Eternal Cultivation Of Alchemy

Chapter 3936: The Loud Presence

  • Next Chapter

Alex hadn’t felt fear like this in a long, long time. Even when he spoke directly with the Half Gods, he hadn’t gotten this scared.

However, the Sun God was truly someone who could scare him. After all, he was the sole being who could do something that no one else could do, which was rid him of his autonomy. Everything he had that made him powerful, his body, the Yellow Fog, it all listened to the Sun God.

He was nothing but a vessel cultivated to house a God. And now, the God had returned. And he was furious.

"How?" Alex asked, his breath deepening. "How are you free? The Seal was supposed to be permanent unless I gave strict command."

"You sealed me using my power. Did you forget that the power itself is me? You use me to keep me away and are surprised when I return," the Sun God said, his voice booming through Alex’s mind.

Alex still couldn’t make sense of it at all. The Seal had worked perfectly. The Sun God, or more precisely the Dragon Father that had taken hold of his Origin, had indeed been sealed for all this time.

’Is it because I have broken through to the Immortal Spirit realm that the Spirit has found new power?’ Alex wondered. ’No, wait. Did I complete my breakthrough yet?’

The Sun God’s presence was loud inside his head, making it hard to think. Alex couldn’t quite remember if he had broken through or not.

"You will die soon," the Sun God spoke, pulling him away from his thoughts again. "Once I’ve regained my power, I shall erase you forever. Not that I even have to try. The Fire God will kill you even before that."

Alex breathed in quickly. "No, he won’t. He’s sworn that he won’t."

Even though Alex believed so, there was no telling what the Fire God would really do. In the end, it was possible that he would kill him just to be certain there was never another God he had to contend with.

"Once you’re dead, the Fire God will likely kill your parents, your aunt, your cousin, and everyone else close to you to ensure no other God would be born from your bloodline," the Sun God said. "And if he somehow fails to do so, I shall complete that task. You have dared to mess with the Sun God. You shall understand what the Sun God can do in return."

"You’re not a killer," Alex said, trying to hide his fear. "You said you wouldn’t hurt anyone."

"That was before. But then you sealed me. I do not have any reason to keep my word anymore," the Sun God answered. "Whether it be the Fire God or me, very soon, you will lose everything. And I will enjoy every second of it."

Alex couldn’t even begin to imagine a situation worse than this. The only thing worse might have been the Storm God finally making up his mind on what to do and deciding to kill him for certain just in case.

"Do you have a preference? Who do you want to die to? Me or the Fire God?" the Sun God asked.

"The Fire God..." Alex slowly said.

"Is that your choice?"

"No. The Fire God... why do you call him that?" Alex asked.

The Sun God remained silent, saying nothing.

"His name is Ashmaker. And he is but a Half God. Why do you keep referring to him as a God? You know he’s not a God," Alex said.

"I see," the Sun God said. "Then your choice is to die to me. Once I am done killing you, I will kill everyone you love. Then I will go search for Shumi. I shall kill her and free the Moon Goddess as well," the Sun God said.

Alex panicked greatly. Shumi was in the Demon realm, preparing greatly for the upcoming peace meeting. If something were to happen to her now, the meeting would be in shambles.

"The Moon Goddess is already dead," Alex said. "She sacrificed herself to make Shumi the Moon Goddess. You should have done the same as well."

"She is not dead," the Sun God shouted. "She is merely hiding inside Shumi, biding her time. I shall find the female vessel and free the Moon Goddess. Together, we shall finish what we’ve started."

"She is truly gone," Alex said, more half-heartedly than anything, trying to convince the Sun God, but it didn’t really work. He himself couldn’t believe his words, so how could he make the Sun God believe at all?

"Your words will have no effect on my intention," the Sun God said resolutely.

Alex didn’t know what to do anymore. He didn’t know how long he could hold on. He had been holding on for a while now, but he wasn’t sure how much longer that could last.

’Why haven’t I been taken over yet?’ Alex thought. He couldn’t quite understand. There was also the issue of the lack of Primordial Energy flowing into him. The Sun God should have been taking in the energy to empower himself, but he wasn’t.

Why?

’Is it because of my Unity?’ Alex thought. He didn’t have Perfect Unity, but it was good enough that whenever he was cultivating, anything foreign, even the Sun God himself, couldn’t take over him.

’That must mean I’m still cultivating,’ Alex thought. ’Strange, when did I start cultivating?’

He tried to think through the Sun God’s loud presence and remembered again that he was trying to break through to the Immortal Spirit realm. Had he finished that yet? He didn’t think he had.

That probably meant he was still in the middle of doing it.

He had only been a step away from breaking through when the Sun God was freed.

Alex blinked as his thoughts came to a sudden halt.

"You’re not the Sun God," Alex said out loud as he finally realized something.

"I am the Sun—"

"You’re not him. If you were, you would’ve done many things right away," Alex said. "No, I know what you really are."

He took a deep breath.

"You are my Inner Demon."
