Chapter 225: Just Give Them Time to Write a Last Will and Talk with Robert

Chapter 225: Chapter 225: Just Give Them Time to Write a Last Will and Talk with Robert

“A bad piece of news,” Robert started slowly. “The geniuses of the Demon Clan just attacked another small city near the front lines.”

At his words, Xander’s body suddenly swayed. “When?” he asked immediately.

“Just now,” Robert replied.

Then, the two fell into silence.

The contestants in the meeting hall couldn’t help but start talking among themselves, especially the ones who had no idea what was going on.

They kept asking people around them, then everyone pulled out their phones to watch the videos.

Some people hadn’t lowered their volume. Soon, the loud meeting room was filled with the sounds of Demon Raphael’s voice and the screaming of the pregnant woman.

The huge discussion in the room instantly stopped.

Victor took a deep breath and looked at Robert. “No one can stop those damn Demons?” he asked.

At those words, most contestants looked up, waiting for Robert’s answer.

Robert let out another sigh and began to explain.

It turns out that the red light that appeared on the front lines last night was indeed a Demon God from the Abyss.

The white line in the night sky was an anomaly caused by human divine powerhouses.

Robert said, “The situation is currently at a standoff. We have high-level strong ones and divine powerhouses on our side. The Demons have them too, and they have more of them.”

Aiden understood immediately.

On the battlefield, if both sides have large-scale weapons, they reach a tacit agreement. Neither side will use them unless it’s absolutely critical.

Ordinary Reclasser soldiers aren’t a match for the Demon geniuses if there aren’t enough of them.

In this situation, the only effective way is to send geniuses to fight geniuses.

Thinking this, Aiden figured that Robert would soon announce an early start for the team stage of the Global Reclasser Exchange Tournament.

Before he could finish that thought, Robert spoke up:

“Anyone who wants to quit can leave the meeting room now. Everyone who stays should go back, get ready immediately, and we will set off tonight. We’ll reach the front lines by tomorrow morning.”

Silence. Quiet.

Most teams already knew which countries’ teams had prepared to quit.

Several contestants from a small nation looked at each other in silence. They had planned to quit this tournament.

But with what just happened, no one moved their feet to leave their seats.

Seconds ticked by, yet every contestant in the room stayed where they were.

Just then, a contestant from the Elephant Empire couldn’t help but ask, “Lord Robert, do we really have to wait until tomorrow morning?”

“Can we reach the front lines tonight? As long as I have some time to write my last will, that would be enough.”

Robert took a deep breath and shook his head sadly. “It’s too rushed to reach the front lines tonight. You still need time to adjust your state, pick up items, and grab the teleport scrolls.”

As a level 99 Reclasser, Robert walked slowly toward the contestants. His straight back slowly bent forward as he bowed to every single person who had stayed put.

“Sorry,” he said. “What I said before was wrong. You are all true genius Reclassers of humanity, not trash.”

Xander added, “I, on behalf of everyone in the Elephant Empire, sincerely thank you. This tournament is no longer about humans competing against each other. Your enemy is the Demon from the Abyss, those cruel beasts!”

“Everyone, no matter if you can kill the Demon geniuses or not, your names will forever be written in the history books of the Elephant Empire.”

Hearing such honest words, many younger Reclassers became extremely emotional.

Only a few experienced Reclassers kept serious faces.

Behind honor often lies great danger.

Yet, even knowing this, they didn’t want to back down.

They weren’t from the Elephant Empire, but they were clear: if they just watched this happen without doing anything, their own countries would soon become just like the Elephant Empire.

Aiden stood in the team of the Great Shaw Empire. He had managed to calm down a little.

Sure, the Abyss Demon geniuses were hateful, but there were other dangers hiding within this tournament.

Thinking of this, Aiden slightly shifted his gaze, using his peripheral vision to watch the direction of the The Azurecloud Empire team.

When he saw Liam, his eyes narrowed slightly, flashing a bit of surprise and confusion.

Right now, Liam was standing with his head down behind Miles.

Aiden couldn’t see Liam’s face, but he could tell his legs were trembling slightly.

That wasn’t normal.

