Chapter 2723 1495: Exploration and Sudden Upheaval (Part 2)
“Your Excellency, in truth, I am an Otherworldly Lord who has descended upon this land, and naturally, there are some extraordinary aspects about me.”
Leo Ray did not say much, just smiled slightly.
“…What is an Otherworldly Lord?”
Moli, who had just escaped from the spatial rift, was even more puzzled, evidently still unaware of this information.
“In short, it’s something unusual.”
Leo Ray didn’t continue explaining, but instead, he restrained his smile and seriously said, “Alright, even if we know that a Deity is orchestrating all this, based on previous experiences, the path ahead is no less dangerous than a confrontation with demons, and is bound to be perilous, so everyone must be on high alert.”
After Leo Ray finished speaking, all the experts nodded solemnly in agreement, and then, under Leo Ray’s guidance, they continued to head toward the ancient relics.
It didn’t take long before the group officially stepped into the long-sealed underground ancient city.
According to Moli’s perception, the faint and terrifying space fluctuations from earlier had quietly vanished, brewing something unknown.
As they proceeded, Leo Ray further noticed.
Only a few houses were well-preserved here, the majority had become broken walls and ruins, covered in dark magic moss, evidently having experienced a war, perhaps even destroyed during the Era of Blankness.
Besides this, there are two major issues.
First, as Moli and Broy mentioned earlier, this is not a Dwarf Elf city, yet the entrance is equipped with a Dwarf Elf teleportation array, which surely has a reason.
Second, was the initial source of magic communication, could it be another deceiving prompting voice to ensnare them?
As Leo Ray was pondering, Calvin’s aged voice rang beside him, “Your Majesty, based on my observations, these relics seem to be from the Ancient Human Tribe!”
“Indeed, I share the same view.”
Grey Elder nodded in agreement and said, “Many architectural styles here are remarkably similar to those deep within Radiant City. Although we haven’t seen any emblematic emblems or detailed features like patterns, they should be the work of the Ancient Human Tribe.”
Hearing this, Leo Ray nodded slightly.
According to what he knew, since the Era of Blankness, numerous relics of the Ancient Human Tribe have indeed been discovered on this land, but most were heavily damaged, reduced to piles of broken walls and debris.
The best-preserved structure currently is the Pelican Princess’s palace, which is where the main hall of the Temple of Light is located. Another relatively intact site is the palace of the old Silver Fire King beneath Brilliant City.
After the Black Abyss Brotherhood was eradicated, both locations dispatched many archaeologists to research, including those led by Grey Elder from the Mercenary Guild and Calvin from the Coldflame Palace, so it’s not surprising for these two to have such insights.
“So these are ancient relics of the Ancient Human Tribe. If I remember correctly, at that time, the most powerful overlord was likely the Silver Fire Kingdom, right?”
Moli pondered slightly and spoke.
After saying this, Moli shifted her tone and looked at Leo Ray, whispering, “You must have inherited quite a few treasures from the Ancient Human Tribe, right? Where else would you get your trump cards?”
“Whatever Your Excellency says.”
Leo Ray shrugged nonchalantly and shifted the conversation, “At a time like this, Your Excellency, please don’t try to pry out my secrets.”
“Tch, don’t you often try to pry into my secrets too?”
Moli rolled her eyes and pouted, “Honestly, nothing good ever comes from following you. I just wanted to stroll a bit but ended up getting involved with a Deity. Even if I told those stubborn elders in the clan, they’d probably say I’m talking nonsense.”
As Moli’s voice trailed off, Grey Elder and Calvin’s joyous exclamations almost simultaneously burst forth, reaching Leo Ray’s ears, “Your Majesty, these indeed are relics of the Silver Fire Kingdom. We have found definitive evidence!”
Looking towards the source of the voice, Leo Ray noticed that ahead of them stood a partially collapsed building, and on the remaining wall was a mottled wolf-head emblem, the symbol of the Silver Fire Kingdom.
Just as Leo Ray observed this, Moli’s voice grew slightly tense, blurting out, “That extremely terrifying spatial energy fluctuation has appeared again!”
With Moli’s voice, our group noticed with surprise that the once-empty surroundings suddenly stirred with figures radiating vast auras, and volleys of arrows were already whistling towards us.
“Strike back!”
Since Little Jie had already activated the Absolute Defense Barrier, and our group was extremely vigilant, spells and arrows were immediately shot towards those unexpected figures.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Amidst a series of violent magic explosions, dust rose sharply, making the already dim space even more indistinct.
When the dust began to settle, everyone noticed that the attacking figures had all disappeared, and surprisingly, the arrows that came at us seemed to have vanished without reaching our Absolute Defense Barrier.
“What happened? Was it an illusion?”
Kara widened her eyes, full of disbelief. Although she had advanced to Tier 4 level, compared to the other immensely powerful Tier 6 experts, she was insignificant, overwhelmed by the aura the others exuded earlier.
“No, there were no energy fluctuations from any illusion technique.”
Moli evidently had some means to counter and detect illusion techniques, affirming, “Those figures were real, but their disappearance was just as real.”
“What does this mean? Did they use teleportation magic?”
Broy scratched his head, confused, “But that doesn’t make sense, how could those arrows have also been teleported?”
“Indeed, they were teleported, but I didn’t sense any teleportation energy fluctuations, what on earth is going on?”
Moli’s voice was also filled with confusion, clearly encountering this bizarre situation for the first time.
“But even if they were all teleported, why would they do this? Is it a warning to us?”
With a frown on the rough blue face of the tree-born presence, while closely monitoring the surroundings, he spoke, “This is utterly perplexing.”
“Moreover, in lifeless ancient relics, suddenly a group of formidable figures emerge, this in itself defies logic, doesn’t it?”
Fanny also knitted her brows tightly, fully vigilant, “It’s simply unfathomable.”
Listening to the puzzled chatter, Leo Ray appeared thoughtful.
Concerning the attackers’ identity, he could only surmise they might be overlord-level lords from another realm.
Yet this time, there was no prompting voice signaling anything about lord competitions, and just as everyone wondered, why did their attack cease halfway? What are they really up to? Are they genuinely from another realm?
As Leo Ray pondered, more figures exuding vast auras reappeared, instantly filling the area with a menacing air.
This time, these powerful figures appeared directly in front of our group, almost at the Absolute Defense Barrier.
Amazed, Leo Ray finally discerned their true nature, they were mere outlines, strikingly similar to the Space Magic Puppet Moli had summoned before!
“What? Are these?!”
Moli also noticed, her eyes widening instinctively, but before the group could react, something even more unbelievable occurred.
