Eternal Cultivation Of Alchemy

Chapter 3845: Tiny Prophecy Fulfilled

  • Next Chapter

The War God left with Battlesage, seemingly no longer caring about Alex.

Alex was surprised by how easily he was ignored by the War God. He was so certain this would be a much bigger deal than it turned out to be.

"That’s it?" the Sky God said as she sat back on the couch. "Where was the Divine Battle?"

Alex turned. "You mean the prophecy? I don’t think it was talking about an actual battle. Instead, it was talking about the array I have."

The Sky God paused for a second. "What array?"

"Hell Emperor’s Divine Battle Array," Alex said. "That was the array in the prophecy, I believe."

The Sky God was a little taken aback. "So far as I know, there existed no such technique within the treasures I had. Renye most certainly didn’t know of that array either. How did you manage to gain it?"

"From an old battlefield," Alex said. "Someone with the technique had died there, and the book containing the technique alone had survived for hundreds of thousands of years."

"I see," the Sky God said, nodding to herself.

Sunflare walked over, scratching his chin a little. "Is that it? Is that all there was to the prophecy?"

Alex nodded and repeated the prophecy.

"Born of Hell, he comes to seek an end to the Divine Battle. The one who escaped it shall make him submit. Born of Hell means Hellspawn, the War God. He came to make me stop using the Hell Emperor’s Divine Battle Array. The one who escaped it, being the one who escaped Hell, senior Battlesage, made him submit. In a way."

"Huh..." Sunflare stroked his hairless chin. "I suppose I got to witness a prophecy being fulfilled, albeit a rather tiny one."

Alex nodded. "We should leave as well."

With nothing else to do, Alex left with Sunflare, returning to the courtyard. He stayed in the courtyard for many days, spending what time he had with his family that he hadn’t gotten to spend yet. He also started receiving certain news about information that had spread all throughout the Sky God’s realm.

The name and title of the Sun God had made their rounds in the past few years, and many more had come to know of him. At any other time, Alex may have considered it to be as much of a boon as it was a curse. But considering that the only downside was the Fire God finding out about him, which he would anyway, it was all a boon.

"The Red Heaven Realm isn’t over, is it?" Alex asked. "There should be some time left."

"There’s a decade left, I think," Hannah said. She and Long Huan had just returned with the news. "But that hasn’t stopped the information from spreading."

Alex nodded. "Well, I did something right, then. All I need to do now is find a way to build a proper cult. And of course, survive the upcoming battle."

Hannah nodded before a worried look overtook her face. "How is everything coming along? I don’t know if I can do anything to help you or not. If there is, just ask, okay?"

"Thank you, sister. But I don’t think there’s much you can do to help me. Hell, I don’t think there’s much I can do to help myself," Alex told her. "Whatever I can do, I’m already doing."

"Maybe you are, but I’m still worried," Hannah said.

Alex couldn’t do much else to help dissuade her worries at this point. All he could do was point out the fact that the Gods would likely not let him die.

Battlesage arrived at the courtyard a while later.

"How did the talk with your grand-disciple go, senior?" Alex asked the old man as he walked in.

"Quite great," Battlesage said with a wide smile. "I got to learn a lot more about the Hell Emperor and what he did after coming here. It was also nice to hear it directly from the mouth of someone so closely involved with him and know for certain that he didn’t abandon us on purpose."

Alex could only imagine.

"Having two Gods as your grand-disciples must be quite an interesting feeling," he said with a chuckle.

"Well, yeah. But young Hellspawn isn’t so certain Sandsworn will be as accepting of me," Battlesage said.

"Sandsworn?" Alex paused for a moment, having never heard the name before. But it didn’t take him too long to realize who that must’ve been. "Ah, is that the Array God?"

"That is him," Battlesage said. "Since he’s a Celestial like his master, he has a different view of the world, it seems. Hopefully, he won’t be so difficult when I meet him."

Alex nodded slowly. "And how was the rest of the meeting? Did you try a match or two with your grand-disciple?"

The old man shook his head. "I wanted to test how much he’s learned from his master, but he said that the artifacts we have are of lower quality. There is apparently something better at his place, so he’s asked me to follow him back whenever he leaves again."

Alex had a vague memory of the War God telling him something similar back during their interview.

"That’s fine, then. What did you think about your grand-disciple? Do you like him? Do you dislike him?"

"I think he’s a fine young man," Battlesage said. "From our brief interaction, he appears to be an upstanding individual. I am quite proud of what the Hell Emperor managed to raise him to be. Now, I just pray that his older brother is something similar as well."

"That would indeed be the hope," Alex said. "What now? Do you want to go spend more time with your grand-disciple? I think you should."

"I should..." Battlesage said with an embarrassed smile. "But I don’t want to miss out on the time I can save by cultivating inside your Soul Space. If you don’t mind, I would like to go and start right away."

Alex blinked in surprise.

"Of course. Go right in."
