the air, and the entire world suddenly fell silent.

Next, invisible waves of energy erupted from Victor, Jade, Cici… and even Nellie. They shot through the air, rushing straight toward Jenna.

Jenna’s face remained calm, but her eyes were filled with boundless sadness and pity.

This was the ultimate skill of the Ksitigarbha’s Emissary: Ksitigarbha: Deliverance of Sentient Beings. It could transfer all pain and negative status effects from everyone within a certain range directly onto her.

But the price was high. Her senses would be amplified a hundredfold, and her body would be left in a state of severe weakness for a long time.

Simply standing would be impossible; she would need someone to hold her up.

Jenna had thought she would never get the chance to use this skill during this battle on the front line.

But facing such a desperate situation, she had no other choice.

“Aiden, Nellie, and everyone else… the rest is up to you,” Jenna said in a rush.

The moment her voice faded, her face twisted in agony. Her body shook violently, and sweat poured down her forehead.

“Ah!”

Jenna’s muscles locked up rigid, and a low, guttural hiss escaped her throat.

Nellie looked around in confusion, quickly assessed the situation, and without hesitation, flew straight toward Jenna.

She snatched the girl up, holding her as tightly as she could.

The moment Nellie touched her, it felt like thousands of needles were piercing Jenna’s skin. Tiny beads of blood welled up instantly.

“D-don’t… don’t…” Jenna struggled to speak, her voice trembling.

Nellie assumed Jenna was trying to say, “Don’t touch me.”

But Jenna bit her teeth, her voice shaking with pain as she continued, “Don’t… lose.”

“Don’t lose,” Jenna closed her eyes and fell unconscious, overwhelmed by the torture.

At that same moment, Victor, Jade, and the others snapped back to reality.

“Damn it!” Victor shouted. “I was just trapped in an illusion! I almost attacked our Captain!”

“Stay together! Don’t scatter! Stick close to the Captain and get ready for the final fight!” Victor shouted.

Right behind Demon Raphael stood not just the Gnome Demon, but another figure as well.

It was a Demon made entirely of thick black vines, its whole body covered in writhing tendrils that swayed constantly in the air.

“Loros, Beliar, you’ve done well,” Raphael said with confidence. “Now, let’s show these humans our true power!”

The Gnome Demon named Beliar kept his gaze fixed on Jenna, who was being held by Nellie.

“That skill she just used was definitely not simple,” Beliar whispered to Raphael. “But what a pity… I still haven’t used my power on that guy who killed the Scorpion-Tailed Demon.”
