Eternal Cultivation Of Alchemy
Chapter 3924: Graham’s Strength
Alex watched his father fight with the grace of a hammer hitting a nail. He couldn’t help but laugh silently at how forceful his father was, trying to go at the fight with direct force.
However, as bad as it looked from the stands, it worked fabulously.
Graham’s opponent simply couldn’t keep up with his attacks at all.
"The hell is going on?" one of the men beside Alex spoke up. "Did he get stronger again or what?"
"I swear I thought the same," another said. "I’ve seen that man fight before. He’s quite strong. How is Ironbrawn dealing with him so easily?"
"He said he had gotten stronger, but I didn’t believe him," the man in the golden robe said. "Shit, maybe he wasn’t lying after all."
Alex watched his father’s match come to a close. Despite the direct attacks, his opponent failed to stop any of them from hitting him. His father simply overpowered the man, and then the battle came to an end.
Graham was hardly out of breath when he walked back to his seat. He sat back with a satisfied smile. Immediately, the others around him began asking how he had gotten so much stronger in such a short time.
Alex understood the reason quite well.
His father had finally finished fully consuming the fruit of the Tree of Life as well as the jars of Elixir he had been given. So, his strength had shot up during the past few decades, especially after he began training within Alex’s Soul Space, where the speed of his cultivation was made nearly fiftyfold faster.
The earlier battle wasn’t enough to tell how strong he had gotten, though. He would need better opponents to make that clear.
Alex looked forward to his father’s battles.
A few more people went down and fought, some struggling against each other and some easily defeating their opponents.
One of those from the latter group was the woman named Halfspear.
She arrived atop the arena after her name was called. Her opponent was another woman who seemed quite worried. It was clear she was a regular at the tournament and knew Halfspear’s name more than well enough to know she was strong.
Still, she decided to try her best in the battle.
However, as soon as the battle started, Halfspear vanished from her spot, arriving next to her opponent.
The other woman reacted by throwing a punch, but Halfspear had seemingly anticipated that already and moved her head long before the punch came.
Her own punch landed on the woman’s face, smashing her nose and teeth in and tossing her body like a ragdoll.
The deafening boom that came out of the attack was horrifying.
The woman landed some distance away, blood spilling out of her face like an open faucet.
Instantly, the victor was decided.
Alex watched in awe at how swiftly the match ended.
Not only was it quick, it was also effortless in nature. Halfspear hardly had to exert any effort to defeat her opponent.
That likely meant that she was stronger than her opponent as well, but it also meant that she had a talent for fighting that was clearly above average.
It was clear to him now why she had won so many of the previous tournaments.
"The matches aren’t set from the start, are they?" Alex asked the group beside him in a whisper.
"Not until the round starts, from what I know," Long Huan answered. "Why do you ask?"
"I’m a little worried Father may end up having to fight her before the finals," Alex said. "That would be a shame if it happened."
"Hmm..." Long Huan clearly felt the same as well.
"That’s a possibility, but it is unlikely," the man in the golden robe said. "These people know how to put on a good show. They will set up the matches in a way where the final battle isn’t going to be a one-sided victory."
That gave Alex a bit more hope.
The battles before them continued for some time before the 16 matches came to an end, and everyone moved on to the next round.
A pair of fighters went ahead and fought for some time until one of them won.
Then Graham was called over, along with another fighter who had performed quite well in the last round.
Alex waited for the match to start and watched closely.
Once the match began, the opponent started the fight with a dash and a punch.
Graham put his arm up at the last moment, blocking the punch before delivering an uppercut of his own.
The fighter moved his head back, feeling the rush of air pass before him.
He flipped his body and delivered a backward kick directly at Graham’s right ribs.
Graham folded his arm and blocked the attack. At the same time, he kicked the man with his left leg.
Before the kick landed, the fighter jumped upward, dodging.
However, that had been a grave mistake.
Graham immediately gathered himself and dashed after the man.
With his opponent in midair, the man had no way of stopping Graham’s attack.
Graham punched, delivering a strong strike to the man’s chest.
The man crossed his arms to block the hit, but when the attack landed, he realized far too late just how wrong he had been.
This was not an attack he could have blocked.
The single mistake was enough to end the match.
The man skidded across the floor with the bones in both of his arms broken, one of them even protruding with a splintered bone, while several of his ribs were no doubt fractured at the very least, if not broken outright.
The referee immediately judged the match to be over and stopped it.
Once again, Graham won.
The audience was silent, their expressions shocked.
No one made a sound, as no one had truly realized just how strong Graham had become.
In fact, even Alex had been mistaken about his strength.
At this moment, Alex feared that his father’s physical strength may have reached the Divine Manifestation realm itself.
