Chapter 3354 Gifts
Chapter 3354 Gifts
Alex entered a decadent room, filled from floor to ceiling with expensive fabric, furniture, and art pieces. A massive circular bed lay at the end, with sheets made of some of the softest silk he had ever felt.
Alex sat on the bed, laying back on it as he let his body rest. From taking the massive island into his Soul Space till now, he had been surrounded by people. So finally being alone was a nice feeling.
Pearl and the rest had their own rooms, so there wasn’t anyone with him at that moment.
Technically speaking, Scarlet and Whisker were inside his Soul Space, checking on the land for any anomalies or things they could find. They were helping Ray take care of the island. If he wanted to, he could bring them out, but he didn’t want to.
Part of it was because he wanted this alone time. But part of it was also to hide the fact that Scarlet had changed physically. Pearl at least had the fact that he was the child of two Heavenly Beast bloodlines going for him, which let him deceive the others. Scarlet had nothing like that and would immediately be questioned.
Alex lay there for a long time, no thoughts coming to his mind at all. Slowly, he began looking into his Soul Space to take care of any problems that may have arisen, or to note down anything that would need changing.
Right now, the only thing they really needed was water, so he would have to go about getting that.
“I wonder if the First Scar sea is fresh water or salt water?” he wondered. For life to thrive in there, they needed fresh water, but even if it was salt water, they could always use some formation to filter out the salt.
Alex decided to ask for some water from the First Scar sea and see
how they reacted. If not, he would have to take it from the ocean instead when he arrived back in the Land of the Blessed Sun.
A few hours later, there was a knock on the door and the announcement that Frostsilk had come to visit him.
Alex frowned slightly, wondering what the Celestial was doing there. Meeting someone alone when he barely knew them worried him a little. Although he was sure he would be safe, he still chose to alert Pearl as well as ask Ray for his help inside his Soul Space.
Then, he opened the door.
Frostsilk arrived, but he wasn’t alone. The head of the family, Ashenfog, and the other Celestial, Hailcloud, were with him too. Together, they walked into the room with giant smiles.
Alex looked at them with curious glances, stepping back to let them in.
“How are you resting?” Frostsilk asked. “I hope the room is to your standard.”
“I’m used to staying out in the open, so this room is better than up to my standard. Thank you.”
The dragon smiled. He turned and gestured toward Ashenfog.
Ashenfog stepped forward and bowed slightly. “We have gathered a few things with us that we hope you will accept,” the dragon said, presenting a storage bag.
“It’s a gift from our family,” Hailcloud added.
Alex blinked in surprise. They had come here to give him a gift?
“You didn’t have to do that,” he quickly said. “Surely I cannot accept a gift when I’m already your guest.”
“Of course you can,” Frostsilk said. “Please take it, or it will be an insult to us.”
That made Alex hesitate a little before accepting the gift. “Thank you.”
“It is our pleasure. We hope the gifts will be to your liking as well,” Ashenfog said.
“We shall leave you alone now. If in a few hours you wish to take a tour of the palace, let us know. We will be happy to show you around,” Hailcloud said.
Alex nodded. “Thank you. I do look forward to the tour.”
The dragons left with a nod, leaving Alex behind alone in the room. Alex stood by the door for some time, unsure of how to feel about what had happened. He let Pearl and Ray know first that nothing bad had happened before telling them that he had been gifted a few things. At the same time, he let Scarlet and Whisker know what was happening as well.
Pearl arrived a few minutes later, while everyone else remained inside his Soul Space. Together, they checked on what Alex had been gifted.
There were not a lot of items, as Alex had expected. There were a few defensive talismans, high-grade cultivation formation rods, and a few pills for various purposes.
Aside from that, however, there were three items that caught Alex’s
eyes.
The first one was a headband, made of a deep blue metal along with a bright sapphire at the center. It was an artifact that was capable of improving the offensive strength of any attacks or skills that used Water energy as the primary power.
“A Water Skill Amplification headband, huh?” Alex spoke up in surprise. He handed it over to Pearl to check.
Pearl touched the blue metal around it, narrowing his eyes. “Is this dragon scale?” he asked.
Alex nodded. “Looks like it.”
“Who is using this?” Pearl asked.
Alex shrugged. “Either me or Whisker. Neither you nor Scarlet have a
Water spirit root after all. But since this is a Divine-grade artifact, we will both have to wait.”
He placed it into his Soul Space, where the other two checked it as
well.
“Not bad,” Scarlet said after looking through it. “It’s no worse than most of the Divine-grade artifacts we have right here.”
Alex had half a dozen Divine-grade artifacts now, waiting to be used. So this one was just one more to add to that number.
“If I ever get a Water-based skill, I’ll use it. But until then, you should
use it, brother,” Whisker said.
Alex nodded.
“Alright, off to the next one,” he said and brought out the first of the last two items they were given.
