Chapter 112: Chapter 102: Time [2 in 1]

She stood there in a daze for a long time, eventually concluding that her evolution during her illness had delayed her for a few days. Otherwise, it was truly hard to explain how she had slept for so long. She had thought her body was just too weak, which was why her limbs felt soft after waking up... If she had slept for another day, she probably would have starved to death.

Huai Yu stood at the door, looking at the desolate and empty area, feeling a hint of melancholy once again. Rose Mansion had a total of three plots of land. She had claimed Mansion Number One, but was no one coming for Numbers Two and Three? With such a large area, it wasn’t like the Rose Corridor attacked people all the time... She sighed silently, double-checked the things she was bringing, and then got on her bicycle.

The late April breeze was already quite warm. Following the rain, the temperature had significantly risen. As Huai Yu rode her bike, she even felt herself sweating slightly. When she asked the Rose Corridor to open the gate this time, she wasn’t as polite—only slightly polite.

"Please open the gate," she said softly and gently, not really daring to speak too loudly.

The rose branches RUSTLED and trembled, quickly moving aside to create a space for one person to pass. Huai Yu familiarly pushed her bike to the side, using the branches and tall grass to camouflage it slightly, before stepping out of the safe zone guarded by the Rose Corridor once again.

Looking up, the entire mountain range of Sanqing Mountain stood tall and intertwined, incredibly steep. The dense trees obscured the jagged, bizarre rocks and the wooden walkways that had once been meant for tourists. She thought carefully for a moment, then groped her way up the mountain along a small path.

Were there any distinct features about the place where she had woken up?

A giant tree cocoon, crisscrossing trees and shrubs... When she had walked outwards in a daze, those branches had RUSTLED as they retreated to the side... Was it in a cave? Or had she been hidden by the plants that covered the mountains and plains? But it shouldn’t have been too far, right? Although she had been a bit tired when she first walked out of the Rose Corridor, it didn’t seem like she had walked for very long.

Huai Yu began to regret it. If she had known, she would have left a mark when she woke up. Now, with layers of mystery surrounding her, she was truly afraid of being somehow connected to Wu Yue! And what if she really was the one who accelerated the growth of the Rose Corridor, yet no one knew about it, and she looked like she had almost died... Just thinking about it made her want to cry from the grievance! For this reason alone, she absolutely had to figure it out.

But...

Huai Yu panted as she rested her hands on her knees, looking down the mountain. She could still faintly see one or two of the knots she had tied on the trees as markers, but she still had absolutely no clue about the location of the tree cocoon from her memory. Looking again at the vast, dense mountains and lush trees, Huai Yu thought for a moment, picked a direction, and began searching toward one side again.

Meanwhile, at the trading market.

A new month was fast approaching. Boss Tang sat behind the counter, looking miserable as he sighed deeply. He couldn’t help but feel that even though it hadn’t even been a month, he had already become haggard. Just as he was looking in the mirror and touching his thinned cheeks, he saw a familiar figure walk through the door.

"Little Sister Yu!"

He leaped off his stool in pleasant surprise, his round, chubby body rolling over swiftly like a ball. He looked at her with anticipation.

"You’re here?! Why did it take you so long this time?"

Before she could answer, he took the heavy woven basket from her. Sure enough, it was once again filled to the brim with bean sprouts.

Huai Yu smiled but didn’t say anything. She had spent that entire day searching on the mountain, only returning home when night fell, and had truly found absolutely nothing. It was baffling. When she had emerged from the tree cocoon, it felt like it hadn’t taken much time to walk to the Rose Corridor, yet she simply couldn’t find it. After such an exhausting ordeal, she had to rest for an entire day to feel like she had recovered.

Then, she had to keep an eye on the vegetable seedlings that were growing vigorously after the heavy rain—potatoes, sweet potatoes, peanuts, yams, and the like. Finally, she scattered all of Ke Taichiro’s balls into the soil. With all these delays, another day passed.

Huai Yu thought about her plan to build a bathroom, then recalled the price of cement she had seen during her first visit to the trading market. She decided to save up a few more points. However, she couldn’t dig up too many bamboo shoots from the bamboo forest for the time being. Big Pup and Second Pup truly loved poking at the shoots, to the point where Kuang Biao hadn’t even been producing new shoots recently. After much thought, she concluded that bean sprouts were the cheapest and had zero cost. They didn’t even require much manual labor.

And so, Boss Tang was already familiarly weighing the bean sprouts on the scale. Purified soybeans combined with ordinary water filtered by the barnyard grass tree resulted in an exceptionally stable Mutant Value of 9. Once the transaction was complete, Huai Yu was just about to chat when she saw Boss Tang smiling with particular amiability.

"Little Sister Yu, your place must be quite spacious, right?"
