Chapter 526 - 479: Sun and Moon Yin Yang
Chapter 526: Chapter 479: Sun and Moon Yin Yang
At the height of summer, the Vast Sea Cultivation Immortal World, which had been in utter chaos, grew strangely calm. This seemed to be due to the sudden rise of a Tier Four True Cultivator of Sword Intent.
As the Bazhou Alliance’s millennial celebration drew near, the Celestial Star Alliance, the Celestial Demon Sect, the Profound Nether Alliance, the Nine Heavens Sect, and all the other so-called "Evil Cultivation Forces," both large and small, reined in their usual aggressive postures.
The Demon Suppression Islands still stood majestically. However, perhaps due to the newfound internal peace within the Vast Sea Cultivation Immortal World, the relentless Beast Tide attacks—which had raged for years since the turmoil began—had also subsided.
For a time, it was as if the entire Vast Sea Cultivation Immortal World had turned back the clock, returning to the peace and stability of years past.
Yet even amid this peace, Chixia City, once supremely prosperous, could not halt its decline. It had long lost the splendor of its days as the hub of the Vast Sea.
In the past, there was a saying about Chixia City: "Chixia has no center, for the entire city is prosperous!"
Essentially any power, large or small, and even individual Cultivators of a certain standing in the Vast Sea Cultivation Immortal World would purchase property in Chixia as a status symbol.
Now, the chaos in the Vast Sea Cultivation Immortal World had naturally reduced this splendor to a memory, and Chixia City was growing more desolate by the day.
The only exception, perhaps, was the True Understanding Main Pavilion. In times of chaos, items used in Protecting Daoist Battles—such as Magical and Spiritual Artifacts, Puppets, and Talismans—were always in extremely high demand.
And the reputation of the True Understanding Pavilion, renowned for its Pill and Artifact Dual Proficiency, was undoubtedly unique in the entire Vast Sea Cultivation Immortal World.
Over many years, the True Understanding Main Pavilion in Chixia City had established a golden reputation.
Compared to the deserted state of other establishments, the True Understanding Main Pavilion maintained its daily hustle and bustle of customers.
Perhaps spurred by the Nine Heavens Profound Gold that had slipped through his fingers, Chu Mu had recently been paying rare attention to the True Understanding Pavilion. He even took the time on multiple occasions to refine a large batch of Magical and Spiritual Artifacts and Puppet Elixirs, replenishing the Pavilion’s inventory.
However, this focus lasted only a short while. As preparations for the Treasure Refining were completed, Chu Mu’s attention shifted back to Qing Ling’s Lifebound Treasure.
This time, the Chen Family’s resources had once again exceeded Chu Mu’s expectations.
In less than half a month after he had given the Artifact Formula to Qing Ling, she had already gathered all the rare Spiritual Materials and Objects required for the Treasure Refining and delivered them to him.
In the backyard of the True Understanding Pavilion, a scorching True Flame surged. Amidst the crimson blaze, a constant stream of Techniques had been raining down for nearly a month.
At the center of the sea of fire, two crescent-shaped Golden Wheels had taken form. One was dark gold, the other bright silver. They spun like a single Yin Yang wheel, their edges exuding a grim coldness that even the blazing heat of the fire could not conceal.
Qing Ling sat to one side. Though her face was pale, she couldn’t hide the fervent look in her eyes as she watched the two Golden Wheels.
The Golden Wheels represented Yin and Yang, the Sun and Moon. They were a perfect match for her Half-human, Half-Flood Dragon nature, and even more so, an almost flawless fit for her Immortal Dao and Demon Cultivation Technique.
Even after only the initial Refinement, this compatibility was already incredibly clear to her.
The Sun Wheel was aggressive and fierce, corresponding to the bloodline of her Flood Dragon body and the strength of her physique.
The Moon Wheel was icy and somber, like the moon’s cold light, corresponding to her Immortal Dao Cultivation and the Profound Moon Technique.
It was a perfect, natural fit.
"Fairy, in ten breaths, channel your Immortal Dao Technique in your human form and blood-refine the Sun and Moon Golden Wheel."
Just then, Chu Mu spoke. His voice was calm, yet it carried clearly to Qing Ling’s ears above the roar of the fiery sea.
Qing Ling acknowledged his words, the fervor in her eyes receding slightly. Her Immortal Dao Magical Power surged, her red lips parted, and she spat out a mouthful of blood. It shot out like an arrow loosed from a bow, striking the spinning Sun and Moon Golden Wheel.
