Chapter 304: Chapter 201: Escape (Part 2)

Such strength was astounding, truly unimaginable.

Wu Yong’s father, Wu Shengkui, was the Great Power Celestial King. That was precisely why he had been granted the title of Celestial King and command over Prince Wucheng’s elite army.

Fang Yue never would have expected that this Great Power Celestial King was actually nearby, and had arrived so quickly.

"Hmph! You recognize me? And yet you dared to slaughter my son. You deserve to die ten thousand deaths!"

Wu Shengkui’s face was ice-cold, his tone chilling.

He didn’t strike at once, however. Instead, he simply stared coldly at Fang Yue.

He planned to torture this man to death, offering his blood and soul to his son’s departed spirit.

He was long practiced in such methods of torture.

And so, he watched Fang Yue with a cruel amusement, the corners of his lips even curling into a smirk.

’I’ll kill this man like a cat toying with a mouse!’

"So, you deserve to die. And not just you—I will hunt down every last one of your family and friends and kill them all!" Wu Shengkui snarled with a vicious grin.

As he spoke, he pointed a finger toward Fang Yue.

SWOOSH!

A strand of invisible Primordial Qi shot out. As fast as lightning, it vanished in a flash, piercing straight through Fang Yue’s leg.

SPURT!

Blood sprayed as he instantly lost most of the feeling in his leg.

"Ah!" Fang Yue cried out in pain and quickly crouched down.

But then his expression changed drastically.

He discovered to his horror that the invisible Primordial Qi had actually drilled into his body and was wreaking havoc.

It made half his body go numb, leaving him unable to muster any strength.

’Worthy of the name Great Power Celestial King!’

A single move had nearly stripped Fang Yue of his ability to fight. The attack had been so fast that Fang Yue was hit before he could even react.

This was only thanks to his extraordinary physical defenses. Otherwise, that single blow would have been enough to cripple his leg.

"How interesting. No wonder you were able to kill my son. To take a Heaven-Seizing Finger from me and only suffer a light wound... such a physique is truly impressive."

Wu Shengkui sneered, a cold glint in his eyes. "But resistance is futile. Today, I will make you beg for death!"

He strode forward, a terrifying killing intent erupting from his body. His aura was overwhelming, as if a primordial beast had reawakened.

The next moment, another Finger Wind shot towards Fang Yue’s left hand.

This time, however, Fang Yue was ready. As his opponent moved, Fang Yue’s qi and blood surged, and he threw himself into the lake beside them.

BOOM!

He had just plunged into the water when a deafening roar echoed in his ears, and the entire lake shuddered violently.

Wu Shengkui’s Finger Force struck the water, instantly creating a massive wave. The lake churned, surging with the power of a tsunami.

Fang Yue seized the opportunity to dive deeper. The water’s resistance briefly shielded him, allowing him to regain his balance.

He turned his head to look, only to see Wu Shengkui still floating above the lake’s surface, his figure tall and imposing, like an indestructible spear.

Moreover, his opponent’s focus was locked onto him. Fang Yue had the distinct feeling that Wu Shengkui could still attack him, even through the water.

This made him shudder in horror!

’This man’s power is terrifying!’

’Transformation... a master of Transformation is this powerful!’

’No wonder Wu Shengkui ranks third among all of Prince Wucheng’s experts! He must be at the Peak of Transformation, just one step away from the Land Immortal realm.’

SWISH!

At this moment, Wu Shengkui attacked once more.

A Finger Seal materialized out of thin air and crashed into the lake, instantly blasting a huge hole in the water.

SPLASH...

Water sprayed everywhere, currents surged wildly, and lake water shot into the sky.

Then Fang Yue felt his body tighten, as if an invisible giant hand had grasped him and was pulling him up from the bottom of the lake.

’This is bad!’

Fang Yue’s expression changed drastically. He struggled desperately, his wild power erupting and churning the lake water even more violently.

Unfortunately, his strength was far inferior to Wu Shengkui’s. Under the pressure of his opponent’s power, he couldn’t break free at all.

"Heh heh... struggle. Struggle with all your might. You won’t get another chance," Wu Shengkui smirked, his pristine white teeth making his grin seem all the more savage and terrifying.

Then with a vicious flick, he threw Fang Yue against the nearby mountain wall.

