Chapter 3340 Spatial Pocket
Chapter 3340 Spatial Pocket
Alex employed the Dao of Space as he began grabbing the space surrounding the island. The very first thing he needed to do was separate the space around the island to form its own separate pocket, so Alex spent his energy there.
Separating space by itself was difficult, so separating it at such a large scale was beyond anything Alex had ever done before. Still, he
continued, letting drops of sweat fall down his forehead as he focused on his task.
He slowly accomplished what he wanted to do, splitting away the space surrounding the island from the rest of the general space that could be considered the True Space.
He had barely managed to do it, as that took a lot out of him. And yet, when it was time for him to walk out, he realized an issue he hadn’t even expected beforehand.
The separated space was not going to remain separated.
Perhaps because his intent was weak, or because the space wasn’t separated well enough, each time he tried to let go of the control over the space, the separated space tried to merge back with the True Space.
Alex held on to it, trying to figure out what he could do. To put it all into his Soul Space, he needed to first get back out. Once he could see the entire realm as its own separate thing, placing it all into his Soul Space would be easy.
However, if he did that, the realm would immediately destabilize inside his Soul Space as well, the atmosphere he had worked so hard to contain immediately spreading thin into the emptiness. That wasn’t something he could do.
Alex tried to find other methods to keep the space stable, but he just
couldn’t find any. Finally, he let go of the space, letting it merge back with the True Space for now.
Once he failed, Alex stayed on the island for some time, considering what his options were. He was too weak to separate an entire island’s worth of space at once, so there had to be some other way.
According to Bai Jingshen, the most possible way secret realms were formed was from the gathered space of all the dead Immortals whose Soul Spaces were gathered. Alex imagined that he could probably go around and search for such untethered spatial pockets if he wanted to, but he hoped to be able to do it all on his own.
‘There has to be a way, right?’ Alex thought.
After spending some time thinking of other methods, he landed on one that he hoped would work. The principle behind this method was the same as how certain items, such as storage bags, were made.
One first created something that could hold space within it and stabilized it. Only afterward was the rest of the space poured into it.
Alex thought of what he was going to pour the space into, but quickly realized that he didn’t need anything fancy. He could just create a tiny spatial pocket and then add space within it.
With that plan, he began separating an egg-sized space right between his palms. The separated space formed almost immediately and was also stabilized quite quickly. Even when Alex let go of it, it wouldn’t merge back with the True Space.
Now that he had formed it, his task was to pour more space into this spatial pocket until it was the size he wanted it to be.
To add space, he could do it himself normally, but Alex believed that it might be better to use a formation instead. That way, he could focus on stabilizing the outside while space was filled into it.
He had plenty of formations that could help him with it, so he brought out a formation plate and set it up in front of him. After using
a few spirit stones to activate it, the formation came alive and began dragging space into a vortex, placing it into whatever was placed atop
it.
Alex had to guide the space into the spatial pocket at first, but once it found its way, it entered inside with ease.
Once it started, Alex didn’t need to guide it any further and could instead focus on stabilizing the outside of the spatial pocket. At first, the spatial pocket seemed to be expanding at quite an extreme rate as a large volume of space was packed into the tiny spatial pocket.
However, as it continued, the speed at which it expanded became slower. For the spherical spatial pocket, its diameter grew faster at first, but with the volume being added at a uniform rate, more volume was needed to increase the diameter, and hence it became slower.
It was hard to judge how long it would take before the size of the spatial pocket would grow to fit the island, but that was something Alex would have to think about later on.
Right now, his focus was on keeping the outer shell of the spatial pocket strong enough so that it didn’t burst open and merge with the
True Space.
Alex poured all of his attention into that one task, slowly spending hours on it. Even as time passed, he did not pay any mind to it,
keeping the spatial pocket safe.
The spatial pocket didn’t grow in size on the outside. It started as the size of an egg and would remain the same size, which made it much easier to handle than what he had done the first time around.
His space aura gathered around the egg-shaped ball of space as space entered it at a steady rate. With the speed of its growth slowing down, it allowed Alex to keep the space stable for a long time.
After nearly two whole days passed, Alex was at the end of his mental strength and couldn’t focus any longer.
Thankfully, around the same time, the spatial pocket finished forming
as well.
Alex stopped the formation and slowly stepped away from the egg-sized space, letting it hover there all on its own.
When it didn’t break even after a minute passed, Alex knew that he
had succeeded.
