Eternal Cultivation Of Alchemy

Chapter 3923: Group 50: Begin

  • Next Chapter

The arena for Group 50 wasn’t as packed, so seats were readily available for them all to sit.

Alex wondered why there were so few people there at first, but after some consideration, he came up with an answer.

The reason was simple.

People did not want to watch this as much as they did everything else.

People had nothing against fighters who had strong body cultivation, but the truth was that battles between these people weren’t going to be as spectacular as the other fights.

Watching people fight with Dao, powerful Weapon skills, strange techniques, and everything they had was always going to be more fascinating to the audience.

Still, there were plenty of viewers there, waiting for the final group battles to begin.

"There she is," Long Huan said, diverting everyone’s attention to a certain area of the arena.

Alex followed his gaze and found a woman in simple gray robes sitting on the other side of the arena without much care for anything around her.

Alex’s eyes immediately narrowed upon seeing her.

He had seen her before the start of his own group. She had been there for some reason before she left. He had wondered if she had somehow recognized him, but he couldn’t be sure.

"She’s here too? Of course she is," the man in the golden robe said with an exasperated sigh.

He turned toward Graham. "It’s going to be tough for you, brother."

Graham shrugged. "I wouldn’t have accepted an easy path to victory either way."

Alex turned toward the group. "Who is she?"

"Her name is Halfspear. She’s one of the strongest Body Cultivators and constantly takes first place. She’s super strong," Long Huan answered. "Your father has lost to her multiple times."

"Oh!" Alex raised his eyebrows. "I remember you talking about some woman before. This is her?"

Long Huan nodded.

Alex turned toward the woman again and was nearly taken aback when he found her staring right back at him.

A faint smile formed on the woman’s face before she looked away.

That couldn’t have been a coincidence at all.

That woman truly knew him.

He supposed that was to be expected considering how much fame he had gained, but even then, it was still surprising.

"Do you think you can win against her this time?" one of the others asked Graham.

"I do not know. I think I can defeat Stonecrusher, since I understand his strength. But I was weaker when I fought her, so until I fight her again, I can tell nothing," he said.

"Did you lose to her last time too?" Alex asked. "I remember you reached the finals of that group."

"No," Graham answered. "She wasn’t here last time."

"Oh. She skipped it last time?" Alex asked.

"She must’ve left for the Red Heaven Realm or the Godkiller’s Tomb. It’s always one of those two anyway," the man in the golden robe said.

Alex looked back at the woman, now very much interested in seeing her fight.

The referee for the matches opened the group battles with an explanation of the rules.

Similar to what Alex had gone through in his own battles, people weren’t allowed to openly use Qi, Spiritual Energy, or any other form of Energy at all. They also couldn’t use any weapons, so all battles had to be hand-to-hand combat.

The battle ended whenever someone couldn’t get up, gave up, or when the referee decided that it was time to end it.

Once the explanation was complete, the first two members of Group 50 were brought onto the stage to begin their battle.

Everyone applauded as two fighters went over to the stage.

Alex looked toward the group’s members and saw that it was a rather small number.

Perhaps because of the number of people who had participated, Group 50 had no more than 45 fighters in total.

"They don’t tell you who you are fighting first, do they?" Alex asked.

"They’ll need to first see how strong you are. They decide everything after that," Long Huan explained. "It’s likely that in his first match, Uncle will get to skip the next one in order to fix the number of rounds so everyone has an opponent by the third round and no one is left behind."

"How is that decided?" Alex asked. "Does my father’s record help with anything at all? He did nearly win last time, right?"

"Maybe?" Long Huan said.

He didn’t know either.

They would have to wait and watch.

Alex pushed the thought out of his mind and watched the ongoing battle.

Despite not using their Qi and relying only on their bodies, the fighters were quite strong. Each punch and kick sounded like an explosion going off, the force carrying enough strength and speed to destroy mountains.

The technique of one of the fighters was a bit lacking, so before long, the other one won easily.

After the winner stepped down, another two were called forward, and soon, they were fighting as well.

A few more people fought before the first round came to an end.

It was obvious at that point that many of the fighters had been skipped over to make the numbers pair up.

Finally, once the next round began, his father was among the first to be called over.

Graham stood up and walked down without much eagerness or nervousness.

His opponent was a man who looked as old as him, but in reality had to be tens of thousands of years older, if not more.

The man’s cultivation base was high as well, while his father was an Immortal who had barely broken through a few years ago.

The discrepancy between Graham’s aura and where he stood gave his opponent a feeling of confusion that he couldn’t quite get rid of.

Though, he knew more than enough not to judge the strength of a Body Cultivator by the strength of their aura.

Graham stood atop the arena and bowed slowly.

His opponent gave a small bow as well.

Once they were ready, the referee started the match.
