Chapter 2962: Command to Undo

Chapter 2962: Command to Undo

Bai Zhuqiang sat on the seat of the patriarch, watching the four slowly enter into the room. His eyes passed through each one, ending at Alex where it remained for the remaining duration.

“Patriarch,” the three White Tigers quickly bowed, so Alex followed suit, quietly bowing toward the patriarch.

“Hmm? This is him?” the patriarch asked with a somewhat disdainful tone to his voice. “You said he would surprise me, Jingshen. He is no stronger than young Shouchuang.”

“He is a talented young man, patriarch,” Bai Jingshen said quickly. “And he has the potential to become a very strong cultivator in the future.”

“So does Shouchuang,” the patriarch said with a thoughtful look. “I don’t see any reason to delay my judgment for later, so we might as well be done with it.”

He turned toward Alex. “Undo the bond you have formed with Shouchuang right away. Then you may leave with the Sword God once you’re done.”

Alex hadn’t even gotten back up from his bow when the patriarch suddenly said so. He froze halfway through his rise and remained there for a full few seconds before looking up.

“Huh?”

“What?” Pearl was surprised as well.

“Patriarch, please don’t be so hasty,” Bai Jingshen said. “You will need to spend some time to learn more about him.”

“I do not,” the patriarch said. “My verdict is final. I will wait for you to undo your bond and then you may leave.”

“Patriarch—”

“Jingshen, stay out of it,” the patriarch said. “We cannot have someone who can become the future of the White Tigers bonded to another human. In the first place, such a thing should not have even happened. You failed to undo their bond when you had the chance, so it is now up to me.”

Alex frowned.

Pearl looked back and forth between the patriarch and Bai Jingshen with a strange look on his face. “Is this another test?” he asked.

“This is no test,” the patriarch said, walking away from his seat as he walked toward Alex. “Initiate the undoing of your bond. Now!”

Alex sucked in a deep breath. “No, patriarch,” he said. “I will not be doing that.”

A pressure suddenly landed on Alex, making him buckle to it. He landed on one knee, his right hand pressed to the ground as he tried to keep himself up.

“This is not a request,” the patriarch said. “This is a command. If it were up to me, I would’ve undone it already, but sadly it will only hurt Shouchuang’s soul if you aren’t the ones to initiate the bond.”

Alex gulped strongly, feeling the force of the pressure that was pressed onto him.

Pearl stepped forward. “Patriarch, please stop it. He is my brother. We have been bonded for far too long to get rid of it now.”

The patriarch didn’t even turn toward Pearl. He kept his eyes on Alex, the pressure slowly increasing upon him.

Alex slowly raised his head, glaring at the patriarch. He struggled to say anything at all, but his eyes did all the speaking that was needed.

They showed clear defiance to what he was being told to do.

The patriarch didn’t like it. The pressure doubled on Alex, his bones creaking under a force that would’ve flattened a regular Immortal by now. Even a Divinity would likely fall down to all fours at this point, but Alex hadn’t.

The patriarch might have noticed that, had he not been so driven by anger at Alex’s actions.

“I am giving you a chance to live!” the patriarch said. “Do you think this is the only way I can use to undo your bond? I can kill you and it will work the same. And if you continue defying me, I wouldn’t mind that either.”

Bai Fulin stood to the back, unsure what else she could do but watch.

Bai Jingshen had nothing he could do in this situation either. The only thing he could have done was keep Alex from coming here, but that had long since passed. Now that he was in trouble, the only possible way to save Alex was to help him teleport away.

And that wouldn’t exactly solve the situation, but only delay it until a later date. At that point, the patriarch would likely get angrier too.

So, he chose to do nothing, and hoped that somehow through this the patriarch could come to see what he had seen in Alex.

The patriarch stepped closer, the pressure slowly increasing on Alex.

“Do it!” he spoke, commanding the room with every word. “Undo the bond.”

The pressure continued to force itself upon Alex even further and further. He had been able to handle the force until now, but it had reached a point where he could no longer.

His other leg buckled too, so he was down on both his knees, his palms pressed against the marble floor, sweat dripping down his forehead, making its way through the bridge of his nose until it reached the tip and dropped to the floor.

Droplets of his sweat covered the polished floor, each one reflecting Alex’s current anguish.

The pressure wasn’t just a physical pressure but also a mental one. Each push pressed him in both body and mind, and just as he was suffering in his body, he was suffering in his mind as well.

Alex fought back with as much effort as he could, but this was a Celestial. He had no way at all to keep his mind safe from the pain.

The force was so much that Alex simply couldn’t keep himself up any longer. At any moment now, he would fall unconscious.

Still, he didn’t want to go out like this.

He gritted his teeth and slowly looked up, showing the patriarch that even at this moment, he defied him.

The patriarch stepped closer and the pressure increased, reaching a point where Alex could no longer hold himself up.

Just as he was about to lose his consciousness, Alex felt a warmth grow out of the depths of his body, pushing away at the pressure. Newest update provided by N0veI.Fiɾe.net

At the same time, he heard a whisper.

“I shall help you.”
