Chapter 242: Isn’t That Miss Morgan Even Better at Instigating Than Me?

Jasper Sterling’s gaze swept over each person present.

From Caleb Lowell, to Pauline Shaw, and finally landing on Luna Morgan.

"Do you also believe that Jane Lancaster instigated them to come and harass you?" he asked.

Luna Morgan’s breath caught. She didn’t understand why he was asking this.

"I don’t think this has anything to do with Miss Lancaster..."

Before she could finish, Chloe Dave cut her off. "Stop pressuring Luna. You know she can’t lie, yet you’re forcing her to say something against her conscience. Don’t you think that’s going too far?"

The smile on Jasper Sterling’s lips deepened. "It seems you’ve been dissatisfied with your ’senior’ for a long time."

"I’m not dissatisfied. I despise some of the things she’s done."

"Then why don’t you tell us what she’s done?" Jasper Sterling coaxed.

Jane Lancaster was actually quite curious to hear what other accusations he had against her.

’What’s with Jasper Sterling? Why do I get the feeling he’s setting a trap for someone to walk into?’

Chloe Dave clammed up and refused to say more. He didn’t believe for a second that Jasper Sterling was being this kind.

He would soon find the key evidence of Jasper Sterling and Jane Lancaster colluding to harm Caleb Lowell and Luna Morgan. Then he would thoroughly humiliate them.

Saying too much now would only alert the enemy.

Jasper Sterling was a bit disappointed. ’So he’s not just reckless. Looks like he’s grown a bit of a brain, but not much.’

"No," Caleb Lowell said, his eyes filled with fury. "Howard Lucas hurt her so badly. How dare you come looking for her?"

Jane Lancaster was speechless.

’Hey, why are you answering for them? Isn’t this blatant coercion?’

Walter Lucas and Mr. Lucas said in unison, "No!"

But the middle-aged woman answered honestly, "Yes!"

The three of them looked at each other for a moment. Flora Miller’s scalp tingled. ’What’s wrong? Was I not supposed to say that?’

Walter Lucas was cursing his luck. He and his father had met Caleb Lowell back then, and they knew how terrifying he could be.

Back then, when Jane Lancaster was still clinging to life, Caleb Lowell had looked ready to drag their entire family down with her.

They were still terrified of him.

But Flora Miller had never met Caleb Lowell. Instead, she had mistaken Jasper Sterling for Jane Lancaster’s fiancé and couldn’t understand what her husband and father-in-law were so afraid of.

Chloe Dave took a deep breath and looked at Flora Miller. "Ma’am, had you already gone to see Jane Lancaster?"

Flora Miller: "Yes."

Walter Lucas’s eyes darted around, and he quickly added, "We wanted to ask Miss Lancaster for help. It was Miss Lancaster who said Luna Morgan was rich and kind-hearted, so that’s why we came to ask Luna Morgan for money!"

Flora Miller tried to speak several times, but he stopped her.

He had long guessed that Luna Morgan would secretly delete the text, so he had taken a picture of it beforehand, leaving Jane Lancaster with no way to argue.

Caleb Lowell looked down, saying nothing. Things had already reached this point; admitting it was better than cold denial.

The curve of Jasper Sterling’s lips slowly turned upward. "But the problem is, I was the one who told them to find Luna Morgan."

Chloe Dave: "That’s impossible!"

Jasper Sterling: "When this lady came to see Jane Lancaster that day, I was also present. And as it happens, I had someone record it."

Jane Lancaster looked at Jasper Sterling in astonishment. She never would have imagined that he had actually recorded their conversation back then!

"Did everyone hear that clearly? Miss Lancaster only told this lady’s father-in-law and husband to come talk to her about money. She never mentioned Miss Morgan’s name."

Gavin paused after speaking. "Of course, if any of you don’t believe it, I have the full, unedited recording right here. It’s quite a bit longer, so you can take it with you to review carefully."

Chloe Dave was completely stunned. ’How could this be?’

"Even if she didn’t say it herself, she used President Sterling to achieve her goal! President Sterling admitted it himself, so he can’t deny that, can he?"

Chloe Dave paused. "You’re the president of a major corporation. Inciting poor people to commit extortion... that wouldn’t sound very good if it got out, would it?"

Jane Lancaster’s expression turned cold as she stared at him. "Does having a low IQ affect your hearing? Which one of Jasper Sterling’s sentences incited them to go extort Luna Morgan?"

Although Jasper Sterling did intend to redirect the trouble, that was very different from incitement.

She couldn’t stand by and let someone sling mud at Jasper Sterling.

Caleb Lowell: "Chloe, shut up! From listening to this recording, Young Master Sterling did not engage in any form of incitement."

"Thank you for clearing my name, President Lowell," Jasper Sterling said with a smile.

Caleb Lowell’s expression was a little cold. He felt a strange sense of unease. Why was Jane Lancaster so quick to defend him?

Jasper Sterling: "If simply saying Miss Morgan’s name counts as incitement, then wouldn’t Miss Morgan be an even better instigator than I am?"

Luna Morgan’s eyes widened slightly, not understanding how she was being accused again.