The blood splattered across the wheels, but the two originally frigid Golden Wheels suddenly flared with light. The bloodstains seemed to be devoured, vanishing into the wheels in the blink of an eye.
"Rise!"
With a low shout from Chu Mu, the Sun and Moon Wheel spiraled upward. It resembled a great Yin Yang millstone, or the sun and moon shining in unison. The brilliant dark-gold and bright-silver light represented two almost diametrically opposed forces, yet they were perfectly integrated by the wheel’s unique design.
"Assume your Flood Dragon form, channel your Body Refining Technique, and blood-refine it again!"
Veins bulged on Chu Mu’s forehead as he shouted again, clearly enduring some unimaginably terrifying pressure.
"ROAR!"
Her thin robes shattered. The once graceful silhouette vanished in an instant, replaced by a draconic roar.
A Flood Dragon now coiled in the air, its eyes filled with majesty. With another roar, it spat out a crystalline ball of blood. As if the very heavens were bleeding, the sight of the sun and moon shining in unison was once again stained crimson.
"Now! Fully refine this treasure!"
Chu Mu, seeming to sense the critical moment, shouted once more.
The Flood Dragon reacted instantly. It opened its cavernous maw and swallowed the blood-stained, sun-and-moon-like treasure whole.
Chu Mu sighed in relief. He looked up at the Flood Dragon refining the treasure, a thoughtful expression in his eyes.
’The sun and moon shine together, Yin and Yang complementing each other.’ The greatest inspiration for this treasure had come from the Lifebound Treasure of his Great Sun Scripture: the Great Sun Golden Wheel.
’By taking the concepts of Yin and Yang, the Sun and Moon, it allows two completely different forces to merge almost perfectly into a single treasure. A perfect match for Qing Ling’s Half-human, Half-Flood Dragon nature.’
’Without a doubt, apart from my own Nine Dragon Prison Suppression Tower, this is the most magnificent and perfect Magical Treasure I have ever refined.’
’The Magical Treasure is based on the concept of the Sun and Moon, Yin and Yang. That alone destines it to be extraordinary.’
As his thoughts drifted, the transformation was complete. In just a few breaths, the Flood Dragon coiling in the sky morphed back into a human form. A thin veil covered her jade-white body, which was now only faintly visible. A golden and a silver crescent wheel circled around her as fluttering ribbons trailed behind. Like a Fairy descending to the mortal realm, she slowly descended from the sky.
A glint flashed in Chu Mu’s eyes as he sent a slow sound transmission into Qing Ling’s ear.
"This treasure is based on the concept of Yin and Yang, the Sun and Moon. Fairy, if you have the opportunity in the future to find a Supreme Treasure of the Sun and Moon, or of Yin and Yang, and smelt it into the wheels, their Mighty Power and potential will leap to another level!"
Qing Ling looked surprised. "If I may ask, Fellow Daoist, what do you mean by a Supreme Treasure of Yin and Yang?"
"Sun Essence, Moon Marrow, Yin and Yang Qi... any Spiritual Materials and Objects derived from the Sun and Moon or Yin and Yang are compatible with this treasure."
Chu Mu smiled. "The rarer the Sun and Moon or Yin and Yang Spiritual Object, the greater the benefit to your treasure after you fuse it, naturally."
Qing Ling was puzzled. "Fellow Daoist, why didn’t you note this in the Artifact Formula?"
"Even if you were to find a Sun and Moon or Yin and Yang Spiritual Object right now, Fairy, you would not be able to fuse it with the treasure."
"Although the treasure is based on the concept of the Sun and Moon and Yin and Yang, you, Fairy, must still decide whether it will follow the path of the Sun and Moon or the path of Yin and Yang."
"After you decide, you must guide the relevant Essence Qi to nurture the treasure and completely stabilize its chosen Attribute—be it Sun and Moon or Yin and Yang. Only then will it be able to fuse with such Spiritual Objects."
"Otherwise, attempting to fuse them by force will only harm the treasure, not help it!"
Qing Ling nodded slightly, her bright eyes twinkling as she gazed at the twin crescent wheels of gold and silver circling before her. She then turned to Chu Mu with a smile. "Fellow Daoist, you helped me refine this treasure, but I have yet to offer you any payment. If there is anything you require, please don’t hesitate to ask."
"Chu has also gained a great deal from this Treasure Refining. There is no need for payment."
Qing Ling was taken aback for a moment, then she smiled gracefully. "If you ever need my help in the future, Fellow Daoist, please feel free to contact me."
Chu Mu laughed heartily. "Since you put it that way, Fairy, it would be rude for Chu to refuse."
