Chapter 3109 Analyzing Blood
Chapter 3109 Analyzing Blood
Alex saw the blue-haired woman disappear into the tree and then suddenly teleport away. The strangeness of the teleportation was evidence enough that the woman had been an Azure Dragon. Only those dragons could teleport so stealthily that even he nearly failed to sense the minor spatial fluctuations happening around him.
The Azure Dragons’ innate teleportation talents were quite amusing to Alex, making him want to learn more about them. He wanted to study them further, but that would be largely impossible.
Seeing the Azure Dragon also reminded him of the Azure Dragon’s blood he carried and the need to analyze it. He had put it off for so long, but now was the time. His merging of the three Intents wasn’t going anywhere, so moving between it and the blood would be helpful during these lulls. Maybe taking a break from one thing might even help him learn something about the other.
It didn’t take him long to find where the blood was and pour it into Memory. He didn’t bring out Memory right away, though, since he needed to move first.
Pearl was going to reach the artifact soon enough, so he would have to remain close by to see where he went. So, Alex moved from his location, dashing through the woods at a speed far surpassing anyone of his cultivation realm.
He arrived far away in the rolling hills and chose a spot beneath a large tree with no other beasts in sight. Once he found the place, he finally brought out Memory and started analyzing the blood.
The Azure Dragon’s blood gave a sense of familiarity to Alex that could only come from his closeness to Pearl. Pearl still had trace amounts of the Azure Dragon’s blood, which was what Alex was sensing within it.
Of course, the amount in the blood with him was far higher than Pearl ever had. Alex sighed at the thought that Pearl had once likely
contained the same amount of Azure Dragon’s blood inside him but had to give it up.
What trajectory would his life have taken had that not happened?
‘He likely wouldn’t have met me, so it’s better I don’t think about this too closely, Alex thought and ignored all other surfacing doubts and curiosities in his mind, quelling everything to focus on what he was doing.
Truth be told, Alex hardly knew what he was doing. Just because he understood Blood Aura to a certain level didn’t mean that he understood bloodlines-and this bloodline was one of the oldest and strongest in the entire world.
The Playground had done its job in dividing everything inside the blood into its individual parts, so Alex had somewhere to start. On top of that, he had some understanding of blood thanks to the Book of Boundless Healing, so he wasn’t exactly going in blind.
Still, he had quite a bit of work to do to understand much of it.
“How does a dragon’s physique manifest itself inside a cat’s body?” Alex asked himself. “That’s the main question I have to figure out first.”
What did dragons have that Pearl didn’t?
After years of observing Pearl’s body, he knew it intimately-to the point that he didn’t need Pearl before him to understand every physiological aspect of him.
Pearl had a body, a head, four legs, and a tail. A dragon had horns, which Pearl didn’t. They also had scales, which Pearl didn’t either.
‘He does have tattoos, as if they are about to emerge, but they aren’t proper scales, Alex thought. ‘However, they do show that Pearl does indeed have trace amounts of the Azure Dragon’s bloodline, and that was before he even ate the two fruits from the Tree of Life!
As Alex considered that, he thought of something else.
Pearl’s scale-like patterns had only shown up after he had evolved to
become a White Tiger. They had never been there before. So, were they only waiting for him to fully go through an Azure Dragon evolution to reveal themselves?
‘What part of an Azure Dragon is Pearl missing then?’ Alex wondered.
He knew there was something along this topic that could help him, but his lack of understanding of an Azure Dragon’s physique made it hard to decipher more of the blood than he already had.
‘I have to do something,’ Alex thought. ‘Pearl is relying on me to heal his Soul.’
Although, given the change Pearl had gone through, the proper wording for what he had to do would be to alter the soul.
‘I have to alter Pearl’s soul so that it can return to how it was-or at least how it should be for an Azure Dragon,’ Alex thought. How he was going to do that, though, he wasn’t entirely sure.
Still, if he kept analyzing the blood, maybe it would reveal a connection between the bloodline and the soul.
Alex was lost deep in concentration over the small collection of blood
within Memory for nearly half a day and finally felt like he was getting somewhere. He had found his stride and was almost in a trance as he learned about the blood and bloodline.
And as if the world knew what it was doing, a person appeared at the most inopportune time, walking toward him from the side.
Alex found his concentration breaking as his attention was taken away. He grumbled slightly, getting somewhat angry as he turned
toward the figure.
It was a slender woman with curly black hair and a sharp jawline. Her head tilted as she looked at Alex with curiosity in her eyes.
“What are you doing there?” she asked, taking a step closer. She was still far enough away that she shouldn’t have been able to see, and Memory hardly let any vagrant Spiritual Sense see inside her.
“None of your business,” Alex said as he glared at her. “If you could, please leave me alone. I am busy.”
The woman grinned slightly. “Oh, but that wouldn’t be so fun, would it?” she asked. “Why don’t we spar instead? I’ve come a long way.”
