Chapter 3504: The City Shall Witness his Arrival

Chapter 3504: The City Shall Witness his Arrival

Reality was cut in half.

Before Alex, a massive thin vertical line filled his vision, which immediately started pouring out silver and purple light. It split open, slowly widening into the biggest Voidgate Alex had ever seen.

It was dozens, if not a hundred times larger than the largest Voidgate he had ever seen. Its width was only about a fifth of its length, but that was massive too. It was easily a hundred meters wide.

Alex was awed at the scene that resulted from his own attack for a single moment before the ship pushed him right into it.

Instantly, he felt space and time pull and push on him from all directions.

’I need to get out soon!’ he thought.

The split in reality was still very much open.

Alex slipped away from the side of the ship, sliding down the barrier as he was left behind. The ship continued on into the Void, likely forever going to disappear inside there.

At least, that was what Alex believed would happen.

His belief was not proven right this time.

BOOM!

The explosion he had been dreading all this time happened, and the shockwave tore apart his body in a second. When Alex came back to life, he was scared and out of breath.

Had he been any closer to the explosion, his death may have been real.

He looked around for a moment, searching for the opening. However, he couldn’t find it.

’Did the explosion force it closed? Or was I moved away from my original location?’

It was hard to tell what was correct in the Void. Things in here worked so differently.

The first thing Alex did upon realizing he was lost was to feel for the gravity around him. Since he was so close to the realm, its gravity would twist space around itself, making it more or less difficult to just walk away from it if one wasn’t aware of that fact.

He felt two distinct sources of gravity, one much stronger than the other.

’The weaker one is probably the sun, so the stronger one it is,’ Alex realized.

He decided to tear open another hole and leave. So long as he was anywhere around the same realm, he would be happy making an opening.

However, before he could decide to leave, Alex saw something from the corner of his eye.

A floating piece of debris passed beside him, a large sheet of metal that looked like torn paper. The force of the explosion had to have been massive to destroy it this much.

Alex grabbed the piece and felt the heat on it. He couldn’t tell what sort of metal it was, but there was no doubt it was of the best kind. They had only used the best of the best materials on this ship.

He slowly turned around to see if there was more debris around, and his eyes went wide at what he saw next.

The explosion had left a crater within the Void, with no space or time aura near it in a massive radius. Several pieces of debris floated around it, tons and tons of high-grade metal.

His eyes shone with glee.

“So much material!”

As someone who was planning to start making artifacts soon, this was perhaps a better find than if he had taken the entire ship itself.

The ship was great, but with this, he could make anything he wanted. Perhaps he could make an even better ship than the last one.

Alex happily flew around the Void that was now empty of all aura. He gathered everything he could, placing it all into his Soul Space.

As he did, he saw cracks around the edges of the crater, through which he could see the outside world. It wasn’t exactly a Voidgate, but it didn’t seem to be closing on its own.

Could the explosion have done something along the lines of creating an Intent that made it difficult for it to close?

It was possible, but Alex didn’t give it much thought. He focused on collecting the debris for now.

The emptiness slowly vanished as the space and time aura began filling that space again. Once Alex grabbed the final piece of debris, he looked around, trying to find a way to get out.

The crack from earlier was still open for some reason, so Alex chose to go through it. To get there, he had to travel through the various auras for a short distance.

Alex sensed the speeding up of time and the slowing of it. While he had spent maybe ten minutes at best within the Void, the outside world was much different.

More than half a day had already passed.

Alex arrived at the location of one of the many different cracks and tore it open as he went out through it. As he came out, he breathed in fresh air.

’Great! I’m back.’

His vague understanding of the Dao of Spatial Awareness also told him that he was still in the Sacred Lotus Dominion, so there were no worries there.

Alex looked around and then down, seeing a city below with a massive barrier glowing around it.

’Hmm, that looks familiar,’ he thought. ’Am I back in Raingear City?’

* * * * *

Back in the Wine God’s palace, someone quickly delivered the news of Alex’s appearance out of the crack in the sky.

“He is out,” the Wine God told the gathered people. “He appears to be unharmed.”

“Then… he really did it,” the Beast God said. She turned toward the Wine God. “You believe me now, don’t you?”

The Wine God nodded and spoke aloud the prophecy.

“He shall come when the blue fowl runs afoul. With crimson shall he bring forth crimson, and the city shall witness his arrival, the man who will save the world.”

He took a deep breath.

“The Cerulean Sparrow. The reported red beasts of his, as well as the transformation he did. And now, his arrival above the city.”

“There is no doubt. The Divination God’s prophecy has come true.”

“He is the Savior.”
