Chapter 759: Chapter 323: Total Annihilation (Part 2)
PSHH!
The man failed to dodge Chu Lingguang’s sword.
Chu Lingguang’s blade pierced his throat, killing him instantly.
BANG!
More and more people were fleeing from the black palace.
There were disciples from the Cyan Cloud Sect, cultivators from the Profound Celestial Sect, experts from some Minor Sects, and even a few powerful Loose Cultivators.
Without exception, almost all of them were injured.
"Master."
Chu Lingguang saw Yang Rong among them.
A powerful cultivator from the Cyan Cloud Sect reached for the Furnace Cauldron in Yang Rong’s hands.
WHOOSH!
Chu Lingguang directed his Flying Sword toward the man’s vitals.
As a Heavenly Dao Foundation Establishment cultivator capable of fusing the Five Elements Power at will, Chu Lingguang’s strike was incredibly potent against the injured Core Formation cultivator.
The man’s expression changed. He hastily withdrew his hand, quickly formed a Seal, and tapped it against Chu Lingguang’s Flying Sword. Chu Lingguang felt the Five Elements Power on his blade being disrupted.
The Flying Sword trembled violently, threatening to fall to the ground at any moment.
The man looked on in disbelief. The Five Elements Power on Chu Lingguang’s Flying Sword was so perfectly fused that if he hadn’t acted decisively, he would have been wounded by the attack.
PSHH!
Unfortunately, while he blocked Chu Lingguang’s sword, he failed to defend against Yang Rong’s.
Although Yang Rong was injured and clutching the Furnace Cauldron, her Spiritual Perception was astonishing. Using Telekinesis, she manipulated her Flying Sword and thrust it toward the man’s vitals from afar.
The Flying Sword pierced through his chest.
The powerful Telekinesis instantly pulverized his internal organs.
PSHH!
Freed from its restraint, Chu Lingguang’s Flying Sword zipped forward at top speed and lopped off the man’s head.
Working together, the master and disciple had successfully slain a Core Formation cultivator.
Having previously killed Venerable Changxu at the entrance to the Immortal King’s Tomb, Chu Lingguang was completely unfazed by teaming up with Yang Rong to do it again.
But after killing the man, the pair drew the attention of the other experts from the Cyan Cloud Sect.
Fortunately, there were also quite a few experts from the Profound Celestial Sect within the Immortal King’s Tomb.
Everyone had their own agenda, so for the moment, no one dared to act rashly, fearing that if the situation escalated, none of them would make it out alive.
"You damn brat."
A red-nosed old man snarled, glaring at Chu Lingguang.
He was also a Core Formation cultivator.
One of his arms had been severed.
Blood streamed from the wound. He had clearly been injured inside the black palace and was now being guarded by two other Core Formation cultivators. He had seen what happened; if Chu Lingguang hadn’t launched a sneak attack, Yang Rong would never have been able to kill his junior martial brother so easily.
Chu Lingguang’s expression soured.
Being targeted by a Core Formation cultivator could be a minor annoyance or a major disaster.
’After this, I’ll have no choice but to hide out in the Profound Celestial Sect until I have a breakthrough.’
"Kill him!"
But the voice of the Nascent Soul Ghosts echoed in Chu Lingguang’s mind once more.
Chu Lingguang had a bad feeling.
The Nascent Soul Ghosts inside the Immortal King’s Tomb clearly wanted to watch the members of the Cyan Cloud Sect and Profound Celestial Sect slaughter each other. Ideally, they wanted everyone to die here.
He had only attacked just now because he’d had a clear advantage.
Now, that advantage was gone.
With the two sides in a standoff, Chu Lingguang didn’t dare make a reckless move.
So, faced with the Nascent Soul Ghosts’ command, Chu Lingguang felt a pang of regret. ’I never should have come in here.’
"We can help you."
The voice of the Nascent Soul Ghosts returned.
Chu Lingguang glanced toward the black palace.
’What do they mean by that?’
"Kill them. It’s the only way for you and your friends to leave here safely," the Nascent Soul Ghosts said again.
WHOOSH!
At those words, Chu Lingguang once again sent his Flying Sword hurtling toward the red-nosed old man.
"You insolent whelp!"
The red-nosed old man was dumbfounded.
’How dare Chu Lingguang attack me? Isn’t he afraid of getting both the Cyan Cloud Sect and the Profound Celestial Sect wiped out here?’
He couldn’t stop himself from surging with Spiritual Power, intending to shatter Chu Lingguang’s Flying Sword with a palm strike from his left hand and then kill the boy himself.
He could tell that Chu Lingguang was a powerful Foundation Establishment cultivator.
’He has to be at least an Immortal Dao Foundation Establishment, maybe even a Divine Dao Foundation Establishment. Otherwise, there’s no way he could have killed my junior brother so easily. Even with my junior brother injured and ambushed by Yang Rong, Chu Lingguang’s final strike shouldn’t have been able to decapitate a Core Formation cultivator so easily.’
