Eternal Cultivation Of Alchemy

Chapter 3444: Reason

Chapter 3444: Reason

Arriving at the empty white space, Alex immediately attempted to split his focus between here and back in his real body where he was.

If he were to ever have to use this space in a dangerous situation, he couldn’t just leave his body out there without any supervision.

Since it was a simple case of splitting consciousness, he had done it enough times to not find it difficult. Still, he felt as though he was being stretched thin when he did that here.

’I should get better with practice,’ Alex told himself.

With the consciousness in his body, he focused his attention on his Dantian where the mix of his Qi and his unique energy lay. Compared to his Qi, the amount of his unique energy was almost nothing. But the ’almost nothing’ was more than enough for what he wanted to do.

’Can’t waste any time. Just being here uses some of the energy,’ Alex thought with a sigh and proceeded to ask the question.

“Why is the Sacred Jade Lotus not allowing me to cultivate within it?” he asked the heavens.

As soon as he asked the question, the Heaven replied in the voice that was a mixture of the Sun God and the Moon Goddess.

“The Sacred Jade Lotus cannot improve the souls of those whose souls have already been pushed to their limit through external means.”

Alex broke the connection to the Heavens and returned to his body. His eyes narrowed upon returning, surprised at what the Heaven had told him.

’My soul is already at the limit? Does that mean it can’t be improved anymore?’ Alex thought as a troubled look overtook him. He paused for a moment, taking in everything. ’No. It’s only at the limit for improving it through external means. I should still be able to improve it myself.’

The few seconds where he believed this was it for his soul’s improvement had been quite terrifying, but once he realized what the Heaven had told him, he relaxed a little.

He looked back at the lotus, sighing slightly. He had quite the hope to use the lotus to push himself further, but it appeared that was it. His soul was already too strong as it currently was.

“Master,” he called out to Bladedance.

Bladedance had been standing to the side, watching the entire thing in the distance. She turned around upon hearing Alex.

Alex quickly told her what he had done and what answer he had gained.

“You asked the Heaven?” she replied with quite a bit of surprise. Despite understanding his status as a Half-God, it took a bit to fully realize what Alex was capable of.

Alex nodded.

Bladedance lowered her gaze and nodded. “Soulmother,” she called out a moment later.

The Beast God was in the middle of talking to her people when she heard Bladedance. “Yes?”

Alex couldn’t hear the next few exchanges as they were done through their Divine sense. He could only watch the Beast God’s expression change from frustration to surprise to understanding.

After a bit, she sent away the people and approached Alex.

“Are you certain?” she asked him.

Alex nodded. “The Heaven answered me, so I’m as certain as I can be.”

“Hmm…” the Beast God scratched her chin in a thoughtful expression. “You have used pills to improve your soul before?”

“Not exactly,” Alex said. The only pill he ate that could have been said to permanently improve his soul was the Spirit Junction pill, which had to be used together with the Spiritual Conjunction technique to condense one’s Spiritual energy to make it stronger.

Since Spiritual energy was a reflection of one’s soul, it could be said that he had condensed his soul using that pill. However, as it was condensed, it wasn’t improved.

He had improved its strength while making the pool of energy smaller. There was a balance.

“I have consumed 3 Spirit Cleansing Lilies, but I suppose those couldn’t be the reason, can they?” he asked.

“Most people from a decent family or sect use them in the Immortal realms,” the Beast God said. “You must have consumed something else then.”

“I haven’t,” Alex said.

“It’s what he did in Hell,” Bladedance explained just then. “To break through Quickstorm’s seal on his body, he had to push his mind to a limit beyond anyone else. Just check the strength of his Spiritual sense. You will see.”

The Beast God raised an eyebrow and looked toward Alex. “May I?”

Alex nodded and released his spiritual sense, allowing the Beast God to scan it completely with her Divine sense. As she sensed the strength of his spiritual energy, her eyes couldn’t help but widen in surprise.

“My god,” she exclaimed. “This is stronger than what most people have when they form their Divine sense. How did you manage to create something like this while in the Immortal realm?”

“It is a fruit of struggle and necessity, senior,” Alex explained. “I couldn’t have left Hell without reaching this stage, so I pushed myself to this stage as that was the only choice I had.”

The Beast God could only shake her head in awe. “I see,” she said, turning back to look at the lotus. “I was never aware that the lotuses had a limit on who they could improve. That means I’ve truly never met anyone who has pushed their soul to the limit under their current cultivation base.”

“Thank you for the opportunity, senior, but it appears I won’t be able to use this,” Alex said with a meek expression.

“Well… that’s a shame,” she said. “But you won’t be needing it either, so I don’t know if there’s any reason to be sad. However, since the three lotuses are already under your name, do you want to allow your master to use them instead?”

“I’m already a Celestial,” Bladedance said. “They can’t help me. Find someone else.”

Alex’s eyes brightened suddenly.

“I do have someone in mind,” he said, turning toward the Beast God. “Could I have my beast replace me?”
