Chapter 2858: 1565: Moli's Past (Part 2)
Capítulo 2858: Chapter 1565: Moli’s Past (Part 2)
Moli shrugged and went on, “So during that period, all kinds of Holy Ceremonies were held in quick succession. The Ten Thousand Clans all refused to believe they were the ones abandoned.”
“And the matter of the Forest Language Singers cooperating with the Dark Elf Priests to host the ceremonies happened against that backdrop. Back then, every clan was racking their brains trying to re-establish contact with the Deities; under those circumstances, something like that isn’t surprising at all.”
“As for the final outcome, it’s obvious—it was all in vain.”
Teresa nodded heavily and agreed, “Although later on the relationship between the Dark Elves and the Forest Elves gradually grew distant, this painting was still preserved.”
“I didn’t expect you lot to have kept a painting from that time. The Forest Language Singer in the painting should be my grandmother. As for us, we basically didn’t get to keep anything—those furious old fossils seized it all. Later on, ‘Forest Language Singer’ became little more than a dispensable symbol, probably with a status even lower than yours.”
Moli let out a soft sigh and shook her head helplessly. “By the time it got to my generation, even the family Castle was gone. I’m literally homeless.”
“Why would it end up like that? Even if I can’t hear divine oracles, there’s still plenty of work that needs me.”
Teresa clearly hadn’t expected someone with the same Occupation as her to be in such a completely different situation, and her face was full of puzzlement.
In the Dark Elf Kingdom, although her family’s position was far inferior to what it once was, they still occupied a place among the great houses.
“It’s because of the [Divine Stone].”
Moli nodded to Teresa and replied, “I’m sure you know this as well—the [Divine Stone] brings Divine Revelation, and the more you collect, the further the Divine Revelation goes. But this kind of revelation is totally different from what it was in the Silver Moon Era.”
“Your Excellency is right. In the Silver Moon Era, what the Divine Revelation brought was usually knowledge the Deities bestowed upon the Ten Thousand Clans, guiding them on how to live better.”
Teresa nodded in agreement and added, “Whereas after the Era of Blankness, the revelations that come from collecting [Divine Stone] are more like commands or missions, and they’re all about how to gather more [Divine Stone].”
As an insignificant member of her family, Teresa’s understanding of the [Divine Stone] was still not as deep as Leo Ray’s, but she at least knew these basics.
“Exactly—that’s the problem. Those old fossils couldn’t accept this mission-style revelation, yet they couldn’t blame the Deities, so naturally they turned their anger on my family.”
Moli’s sighs grew heavier as she continued, “As far as I know, this didn’t only happen in the Forest Elf Kingdom where I’m from. The situation in the other Forest Elf branches was more or less the same.”
Hearing Moli talk up to this point, Leo Ray nodded thoughtfully.
Thinking it over, that really was the situation. As an Otherworldly Lord who had never experienced the Silver Moon Era, he didn’t have any particular feelings about the Divine Revelation brought by the [Divine Stone]. But the Forest Elf Elders Moli spoke of were probably all survivors from the Silver Moon Era; that kind of gap, even to the point of flying into a rage out of humiliation, wasn’t surprising.
After all, following the Era of Blankness, when the Deities left this land, not only were there no more new Chosen Sons of God and no more divine favor, but instead the prompting voice used new Divine Revelations to order the Ten Thousand Clans to gather [Divine Stone] in order to uncover the truth of the Era of Blankness. The contrast with before was indeed enormous.
“We still don’t know why the prompting voice is doing this, but one thing’s for sure—there must be a deep reason behind it.”
Leo Ray pulled his thoughts back and looked over at Moli’s gloomy face again.
He had always been extremely curious about this girl’s identity; he hadn’t expected the truth to be like this.
No wonder she had been wandering among the Ten Thousand Clans all this time—it turned out she didn’t even have a place to stay. Behind that carefree facade, she was hiding such a past.
