ENERGI: THE PRIMORDIAL CONDUIT[OP MC, APOCALYPSE, SURVIVAL, AND LITRPG]
CHAPTER 149: REVELATION!
Genesis Worlds.
These newly Awakened worlds were hot commodities among the major powers of the universe.
Not only was it easy for these worlds to develop rare ores, herbs, and treasures of high ranks, but even their inhabitants were lusted after by these major forces.
These were talents forged through countless life-and-death situations, and to survive, many of them were geniuses among geniuses, with far more experience under their belts than those in far more developed worlds, who lived fairly peaceful lives and had lived for hundreds of years.
Not to mention that during the System Trials, its shop was usually accessible for a time period, something that rarely happened in the outer worlds.
It was easy for such worlds to possess several legendary items, treasures that only served as great heirlooms for great families and organizations in the universe.
Of course, everything has its drawbacks, no matter how great the blessing appears. Just as these first-generation inhabitants were great geniuses, they also lacked firm foundations, unlike the geniuses of great powers in the outside universe.
For these unawakened planets to awaken, they needed a primer, which was the System Descent, bringing with it a washing of the purest mana.
And during this process, the inhabitants were able to innately receive an aspect of the world's natural power and claim it as their own.
This power was called a Class.
The System helps in the integration of this power, as every power has a weight, and not many could bear its burden.
And yet, even with the assistance of the System, many still fail to hold this power, thereby leading to the corruption of their souls.
This was how the undead were birthed.
Yet what many don't know, but will find out if they ever reach the peak of power, is that there is no free lunch in this world.
Just as the System helped in the awakening of Classes, it also tightened a noose around the neck of the Awakened, making them firmly subject to its control, and ensuring they could never grow close to it, let alone surpass it and threaten its authority. Of course, there were other tricks the omnipotent System had employed to make sure the greatest power remained firmly in its hands, but only the Old Ones of the cosmos knew the true knowledge of this truth.
Power has weight.
At a certain level, even the name of a powerful being carried weight, which was why Diana, the ruler of an entire Nexus Citadel, and a human qualified to stand among the peak of her race, had almost torn her own brain to mush just from hearing a small portion of the name of one of the mysterious beings.
On the day Kael had awakened, the System had timed its descent in such a manner, holding the mysterious beings in a separate space for a long time, so that when the apocalypse descended, Kael would be placed in a situation where he would have to choose his path.
It was almost as if the System had always known the Class he would wield, but perhaps such a feat was not beyond such an omnipotent being.
Faced with a life-and-death situation the instant the apocalypse descended, while confronted by an Elite zombie—a true horror even on this current battlefield—Kael had no choice but to choose Path Two.
But what he didn't know was that if he had chosen to carry the full weight of a Primordial Class, even if his soul had not been corrupted, his body would have exploded under such a tremendous burden, never meant for a mortal vessel.
How could a mere newly awakened human wield the power of laws, a power only accessible to actual gods? To put it into context, none of the mysterious beings who had descended was an actual god. At most, they were demi-gods, and yet they possessed powers such that even their figures where the size of galaxies.
Even now, despite Kael's talent being called Primordial Devourer, in its actual description, its ranking was denoted with a series of question marks.
And there was a reason for that.
Yet Kael, in his stubbornness after seeing the Primordial Instinct use his own Class in a manner he would have never thought possible, embarked on the path of possessing what should have always been his own.
That in itself was not wrong. Because as he grew stronger, so would his soul follow. But at the same time, the more he integrated with the System, the more the noose around his neck would continue to tighten.
Which called into question whether the System had good or bad intentions towards him, despite its many unexplainable acts of assistance.
But one thing was clear.
If Kael wanted to walk Path One, a path molded by his own hand, it would not be an easy feat. Which was proven by the fact that despite training for an entire month, he had no inkling of how to even progress forward.
Which was why what Rachel had just accomplished was described by even the System as being monumental.
To break outside the System's control and wield your own power required unimaginably high natural talent, not to mention some degree of luck.
And as fate would have it, Rachel, despite having a Class, had never used it. Whether it was because of her disgust towards such a weak power, or her hatred at being dealt another terrible hand when her life was already miserable, none of that mattered. The noose around her neck had never had the opportunity to fully tighten.
And now, what mattered was that she had become one of the few in the universe to achieve such a feat. That she had broken one of the System's restrictions, opening a new path before her...one that could someday evolve into something far more terrifying.
Sure, her Class rank was still inherently weak as a Common-rank one, but she now had the opportunity to personally mold it into something that was truly hers.
How ironic that she who had always envied Kael because of how powerful he was now possessed the one thing the latter could only hope to achieve.
Rachel read the messages before her.
[Congratulations! You have achieved a momentous feat!]
[You have received 100 Achievement Points.]
There was a pause, before the next messages flowed in.
[Title Acquired: System Breaker I (SSS)]
[Description: You have broken one of the fundamental restrictions imposed upon awakened beings. Though your chains remain, one has already shattered.]
[Effect: The limitation on Title acquisition has been permanently removed.]
[You may now acquire Titles regardless of the number already possessed.]
[Future Titles may be earned through feats, discoveries, mastery, and impossible accomplishments.]
[Warning: The System has registered an anomalous deviation in your growth path.]
[Hidden Evolution Path unlocked.]
[System synchronization has decreased by 1%.]
[The road beyond the System has acknowledged your first step.]
There was another pause before a final message appeared, this one ominously sounding more like a message than a notification.
[Only time will tell if you have chosen wisely, Mortal]
