Chapter 3104 Another Ambush
Chapter 3104 Another Ambush
The older woman immediately gave up any thoughts of saving her dying kin and instead put all her attention into fighting Pearl. She took her original form-a blue bird that was a mix between a vulture and a hawk-and charged talon first into the incoming Pearl.
Talon met rosesteel, creating a ringing sound that reverberated throughout the forest. He stepped back, throwing out a spear attack again. The woman flapped her wings, creating an icy wind around her that blocked Pearl’s attack.
Pearl teleported in another direction, using his Heavenly Revolving Spear Strike technique to strike at her. However, the woman easily blocked it with little to no effort.
Now that she wasn’t fighting to protect, she could finally focus on her own strengths, which were obviously much higher than Pearl’s.
Pearl frowned as the situation became clearer to him. How the hell was an Immortal Transcendent realm cultivator meant to defeat a beast that was an entire set of cultivation realms higher than him?
Worse than that, he had to do it while hiding his other abilities. It was disconcerting, but to his credit, not once did he think of running
away.
One way or another, Pearl was going to find a way to win this battle.

Alex watched Pearl’s battle from afar with a strange look on his face, one that was a mixture of surprise and pride. It was rare that he got to see Pearl fight so seriously, with an understanding that there was no safety net-no grandpa or brother to come save him if things went
awry.
He fought fabulously, dealing with two of his three ambushers. Now that he only had the third one remaining, things had gotten a bit more difficult for him.
‘He doesn’t have his Divine realm strength, and he can’t use any of his bloodline abilities in fear of letting the purists know where he is, Alex thought. ‘Can he win this way?’
Deep inside, Alex knew that the best Pearl could do in this situation was reach a standstill. Victory was just too difficult. He wanted to go help, but sadly, he couldn’t. This was Pearl’s battle, and-
Alex’s thoughts vanished instantly as something in the distance caught his eyes. Numerous colors moved toward the location where Pearl was fighting. They had been in hiding all this time, and the battle had roused them out of it.
‘Are they going to ambush him too?’ Alex thought with a frown. No sooner had he thought it than he found himself leaping across the trees, traveling at breakneck speed toward the colorful lights.
He avoided getting too close to Pearl and circled around his location before arriving at a place where the colors would naturally gather. This close, it was getting harder to check their location, but soon they began revealing themselves as they sensed Alex as well.
Beasts in human form came out of the thicket, slowly approaching Alex with strange looks on their faces. They were quite wary of Alex, as they should be, but more than that, they were wary of themselves as well.
Alex could see the beasts judging the other beasts, trying to figure out whether they could defeat the ones here or not. Some started fighting right away, while some returned the way they came from, not wanting to deal with the situation in any way.
But six still remained, each on guard for any moment.
Alex leaned against a tree, standing between the six beasts and Pearl. “May I ask why you have come here?”
One of the beasts, a stern-looking man, ignored Alex and tried to go around him to where Pearl was. He wanted an easy win on his record after all. In the midst of doing it, however, the beast suddenly felt
something grab his throat.
The next moment, the world seemed to zoom past him as he arrived next to a tree, with Alex standing beside him, holding his neck.
Alex turned toward the beast. “Please don’t be so rude. I was speaking.”
He tossed the man back where he came from, destroying a couple of trees along the way. The man got up from the ground with a broken back and a bruised neck. He stared at Alex, a look of fear apparent on his face.
He wasn’t the only one. The other beasts showed fear as well. Not a single one understood what had just happened. They had simply seen Alex raise his hand to the left, and in the next moment, the man had appeared on it.
This was far too bizarre.
“Is there a reason why you stand before us?” the only woman in the group of beasts asked.
“Yes,” Alex said. “My brother fights behind me, so I don’t want any of you to bother him. If you want to fight him, I can allow you to once that fight is done. But until then, I will ask you to stay away!”
“And what if we attack you?” one of the men said.
“Together?” Alex asked with a smile on his face as he stared at each of the beasts. They were clearly not the type to work together considering they had come here separately.
The beasts looked at each other for a moment, seemingly coming to a conclusion without a word.
Immediately, two of them charged toward Alex-one created a wind blade before him, the other threw out flames.
The woman acted at the same time as well, but instead of going for Alex, she went for the man Alex had weakened earlier.
The remaining three were a step late. One of them went toward the woman, while the other two got ready to attack Alex.
Alex took a deep breath and held out his palm as if it were a sword blade. With a strained thought, he formed his Sword Intent around his palm and swung at the incoming fire.
The flame exploded outward, cut in half by the incoming wind attack. Alex then turned and swung at the wind attack as well, destroying it instantly. Flames and wind spread out like a shockwave, but that didn’t stop the other two from attacking right away.
