Chapter 150: Talk With Chancellor Viviana

  • Next Chapter

My life was like a novel, but I had complete control over it. Naturally, a novel needed an antagonist if I made myself the protagonist so how could I miss this opportunity to make Hades the recurring antagonist?

I had to make life more interesting, but also make sure my fun didn’t end up making my lovers suffer.

My expression turned sharp. ’Just keep a close, passive eye on Hades’ divine frequency. The second he attempts to make another move against me, my family, or my wives... give me an immediate heads-up.’

[Understood, Host!] Paige chirped.

Then I stroked my chin, a brilliant, thoroughly petty idea striking my mind. ’Hey, Paige... speaking of Hades... is there any way you can tamper with his divine body remotely.’

Paige paused, confused. [Tamper with his divine body? Like... how?]

’Can you give the Greek God of Death a massive, violent case of explosive diarrhea right now?’ I asked with a completely straight face.

Dead silence inside my head. For three solid seconds, Paige couldn’t even form a coherent thought.

[W-WHAT?!] Paige shrieked in complete, speechless shock. [Seth!! You want me to use our primordial Origin authority... to give a literal CHIEF GOD of the Greek Pantheon... EXPLOSIVE DIARRHEA?]

’Why not?’ I smirked, turning back toward Viviana, Yoona, Val, and Yerin. ’He tried to blow my jet out of the sky. Giving him a severe stomach ache is a completely fair response. Plus... it’s hilariously petty.’

Paige let out a long, breathless burst of giggles inside my mind, thoroughly amused by the absurdity of the order.

[AHAHAHA! Oh, you are terrible, Seth!] Paige cackled happily. [Bypassing his divine resistance through Origin channels now... target locked on Hades’ stomach! Execution sequence... GO!]

Somewhere far away in the divine realm of the Greek Pantheon, the ancient God of Death was about to experience a very, very bad day.

Meanwhile, I stood on the marble platform, keeping my expression entirely neutral while suppressing a massive, deeply satisfying smirk. Somewhere in the Greek Underworld, an ancient God of Death was about to suffer a truly humbling medical crisis, courtesy of Paige.

I took a quiet breath, turning my gaze away from the pile of unconscious mercenaries toward my head of security.

"Hey, Val?" I asked, resting my hands in my pockets. "Do you happen to know an mercenary group called the Tartarus Vanguard?"

Val’s posture immediately straightened. Her eyes narrowed slightly as she gave a firm, clear nod. "Yes. The Tartarus Vanguard is a high-tier, international mercenary syndicate. They operate across multiple realms and are famous for accepting high-risk contracts from practically every pantheon or major faction, provided the pay meets their absurdly high rates."

She glanced down at the bound men lying on the stone, her brow furrowing into a sharp line. "Are these men affiliated with them?"

"Yeah," I confirmed, stepping over the edge of their mana chains. "These people belong to the Vanguard. They were sent here specifically to target our jet. They also targetted Yerin’s concert."

I paused, lowering my voice slightly so only Val, Yoona, Yerin, and Chancellor Viviana could hear me. "But there’s a deeper layer to this. These guys weren’t just executing a standard contract. Someone was actively controlling their minds through a divine thread, using them as puppets without them even realizing it."

I deliberately kept the name of Hades out of my mouth.

If a Chief God from the Greek Pantheon was going out of his way to orchestrate covert strikes against me, letting the world know I had already identified him would only force him to change his tactics or hide deeper in the shadows. If I was going to deal with a God of Death, I wanted to play the long game on my own terms and catch him off guard when the time came.

Standing a few feet away, Chancellor Viviana crossed her arms, her sharp blue eyes locking onto me with intense scrutiny.

"That is a remarkably specific diagnostic for a fresh transfer student to make on unconscious men," Viviana noted, her smooth voice carrying a cool, inquisitive edge. "How exactly did you discern that they were being puppeteered by an external divine entity?"

I gave a casual, unbothered shrug, offering her a sheepish grin. "Honestly, Chancellor? I have no real clue how to explain the technical process. My Astral Soul Origin often operates in ways that I don’t fully understand yet. It gives me sudden, absolute insights into soul pathways and mana threads. That’s actually one of the main reasons I’m here at Avalon Academy, to figure out how my own soul works."

Viviana stared at me in silence for several seconds, her clear gaze assessing my posture, my breathing, and the calm aura surrounding me.

Slowly, the tension on her face softened into an expression of quiet approval.

"I see," Viviana spoke, her tone turning warm and welcoming. "In that case... on behalf of Avalon Academy, I officially welcome you, Seth Fernando. Our institution possesses the most extensive archives and high-tier instruction in the world regarding Astral Souls and primordial authorities. We will provide you with every academic and practical resource required to help you master your power."

Her expression then shifted, turning firm, serious, and deeply principled.

"However..." Viviana continued, eyeing me sharply, "...you must understand that an Astral Soul of your caliber is an extraordinarily dangerous asset. Unchecked power without a grounded character inevitably leads to ruin. Therefore, despite your background as the heir to the Fernando family and the holder of Origin, the Academy will not afford you excessive preferential treatment. You will be held to the exact same standards, trials, and discipline as every other student on this island."

A wide, genuine smile spread across my face as I waved my hand dismissively. "Honestly, Chancellor, I prefer it that way."

Viviana raised an eyebrow, mildly surprised by my immediate agreement.

"If you gave me special treatment or put me on a pedestal from day one, it would just turn me into a giant target," I explained dryly. "Every overly ambitious noble student on campus would come looking for a fight out of envy or spite, and dealing with that kind of drama sounds incredibly annoying and troublesome. I didn’t come to Avalon to play high-society politics. I came here to learn, enjoy a normal student life, and gather suitable members for my Sovereign Deck."