“No wonder this girl disappeared for so long and the Forest Elves didn’t react at all. She’d already become a dispensable existence.”
Thinking that to himself, Leo Ray then changed the subject. “All right, this isn’t the time to dwell on that. Don’t forget we’re about to head to the Dark Half-Elves’ realm. While Administrator I is making the final arrangements, let’s get something to eat first.”
With that, Leo Ray nodded to Rudy Blues and the other Chefs standing by, instructing them to bring out all of Moli’s favorite desserts.
Even if this girl was unwelcome among the Forest Elves and even homeless, she was still an indispensable member of their side and had rendered plenty of service. Naturally, he wasn’t about to let her suffer any grievance.
“Human brat, you…”
Seeing Rudy Blues and the others quickly bring out a spread of delicacies—all of them her favorite flavors—Moli’s eyes reddened. She didn’t know what to say for a moment and only sniffled.
“All right, all right. I just want you to eat more before you use Teleportation Magic again. I’m not running a charity here.”
Leo Ray only shrugged and didn’t say anything more.
“Don’t think you can buy me off like this. Don’t forget what you promised me!”
Moli took a huge bite of strawberry cream Cake and mumbled a grumble through her full mouth; her eyes looked even redder.
It wasn’t long before Administrator I’s image was projected in front of Leo Ray through the Communication Crystal. “Your Majesty, this humble one has already made contact with Prince Chasing Shadow of the Dark Half-Elves. He has agreed to meet with you, and the location is the Dark Half-Elves’ capital, Shadow Rift Abyss!”
“Excellent. Your Excellency Administrator, you’ve worked hard. We’ll set out at once.”
Leo Ray inclined his head slightly, then nodded to Elder Bing waiting at his side.
Under the guidance of Lila, Hollis, and Teresa, Leo Ray had long since locked onto the location of Shadow Rift Abyss on the Magic Sandbox.
As a flash of blue light swept across the surrounding Magic Screen, the scenery around them shifted in an instant, and they found themselves in a canyon filled with clusters of glowing Magic.
From everyone’s introduction, Leo Ray already knew:
This was Micro-light Canyon, famed for the luminescent Magic Moss that covered it at night. It was the Gate to Shadow Rift Abyss.
“Let’s move out.”
Leo Ray gathered his elites and took the first step forward.
Before long, when Leo Ray and his group emerged from the City Gate, they were greeted by a riot of color.
Compared to what he’d seen on the Magic Screen, the Magic Moss carpeting the ground and the Cliff walls around them was clearly far more vivid in color. Bathed in the moonlight pouring down from the night sky, it interwove into a scene that looked partly like a shimmering starry sky, partly like walls of multicolored glass.
The group hadn’t gone far when their steps suddenly halted. The next moment, countless black silhouettes appeared at every point in the canyon at once, injecting a sudden hint of killing intent into the previously tranquil scene.
“Are you the party of Your Majesty of the Humans?”
A hoarse, steady voice rang out. The leading shadowy commander stepped out of the darkness and looked toward Leo Ray at the head of the group.
“We are. Coming here at such a late hour, we fear we’re imposing.”
Leo Ray inclined his head slightly and nodded to him.
The newcomer’s build was sturdy, his black Leather Armor stretched tight over his chest muscles. However, with a black leather mask covering his face, it was impossible to see his features clearly.
But from the ears that weren’t very long yet somewhat pointed, he was unmistakably a Half-Elf.
“Understood. The meeting place is ready. Follow me.”
The shadowy commander in the lead gave Leo Ray’s group another careful once-over before turning to lead the way.
Meanwhile, all the surrounding shadowy Soldiers slipped silently back into the darkness, and the canyon instantly returned to its former stillness, as if nothing had ever happened.
Led by the shadowy commander, the group sped along the Passage running down through the heart of the canyon into the depths of the earth. After traversing a series of treacherous underground tunnels and maze-like underground cave systems, a most extraordinary giant city came into view.
