Chapter 3489: Delay
Chapter 3489: Delay
Within slowed time, Alex watched the Sky God soldier from a short distance away.
It was clear that the helmet now worn by the man was a mental defense artifact. To deal any damage to him through it would be nearly impossible. The only way possible to deal mental damage through an artifact would be to overwhelm it, but with how little spiritual energy Alex had after he had used the pill to condense it, it was just not going to be enough.
That was a shame since it was his strongest aspect at the moment, at Divine Creation 9th realm after condensing.
Considering the strength of his Qi was in the Immortal Spirit 3rd realm, it was already useless from an offensive or defensive perspective. Besides that, his body, blood, and sword were around the Divine Creation 4th realm.
The soldier clearly had a cultivation base of the Divine Creation 7th realm, but his strength might’ve been higher than that. Alex considered the worst-case scenario where he had a Battle Power of 3 or more, which would put his strength firmly in the Divine Manifestation realm.
That was a power he did not have at the moment.
To defeat him was out of the question. But he had already messaged his master and the prince, so either of them could be here at any moment.
So, he only needed the strength to keep the man occupied.
Within the slowed time, Alex considered his options to turn this into a battle of attrition. There was but only one way.
With a thought, the Blood God’s Manual appeared in his hands, and he opened it to the 4th page.
Blood Beasts.
Over a thousand different beasts stored inside the Blood God’s Manual came flying out, all of them in the Divine realm.
They were at early Divine realm strength, so they weren’t going to be of any direct help in this fight. They were also not strong enough to handle any attacks from the soldier that came their way.
But thankfully, this wasn’t their full strength.
The sudden appearance of the beasts caught the soldier off guard, who could only turn to look at what was happening with his own eyes.
The blood beasts filled his vision, and a storm of crimson assaulted his eyes.
Whisker appeared among them, immediately taking the lead as he employed the most powerful technique they had for this group.
Hell Emperor Divine Battle Array.
Suddenly, Alex felt a surge in power as the thousand beasts involved in the formation gave him a newfound Battle Power of 3.
The Battle Power derived from the array did not just affect his Qi, but also his body and blood as well. It should have affected his mind too, but perhaps because he had consumed a pill to increase it already, it could not do so.
Still, the increase in his strength was already at an absurd level.
And it wasn’t just Alex that was getting a boost from this technique. The thousand blood beasts gained the same Battle Power, as each individual participating in the array gained the same benefit too.
Each one of their strength was now in the middle realms of the Divine Creation realm.
While that was still not strong enough to be of direct help in the fight, it was plenty enough to survive any stray attacks that might fly their way.
With that settled, Alex didn’t waste any more time. The man was already ready to attack, so he couldn’t give him the chance.
The sword in Alex’s hands glowed a bright color as Metal Dao and Fire Dao came together to bring a sharp, searing power onto the blade, giving it the ability to cut and burn anything it struck.
Before the soldier could even realize what was happening, Alex swung.
True Immolation Strike.
The strike hit the man dead in his chest with enough force to make him stumble. The cutting power of the sword slash continued attacking until it was all used up, and at the same time, the heat burned into the armor.
And it was no normal heat.
The more Alex learned Sun Fire, the more his Fire Dao moved toward Sun Fire too. So any fire he used in his attacks would always be as hot as Sun Fire.
And that heat was strong enough to penetrate even the Divine Armor.
The man screamed as his chest burned from the attack. Immediately, he used a defensive technique on top of the armor to protect himself, and only then did the burning vanish.
Alex arrived behind him right then and swung at his head with his full might. It was like hitting a wall of metal.
A barrier shone around the man’s head, and while he was tossed downward, he was hardly hurt in that moment.
The man caught himself and turned around. He couldn’t see Alex, nor could he sense him, but he knew he had to be there.
The lightning wings on his back pulsed, and he propelled himself toward where Alex was at a terrifying speed, even within the slowed time.
Before the man even arrived, he was already flinging his whip at him, the tip of it turning into a lightning-shaped snake with giant fangs.
Alex distorted the space around him at the last moment, redirecting the snake in another direction so it couldn’t hit him.
He swung his sword at the same time, hitting the incoming man head-on.
The force at which the two clashed let out a massive explosion as they were both repelled backward in opposite directions.
Alex could feel the ringing in his hand from the rebound. With time being slowed, he hadn’t realized just how much momentum the man was carrying.
At the same time, the man screamed on the other side, maddened beyond any other point in his life. He was confused about how an Immortal could have this much strength, but his madness clouded his judgment at the moment.
For now, he just wanted to find Alex and deliver a hundred times the pain and frustration he felt.
