Chapter 394: Chapter 241: Interrogation 2

Just then, a melodious voice rang out.

Fang Yue spun around to see Yun Qing emerging slowly from the shadows of the room, a faint smirk on her face.

"Yun Qing, you really are something else," Fang Yue said coldly, on high alert. "Did you plan all of this?"

Yun Qing gave a slight smile, not answering Fang Yue’s question directly. "Fang Yue, you’re very clever to have tracked me here. But some things are best left unknown."

"Fang Yue, you don’t understand. This world is far more complicated than you can imagine. Knowing certain things will do you no good."

"So, you were just going to let me be kept in the dark, used by you all, and possibly even get killed because of it?"

Fang Yue’s tone was filled with scorn and indignation; he couldn’t accept being used as a pawn without even realizing it.

Yun Qing fell silent for a moment, her gaze deepening.

"Fang Yue, I admit it. We did use you. But we had no other choice. Our goal is for the sake of a greater good, for the sake of more people. You are just one small pawn, but your role was crucial."

"A greater good? More people? What exactly are you plotting?" Fang Yue’s mind was filled with doubt and confusion. He was desperate to know the truth.

However, Yun Qing didn’t answer him directly, changing the subject instead.

"Fang Yue, did you know? In this world, many things can’t be distinguished in simple black and white. Our methods may seem wrong to you, but in our eyes, they are necessary."

"Necessary? You can just sacrifice innocent people for your own interests?" Fang Yue couldn’t accept Yun Qing’s reasoning, his heart filled with rage and indignation.

"What is your plan? Why use me? And what is your relationship with the Black Shadow?"

Yun Qing took a deep breath, deciding to reveal some of the truth to Fang Yue. "Fang Yue, our organization has been secretly plotting a great revolution.

"This revolution will change the entire landscape of Gongzhou Prefecture, and may even affect the whole world. And the Black Shadow is an important member of our organization who has been assisting us from the shadows."

"Fang Yue, this world is filled with injustice and oppression. The weak common folk are bullied by the powerful, and innocent people are sacrificed in the squabbles of the elite.

"We want to change all of this, to fight for a fair chance for the weak, to bring true peace to this world."

Hearing this, a mocking, unreadable smile appeared on Fang Yue’s face as he looked at Yun Qing. "Are you waiting for the poison to take effect?"

Fang Yue’s figure moved like the wind, and in an instant, he was in front of Yun Qing. He reached out a large hand, grabbing directly for her neck.

Yun Qing’s expression changed. She never thought Fang Yue would attack so suddenly.

Then again, even if she had anticipated it, there was nothing she could have done, as she knew no Martial Arts at all.

A flash of panic crossed Yun Qing’s eyes. She quickly retreated, trying to dodge Fang Yue’s attack.

However, Fang Yue was too fast. She had no time to react and could only watch helplessly as he seized her.

After being captured by Fang Yue, a sense of powerlessness washed over Yun Qing. She knew she was now completely under his control, her life and death hanging on his every whim.

However, she didn’t give up. Instead, she struggled to remain calm, trying to find an opportunity to escape.

"Fang Yue, let me explain."

Yun Qing said, struggling, "I know you’re furious about what we did, but we had no choice. Our goal is for a greater good, for the sake of more people."

"No choice? For a greater good?"

Fang Yue sneered. "Tell me everything you know right now. If you don’t, I can’t guarantee what I’ll do to you!"

It had to be said, Yun Qing was an absolutely stunning woman. Her beauty was delicate, yet alluring, and even in this moment of crisis, that unique charisma hadn’t vanished.

The trace of stubbornness and determination in her eyes only made her more pitiable, making one want to pull her into a fierce embrace and protect her.

However, Fang Yue knew he couldn’t let himself be fooled by Yun Qing’s appearance.

He forcibly suppressed the emotional fluctuations in his heart and stared coldly at Yun Qing, waiting for her answer.

Yun Qing took a deep breath, forcing herself to remain calm.

She knew the situation was extremely disadvantageous for her; she had to find a way to turn the tables.

She decided to use her feminine charm to beguile Fang Yue and fight for a chance of survival.

She lifted her head slightly, gazing at Fang Yue with glistening eyes, her voice trembling slightly:

"Fang Yue, do you really think I’m that kind of cold, heartless person? I admit we used you, but it was for a greater purpose. Believe me, once our plan succeeds, it will bring hope and salvation to countless people."

As she spoke, a single tear slid from the corner of her eye and traced a path down her cheek. She looked utterly pitiful and fragile, the very image of a damsel in distress.

However, Fang Yue was not moved by Yun Qing’s tears.

He had experienced too much deceit and trickery. He knew all too well that in this world, beauty was a blade that could scrape a man to the bone. Especially with a woman like Yun Qing—the more beautiful she was, the more venomous.

Fang Yue watched Yun Qing coldly, his eyes devoid of pity or sympathy.

He knew that at a time like this, any trace of softness could land him in even deeper trouble.

"Yun Qing, drop the act. Do you think a few tears are enough to make me let you go?"

Fang Yue’s voice was frigid and firm. "I’m telling you, it’s impossible. Unless you tell me the truth, don’t blame me for being ruthless."

Staring into Fang Yue’s cold eyes, Yun Qing’s heart trembled. She knew that this time, she might have truly met her match.

Still, she didn’t give up. Instead, she decided to try another strategy.

She wiped away her tears and adopted a firm expression:

"Fang Yue, I admit we used you. But I’m also telling you that our cause is a righteous one.

"We want to overthrow this corrupt imperial court and fight for a better life for the common people. If you join us, I guarantee you will get what you desire."

Hearing this, Fang Yue couldn’t help but sneer. "Yun Qing, do you take me for a three-year-old child? To be fooled by these high-sounding words?

"Let me tell you, I’m not interested in your plan. I just want to know the truth, and then I’ll decide my own path."

Looking at Fang Yue’s resolute gaze, Yun Qing knew that this time, she truly wouldn’t be able to persuade him.

She took a deep breath, deciding to reveal part of the truth. "Fang Yue, I can tell you some of it. But you have to promise me you won’t leak it."

Fang Yue smiled faintly. "Yun Qing, do you really think you’re in a position to be making deals with me right now?"

Yun Qing’s expression changed, but she knew Fang Yue was right. She nodded helplessly:

"Fine, I’ll tell you. But you can only know a part of it. Our organization is extremely strict. If this gets out, my life will be in danger."

Fang Yue nodded. "Speak. As long as what you say is true, I’ll consider letting you go."

Yun Qing took a deep breath and began to speak.

She recounted how she joined the organization, as well as some of its basic details and objectives.

However, when Fang Yue heard Yun Qing mention the organization’s goals, his expression changed abruptly.

He realized that the goals Yun Qing described matched some of the information he had previously learned.

This made him realize the organization might truly have ulterior motives and conspiracies.

"Yun Qing, is everything you said true?" Fang Yue asked, staring into her eyes.

"Of course, every word of it!" Yun Qing’s gaze was firm, meeting Fang Yue’s without the slightest hesitation.

Fang Yue’s gaze narrowed. The Primordial Qi throughout his body transformed into a tangible pressure that bore down fiercely upon Yun Qing.

The immense pressure instantly struck Yun Qing’s mind like a giant battering ram.