In previous fights, Liam had felt completely different to Aiden. Now, this Liam looked just like an ordinary person.

As Aiden was deep in thought, Xander and Robert hurriedly left the room. Other contestants either gathered in groups to chat or simply walked out to call their families.

In just a moment, the room was half empty.

After a brief pause, Aiden walked straight toward Miles.

Miles saw him coming and his face instantly darkened.

Without hesitation, he turned to the others from the The Azurecloud Empire and said, “Let’s go.”

But no one followed him—except for Liam.

Aiden frowned slightly.

Both Liam and Miles felt strange to him right now.

At this point, Aiden was becoming more convinced than ever that WraithJack’s second theory was the truth: Liam wasn’t human, but a Wraith who had taken over a human body.

But what was his goal?

Aiden thought for a moment. No matter what Liam wanted, the fact that he joined this Global Reclasser Exchange Tournament meant he would act during tomorrow’s competition.

The best course of action was to tell Robert or a human divine powerhouse about this.

However, Aiden wasn’t sure if Robert would believe him. According to WraithJack, a Wraith hiding inside a human body can fall asleep, and even a divine powerhouse wouldn’t notice any anomaly.

Still, it was worth a try. Aiden didn’t hesitate.

He walked straight out of the meeting room and asked the staff nearby where Robert was.

Three minutes later, down the hotel corridor, Aiden raised his hand to knock on a door. But before he could touch it, Robert’s voice came from inside: “Come in, Aiden.”

The door slid open automatically.

Aiden saw Robert busy at his desk.

Robert didn’t even look up as he asked, “What’s wrong?”

Aiden walked in and closed the door behind him. Looking serious, he asked, “Do you trust me?”

Robert paused slightly. He lifted his head from the thick stack of documents and said, “If this were the first time I met you, I wouldn’t have trusted you. But your performance has won some of my trust. So, what is it?”

Aiden locked his eyes on Robert. He was ready to use the supreme blessing of Miko at any moment.

After a short silence, he slowly said, “There is a Wraith hiding among the contestants.”

As soon as the words left his mouth, Robert couldn’t help but laugh. “Aiden, do you think I’m too busy and just came here to joke with me?”

“If there really were a Wraith, I would have found it already. Besides, I told you that divine powerhouses will be present at tomorrow’s team competition. Even if there were a hidden Wraith, it would have been so scared it would have quit.”

Seeing Robert’s reaction, Aiden sighed quietly in his heart.

It seemed impossible to make people believe things like this.

The authority of the Great Venerable and the divine powerhouses made his words sound like a joke to others.

But Aiden still wanted to try one more time.

If Robert still didn’t believe him, he would have to watch Liam closely during tomorrow’s tournament himself.

Thinking quickly, Aiden said fast, “Do you know WraithJack or Goust?”

Robert frowned and shook his head. “Alright, Aiden. I know you’re worried about tomorrow’s tournament. But with me and the divine powerhouses here, the kind of thing you’re talking about will never happen. You probably don’t understand how strong the divine powerhouses are.”

“It’s getting late. Go back and rest early. I hope you perform better tomorrow.”

Another failure.

Aiden looked at Robert helplessly, then turned toward the door, his hand resting on the handle. But then he stopped, his expression serious.

“If you truly believe me, can you please pass everything I just said to the human divine powerhouses?”

Robert smiled and waved it off casually. “Sure, I’ll pass the message along when I have time.”

Thud.

Aiden closed the door behind him.

Robert shook his head with a smile. He had too much else to do anyway.

Besides, telling the divine powerhouses about something that was clearly impossible was just a waste of their time.

Time flew by. By the time Robert finished his busy work, it was late at night.

He walked to the window, looking toward the front lines of the battlefield, and let out a quiet sigh.

“The danger facing humanity is getting worse by the day. And to make matters worse, there’s already disagreement among the divine powerhouses.”

“Sigh… If only we had more time to cultivate more strong individuals,” he thought.

After a moment of thought, Robert finally pulled out a special device used to contact the divine powerhouses.

[My Lord, do you know WraithJack and WraithGoust?]

As soon as he sent the message, he began to regret it. He was just about to put the device away when a reply came through.
