Chapter 3433: Beast God’s Summon
Chapter 3433: Beast God’s Summon
Alex received a summons from the Beast God on a particular day. Deciding not to keep her waiting, he immediately left to find her.
The Beast God awaited his arrival in a large hall at the back of the palace, overlooking the massive backyard where the disciples trained. To the left of the palace was the giant Hall of Insects, and to the right was the Hall of Evolution, a place where beasts could visit to try and evolve.
Alex arrived at the hall and saw Flamestride sitting on the couch, along with another person he hadn’t seen before. Immediately, he recognized the person’s aura as one belonging to a beast.
With long flowing black hair and darker-than-normal skin, the female beast had a particular look that one couldn’t find just anywhere.
“You’re here,” the Beast God said out loud when she noticed his arrival. “Come in.”
Alex walked in and greeted the two on the couch before moving over to the Beast God on the balcony and greeting her as well.
“It’s been a while, senior.”
“Only 3 months. It’s not that long,” the Beast God said before gesturing for him to sit before her.
Alex took the chair and sat down.
“I don’t suppose you’ve met Blackspur before, right?” the Beast God asked. “She likes staying in her Beast Space.”
“No, this is my first time seeing her,” Alex said, turning toward the woman on the couch.
“Second time,” the woman corrected him. “But I suppose we didn’t have the luxury to introduce ourselves back then.”
Alex lifted an eyebrow in surprise. Had this woman been there with the Beast God when he was sent to Hell? Which one was this?
Alex recalled the beasts that were present there that day. There was Flamestride, the flaming horse. There was Strongclaw, the white feline beast. She was surely not the Queen of the Emperor Royal Bees, so she had to be one of the other two beasts.
She could be the ape with red fur and a black mane, but the other possibility seemed greater to Alex at that moment.
“Are you the black serpent from back then?” he asked. He remembered a black serpent with massive black crystals jutting out of its back.
“That is me,” the woman said, confirming it for Alex.
“I see. I’m sorry I can’t say it’s great to see you again, considering…”
The woman smiled.
“How has your time been in the palace? I hope my people haven’t held back their hospitality,” Soulmother asked.
Alex shook his head. “No, they have been great, senior. I have enjoyed my time here.”
“That’s good,” Soulmother said. “Speaking of which, I heard about what you did in the Hall of Insects. Is it true that you managed to awaken the Pillbugs?”
“It is true,” Alex said.
The Beast God’s eyes narrowed slightly upon his response. “Do you mind showing them to me?”
Alex hesitated internally, wondering if she would demand he give them to her or force him to do something else, but he quickly put those thoughts away and brought out the beast pouch. She had no way to force him to do anything. Not because he was strong or something, but because his master was right there in the palace.
Should something happen to him, he could just complain to Bladeance and she would resolve it for him.
He presented the beast pouch to the Beast God, who looked inside. A look of surprise flashed across her face upon seeing it. “Bring them out,” she said hurriedly, and even leaned out of her chair to take a better look at them.
Alex opened the pouch and poured out the Pillbugs.
The 10 Pillbugs landed on his palm and started crawling around in search of food. They had become so used to finding food the moment they came out of the pouch during the past 3 months that they began getting a little frantic upon not finding it.
Alex cut into his palm slightly and started bleeding, letting the tiny bugs feast on his wound. The tiny insects immediately surrounded the blood, losing sight of everything else. It was a little funny when Alex thought about it, but given that it had already been 3 months and they were still in the consuming phase, he didn’t have the heart to laugh.
“They’re really golden,” the Beast God said with quite a bit of surprise in her voice. “I’ve never heard of them becoming that color before. What dragon has golden scales?”
“Is it confirmed that they change color based on the scales of the dragon whose blood they consume?” Alex asked.
“More or less,” the Beast God said. “They were azure when I fed them Azure Dragon’s blood. There is nothing to suggest otherwise. Which makes me wonder how you were able to awaken them using your blood.” She looked up at him finally. “You did use your blood, right?”
Alex paused for a moment before slowly nodding. There was no point in lying when there had been two witnesses to what he had done. Even if the Insect Sage could somehow lie to her, Strongclaw wouldn’t, so Alex could only tell the truth.
“Why did it work?” the woman asked. “You don’t have a dragon’s bloodline, do you?”
“No,” Alex said, having long since planned what he would say if he were to be asked this. “It’s to do with my currently changed status. It made it possible.”
“Your status?” the Beast God asked, perplexed at what he could possibly mean. However, upon thinking about it, the truth of what Alex was alluding to hit her like a Celestial realm attack. “Half God!” she nearly shouted. “You’re using your Half-God powers?”
Alex nodded slowly, happy he didn’t have to say it out loud. Since she came to the conclusion herself, the lie was more believable.
“I had thought of using Pearl’s blood, but I was worried it wouldn’t work, so I resorted to this method,” he said. “I’m just thankful that it worked in the end.”
