Chapter 2957: Nothing More to Do
Chapter 2957: Nothing More to Do
“Tribulation Lightning? I haven’t heard of anyone using it as their Creation before,” Bai Jingshen said with a curious look. “I wouldn’t know if it’s possible or not.”
“Master said it’s a bad idea, because it isn’t as offensive as I think it is,” Alex said. “She said Heavenly Judgment lightning is better, but I wouldn’t know how to even begin to get a hold of that at all.”
“You can forget about getting Heavenly Judgment lightning as your Creation. You will die before you ever even get a chance to absorb any aura from it. It is the most vicious of all lightning bolts. Xuan Luhei barely managed to survive at all, and that too because we came here right away.”
“Senior Luhei?” Alex asked with a concerned look. “He’s wounded?”
“The snake brother of the two nearly died,” Bai Jingshen said. “Only his soul had survived when we teleported here. The Black Tortoise took him away immediately, and I later heard that he had survived, but not without having lost his body.”
Alex could only stare in horror at that information. “That’s terrible.”
“Yes, that is Heavenly Judgment. If you’re not prepared for it, it can kill you,” Bai Jingshen said. “Even when you’re prepared, it can still kill you. Xiao Ren nearly died the same way too. Had I not arrived in time, she would’ve died as well.”
Alex nodded slowly, feeling a little guilty upon hearing that.
He had been the reason why Xiao Ren, Pearl’s great-grandmother, had nearly died back then.
“If the Sword God said Tribulation Lightning is a bad idea, then it most likely is a bad idea,” Bai Jingshen said. “So maybe you should look elsewhere for another Creation. I will still search for what I can find. I’ll come visit you in a few weeks when I’m done gathering the information.”
Alex bowed slightly. “Thank you for all you do for me, brother Shen.”
Bai Jingshen smiled. “Oh, and I’ve sent a message to Scarlet. She should be replying soon, depending on when she receives it.”
Alex gleamed. “That’s great to hear.”
Bai Jingshen left the room, leaving Alex, Pearl, and Whisker to be by themselves.
“Brother,” Pearl said. “If you want to absorb Guardian Tiger as your Creation, I’m happy to share. With the technique you found some years ago, we can easily make use of the corpse arm’s aura without having to worry about not having enough.”
“No, that’s fine,” Alex said. “I don’t particularly think I would want any Transformation type Creation. I have learned to fight as a human with a sword, so changing that now would be detrimental to my fighting style. And I can’t imagine I will gain much from becoming a Guardian Tiger either.”
“If it were just the Guardian Tiger’s beast core, then maybe I would’ve considered it, but since the core was used to form its spirit back in Hell, we can’t use that.”
Alex also already had another transformation ability in the Blood Demon, and that was annoying enough. At least, that one was humanoid. If he got a beast transformation, he would have to learn how to fight all over again, which—even if it would somehow be good in the long run—he didn’t want.
In the end, Alex could only leave the last few Origins open for when luck struck and he got something.
He moved the topic to something else, asking Pearl how he was doing in this place now that it was his home. Had he made any friends? Or maybe enemies?
“The trial has taken over all of my thoughts, brother,” Pearl said. “I haven’t had the chance to meet anyone else. I want to go meet my cousins and uncles, but I have no time.”
Alex nodded.
“Well, at least I won’t have to worry about it now,” Pearl said. “Since grandpa would be coming with me, I won’t have any underhanded battles to worry about. I’ll complete the trial with my best capacity.”
“I’m sure you will,” Alex said. He patted Pearl on the side. “I’ll let you be then. I have some things of my own to do. Whisker, do you want to stay here or will you come with me? Senior Wu Shaozhe is planning on leaving this world with my Master soon, so he might need some help the next few days.”
“Oh! I’ll come,” Whisker said. “I have to check on the plants and beasts in the Beast realm too.”
Alex nodded. “I’m thinking of letting the beasts go free whenever we can. Do you think that’s alright?” he asked.
Whisker thought for a moment. “That might be a good idea. They don’t have any reason to live in your Soul Space, and they will benefit more by living in a place with more potent Qi. You will benefit from it too.”
“Well, I don’t know how much I will benefit from having simple Saints and True beasts leave my Soul Space,” Alex said. “I think the difference will be minimal.”
“Any improvement is good, isn’t it?” Whisker asked.
Alex shrugged. He couldn’t argue about that.
“We’ll be leaving now, Pearl. We’ll see you soon when my Master is about to leave.”
“See you later, brother.”
Pearl went back to cultivating, and Alex left the palace as well. The guards gave him strange looks, most likely because he was a human inside the main palace.
He moved over to the other smaller palace to the side that he had been allowed to stay in, where the beasts recognized him and didn’t stare at him like the others did.
Bladedance and Battlesage were in their room, so Alex decided not to disturb them. He went into his room and sat down, thinking of what he could do next.
Whisker disappeared into Alex’s Soul Space, leaving Alex alone to make the decision.
“Cultivate,” Alex thought to himself. “I haven’t cultivated in a long time, so it might be time I did.”
He brought out a cultivation pill, realizing he was running out of it as well. “I should make more later,” he thought to himself and closed his eyes, soon getting lost in his cultivation session.