"Ah, no!"
However, just as he tried to channel his Spiritual Power, he felt as if some kind of restriction had been placed on him. For some reason, runic markings had suddenly appeared on the ground beneath his feet.
The markings radiated a bizarre aura.
It prevented him from using his Spiritual Power, causing a momentary stagnation.
In combat, especially in a clash between experts at the Foundation Establishment Realm or higher, even a moment’s distraction could be fatal.
Let alone having one’s Spiritual Power completely sealed.
He possessed a wealth of Magical Techniques and Divine Abilities, but without Spiritual Power to fuel them, he couldn’t even form the most powerful Magic Seal.
At the same time.
The red-nosed old man saw that the two Core Formation cultivators guarding him had their Spiritual Power restricted as well, suffering from the same affliction.
’Undead markings.’
The thought surfaced in his mind unbidden.
’To be able to silently lock the Spiritual Power of three Core Formation cultivators inside the Immortal King’s Tomb, with markings that emerge from the ground... there is only one possibility. The caster must be one of the Nascent Soul Ghosts of the Immortal King’s Tomb.’
As a Core Formation cultivator, the red-nosed old man, like many others, knew that Nascent Soul Ghosts resided in the Immortal King’s Tomb.
It was only because they were ghosts that cultivators like them dared to enter. Throughout their journey, he thought he had been driving the ghosts back, but he never expected the black palace to be a giant trap.
A Divinity Transformation Level ghost was imprisoned inside.
The fact that any of them had managed to escape was a stroke of unbelievable luck.
He had thought the danger was past.
He never imagined that after leaving the black palace, the ghosts would still be nearby—and that they would join forces with Chu Lingguang to attack them.
He couldn’t understand how Chu Lingguang was able to communicate with the ghosts and gain their support.
Although the cultivators had fought amongst themselves after entering, the Undead Guardians here had always acted as mere observers. This was the first time they had ever helped someone like Chu Lingguang attack others.
SCHLICK!
The undead markings on the ground took Yang Rong and the others by surprise, but having survived this long, they all knew not to waste an opportunity. They immediately unleashed their Flying Swords and an array of Magical Techniques and Divine Abilities.
All of their power was directed at the red-nosed old man and his companions.
BOOM!
Their Spiritual Power briefly frozen, the three once-arrogant Core Formation experts were slain by the combined might of Chu Lingguang, Yang Rong, and the other Core Formation cultivators of the Profound Celestial Sect.
WHOOSH!
Chu Lingguang saw that undead markings had appeared beneath the feet of all the Cyan Cloud Sect cultivators.
United by a common enemy, they were all filled with murderous intent toward him.
As the saying goes, once an arrow is loosed, it cannot be recalled. Chu Lingguang knew he couldn’t show any mercy. His Flying Sword shot out once more, and Yang Rong and the others followed suit.
It was a massacre. 𝘧𝓇ℯℴ𝓂
One by one, the Cyan Cloud Sect cultivators fell.
"Chu Lingguang!"
Suddenly, a familiar voice called out.
"Qin Yu!"
Chu Lingguang saw a Werewolf crouching in a corner.
A closer look revealed it was none other than Qin Yu.
’How did Qin Yu get into a place like the Immortal King’s Tomb? It looks like he even went into the black palace and managed to escape. Could Qin Yu have stumbled upon some incredible fortuitous encounter?’
He noticed that Qin Yu’s aura had changed.
His power had actually reached the Foundation Establishment Realm.
It was completely unexpected.
"He’s my friend!"
Chu Lingguang hastily used his Flying Sword to block another that was heading for Qin Yu.
The attacker was the Sect Leader of the Profound Celestial Sect.
His power was at the peak of the Core Formation realm.
It was said he had a chance of breaking through to the Nascent Soul Realm within the next ten years.
Even as a Heavenly Dao Foundation Establishment expert, Chu Lingguang shouldn’t have been able to block the Sect Leader’s sword. The only reason he succeeded was that the man had pulled his strike back at the last moment, showing mercy to Qin Yu.
"Sect Leader, Qin Yu is a cultivator from the Celestial Sea, just like me. We’re brothers," Chu Lingguang explained.
"You have good talent. Are you interested in joining the Profound Celestial Sect?" the Sect Leader asked.
"I imagine the Profound Celestial Sect wouldn’t want someone who so easily betrays their own sect," Qin Yu answered cleverly, neither refusing nor agreeing.
"Interesting. You may go," the Profound Celestial Sect’s Leader said with a laugh.
He had Yang Rong and the others lower their Flying Swords. In the end, of all the Cyan Cloud Sect disciples who had entered the Immortal King’s Tomb seeking Immortal Fate, only Qin Yu walked out alive.
The rest had either been consumed by the Restriction Arrays within the Immortal King’s Tomb or had died by the blades of the Profound Celestial Sect’s cultivators.