BAM!

This rock was extremely solid, weighing several tons, its sturdiness far beyond that of ordinary rock.

The impact sent a deafening crack through the air, and excruciating pain wracked Fang Yue’s body.

"Cough, cough..." Fang Yue spat out a mouthful of dark blood. He was clearly injured, and not lightly.

And just at this moment, another explosion sounded in the sky. A dozen or so figures streaked across the heavens, rushing towards Sanshui County.

These were obviously experts from the Great Wei dynasty, taking advantage of Prince Wucheng’s absence to assault the Rebel Army’s defenses.

"To choose a time like this... consider yourself lucky, kid. I’ll just have to kill you now!" Wu Shengkui’s eyes narrowed. He knew he had to return immediately and couldn’t afford any more delays. He shot Fang Yue a cold, merciless glare.

He then raised his hand, gathering a crackling ball of lightning, and thrust it toward Fang Yue’s head.

He intended to finish Fang Yue for good, leaving no chance of survival.

RUMBLE!

Just then, the lake water in front of him suddenly churned violently, forming a giant wave that swept towards him.

The great wave surged with astonishing power, like a furious dragon rising from the abyss, its gaping maw lunging to devour Wu Shengkui.

At the same time, a massive Black Shadow was visible to the naked eye, rapidly ascending from the depths.

It was colossal, roughly twenty zhang long and pitch-black, exuding a sinister gleam. Its spine was covered with sharp, backward-pointing barbs.

When its wings unfurled, they seemed to blot out the sky. The sharp edges of its wings were like divine blades, radiating a terrifying, cold light.

It opened its cavernous mouth and lunged, snapping viciously at Wu Shengkui’s arm.

"Hm? What kind of Demon Beast is this?" Wu Shengkui’s eyebrows shot up in surprise.

But his surprise vanished as quickly as it appeared. His eyes grew cold as he snapped, "A mantis trying to stop a chariot. You’re utterly insignificant!"

Then, he clenched his fist. His knuckles shone with a metallic luster as he threw a punch that seemed to shatter the very air, slamming it brutally into the Black Shadow.

BOOM!

In an instant, the Black Shadow was sent flying by his punch, landing heavily on the ground and kicking up a cloud of dust.

But it quickly scrambled back up. It stood, swaying, apparently having sustained little damage, and let out a furious roar at Wu Shengkui.

"You beast!"

Seeing this, Wu Shengkui flew into a rage.

’A mere animal dares to attack me?’

’It deserves a thousand deaths!’

Just then, the Demon Beast attacked again, opening its maw to spew roiling Flame that engulfed Wu Shengkui completely.

FWOOSH!

The Flame was intensely hot, and the stench of burning filled the air.

But Wu Shengkui seemed completely unaffected. With a cold snort, he surrounded himself with Primordial Qi.

TZZZZZ!

The flames landed on him, but couldn’t harm him in the slightest.

In that moment, he seemed forged from steel—impervious to blades, un-scalded by water or fire. He was the very picture of tyrannical, invincible power!

A quarter of an hour later, Wu Shengkui threw a savage punch that sent the Demon Beast flying.

CRACK!

Bones in the Demon Beast’s back shattered. Blood spurted as it let out a piteous wail, crashing to the ground, barely breathing.

The Demon Beast was strong, but it was still a notch below Wu Shengkui. It was never a match for him.

However, Wu Shengkui’s own clothes were tattered and his body was scorched black. He had clearly been injured in the exchange.

"He actually got away!"

Wu Shengkui turned back to the crater Fang Yue had been slammed into, but there was no longer any sign of him. He had long since vanished.

Clearly, Fang Yue had seized the opportunity to escape while he was fighting the Demon Beast.

Wu Shengkui tried to use his Sensing, but he had already lost Fang Yue’s trail.

"Consider yourself lucky, kid. After I deal with those people, I’ll come find you!"

Just then, a horn sounded from his own camp. As a commanding general, Wu Shengkui dared not jeopardize Prince Wucheng’s important business and could only hasten back.

Meanwhile, on the vast river, Fang Yue drifted on the surface, carried downstream by the current.

His chest ached, his internal organs were severely damaged, and even breathing was a struggle.

"I almost died back there. What a disaster, a total disaster!"
