Chapter 527: Chapter 480: Space, Heaven and Earth
In late autumn, at Chixia North Port, Chixia Island was growing more desolate by the day. However, the Demon Suppression Islands still stood tall and imposing, and Chixia’s mission to provide logistical support naturally remained.
Because of this mission, Chixia’s northern port remained bustling. Flying Boats of all shapes and sizes entered and exited the port, a picture of constant activity.
The only difference from before was, perhaps, that the many passenger Flying Boats that once connected to all corners of the world had dwindled to just a few.
Among them, a dark gray Flying Boat, after passing through the port’s checkpoint inspection, slowly levitated and flew away from the port under the respectful gazes of the garrisoned Cultivators.
The Flying Boat wasn’t particularly large, only a few dozen feet long. Its entire body was a dark gray color, looking somewhat mottled and old, but a closer look revealed a faint, illusory quality.
The Flying Boat’s overall shape was also quite strange. It looked like a section of a blade—boat-shaped, yet with an inexplicable, restrained sharpness, as if it could slice through space and merge into the sky, disappearing from sight.
On the side of the Flying Boat, the two words "True Understanding" were inscribed. The lettering resembled a combination of some kind of Inscriptions, exuding an air of profound mystery.
Not even a moment after the Flying Boat had completely departed from the port, its mottled, dark gray surface abruptly burst with light. Then, following a surge of inexplicable, piercing sharpness, the Flying Boat vanished completely in a most bizarre fashion.
At this point, even if someone were to probe with Magic Techniques or use specific detection Artifacts and Magical Treasures to search, they would find not the slightest trace.
’Space... is truly profound...’
At that moment, Chu Mu stood at the prow of the Flying Boat, gazing at Chixia Island, which seemed to be shrouded in a thin veil of gauze. He muttered to himself, his brow slightly furrowed. Spiritual Radiance swirled in his eyes as inspiration sparked in his mind.
The inspiration for this Flying Boat came from that Blade Battle Puppet, from its ability to appear and disappear like an assassin in the dead of night.
The entire Flying Boat’s keel was built with Spatial Spiritual Materials. It was shaped like a blade, designed to break through the void.
The end result was this vessel, an existence entirely different from any Flying Boat that had come before.
In the past, when he pursued speed and Concealment for his Flying Boats, he had always focused his exploration on Array Prohibitions—faster Flying Array Prohibitions, and more effective Concealment Array Prohibition combinations.
This Flying Boat, however, was at the complete opposite extreme. Its own Defense was nearly nonexistent. All of its utility was focused on breaking through the void.
It leveraged the Flying Boat’s inherent sensitivity to space, using its blade-like form to break through spatial nodes and travel within space itself, thereby achieving speeds approaching Instant Teleportation and a level of Concealment that was nearly impossible to penetrate.
Artifact Formulas for this type of Flying Boat were also recorded in the Immortal Dao Sect’s Artifact Refining General Outline Lower Volume.
Among them was an ancient Magical Treasure called the Sky-breaking Shuttle, which operated on a similar principle to this kind of Flying Boat. The main difference lay in their chosen methods for breaking through the void, which in turn led to completely different designs for the treasures derived from this function.
’It’s still missing something...’
Chu Mu pursed his lips. Although the Flying Boat seemed nearly perfect for now, in his eyes as an Artifact Refiner, this perfection was still limited to the Golden Core Realm.
As far as he knew, once a cultivator’s Cultivation reached the Nascent Soul Realm, they could achieve Instant Teleportation using their Nascent Soul and also begin to interact with the Power of Heaven and Earth.
And whether it was the Power of Space represented by Instant Teleportation or the Power of Heaven and Earth that a Nascent Soul Cultivator could already attempt to mobilize, both were more than enough to easily render this Flying Boat’s void-breaking ability useless.
If he truly tried to use this Flying Boat to break through the void and escape from a Nascent Soul Cultivator, it was likely they could just swat him down with a single slap, sending him straight into Spatial Turbulence.
And as for Spatial Turbulence, though he had never witnessed it himself, it wasn’t hard to grasp its terrifying nature from the various legends and ancient records.
Even a Nascent Soul Great Power who fell into Spatial Turbulence would almost certainly die if they didn’t have a powerful method to escape in time.
To say nothing of a Golden Core Realm Cultivator like himself. If he fell in, death would be the only outcome.
’Perhaps I can re-refine it with a Spatial Spiritual Object that has a Concealment Attribute... a Void Spirit Devouring Beast, or maybe a Void Stone?’
Chu Mu pondered for a moment, ideas rapidly branching off with his train of thought. After a short while, he seemed to come back to his senses. He mulled it over a bit more but ultimately didn’t get too hung up on it.
Even if it was only perfect at the Golden Core Realm, that was already enough for him.
After all, as long as he wasn’t out of his mind, he would never go looking for trouble with a Nascent Soul Great Power.
His circle of interaction was limited solely to the Golden Core Realm.
Perfection at the Golden Core Realm was, for all intents and purposes, true perfection.
As for that Tier Four True Demon, he wasn’t particularly worried.
If the True Demon remained within its Demon Realm and didn’t emerge, then likely no one in the entire Cultivation Immortal Realm could do anything to it.
But if the True Demon were to leave its Demon Realm... setting aside the possibility of being ambushed by someone lying in wait, just getting back into that Demon Realm would probably be a difficult feat.
Having personally performed the Refinement of the Heart of the Demon Realm, he naturally knew that it could not be moved.
In other words, that Heart of the Demon Realm was fixed within the main hall of the Demon City.
Though he didn’t know why the Nascent Soul Great Cultivator from Great Heng hadn’t dealt with that Demon Realm after gaining control of the Secret Realm, thus giving the True Demon a chance to exploit a loophole.
But one learns from their mistakes, and the Nascent Soul Great Cultivator from Great Heng clearly wouldn’t give the True Demon a second chance.
He pondered for a moment, then his gaze shifted, landing on Wangcai and the Corpse Puppet behind him.
Seeing Chu Mu look over, Wangcai seemed to sense it. It raised its head to look at Chu Mu, its tail unconsciously wagging twice. Then, it glanced at the Corpse Puppet, let out two feigned roars, and trotted happily over to Chu Mu’s side.
