Endless Leveling Done Right!

Chapter 673: The Ruler Of The Mistral Weave Forest [Part 3]

Once upon a time, when the first melody was played, the God of Music was born. And as this culture grew rapidly, people learned how to sing.

Some were good at singing, some were not. Yet, there were also singers who were simply too bad at singing that people wondered where their confidence was coming from.

Due to the wretched existence of these very talented tone-deaf singers, the Tone Deaf God was born.

One day, while listening to classical music with the God of Music, a voice that broke the barriers of time and space reached the Tone Deaf God’s ears.

This horrendous singing voice was like the combination of the honk of a dying goose, the sound of a broken trumpet, and the squealing of thousands of pigs being slaughtered at the same time.

Even the God of Music chilling right beside the Tone-Deaf God suddenly lost consciousness from it, as if Alex’s singing had given him an uppercut.

“Perfect!”

That was the only word the Tone Deaf God could say after hearing this singing voice. Then, as if finding his chosen one, the Tone Deaf God didn’t hesitate to bestow a Divine Skill to Alex.

And that Divine Skill was none other than Voice of the End.

———

[Voice of the End]

“He sang so off-key that the universe gave him a weapon.” – Tone Deaf God, Patron of Musical Mayhem.

Skill Grade: Divine Active Skill

— Unleash a sonic blast of catastrophic disharmony. Can cause confusion, dizziness, spiritual trauma, and spontaneous existential crises to all who hear it within a 50-meter radius.

— Ignore all Defenses.

— Barriers will not protect anyone from this sh*t—err, skill.

— Friendly fire is an inevitable side effect of using this skill.

Cooldown: 5 minutes.

Note: Use with caution. Effects may include shattered friendships, exorcised spirits, collapsed structures, and irreparable psychological damage.

———

This skill only had a range of 50 meters. However, that range was extended by Dim Dim’s Megaphone, which was a Divine Artifact!

When cranked to the limit, it could magnify anything up to ten thousand times!

Alex’s normal singing voice was one thing.

But a Divine Skill being magnified by a Divine Artifact?

No wonder Dim Dim reached enlightenment by shutting off its senses for self-preservation!

“S-Stop!” Evarisse pleaded. “Please… stop!”

She could not gather any strength in her body because her superhuman senses were being assaulted in full force by Alex’s singing.

If she only knew that the lover of her daughter had this kind of trump card, she might have thought about it thrice before trying to humiliate him and driving him into a corner!

Yet her pleas were drowned out by Alex’s singing voice. Once he had entered “The Zone”, it would take him a while to break out of it.

Less than two minutes had passed since Alex had started singing, and yet, it felt like an eternity for Evarisse.

When Alex finally stopped his song, the block of ice that had trapped Latifa and her Alters shattered completely.

Perhaps, Evarisse subconsciously focused her strength to keep her spell active in order to safeguard her daughter from suffering the same fate she did.

Latifa and her Alters looked around and saw that their mother was on the ground, twitching like an insect that had been sprayed with bug spray.

They called out to her, but she had temporarily lost her hearing and had fallen unconscious. Yet, even in that state, her body still remembered the reverberations of Alex’s song.

Truth be told, the thought of slapping Alex earlier had crossed Evarisse’s mind. However, she was afraid that she might accidentally kill her daughter’s lover, which would make Latifa hate her for life.

Not wanting such a thing to befall her, Evarisse decided to shield herself from Alex’s singing using barriers.

Unfortunately, his Divine Skill bypassed any kind of defenses, so she was still hit by the brunt of his singing.

“Mother, please wake up!” Latifa lightly tapped her mother’s cheek, while Lumi approached Alex to ask why Dim Dim was shining and floating on top of his head.

Lumi even stood on tiptoes to hold the floating bun before holding it firmly in her hands.

“What is this?” Lumi took off Dim Dim’s noise-canceling earmuffs, which made the little bun shudder.

A moment later, it opened its eyes. It blinked once, then twice before looking at Lumi, who was staring down at it.

“Dim Dim?” Dim Dim asked.

“Is it over?” Lumi frowned. “What’s over?”

As if that was all the confirmation it needed, Dim Dim patted its body and sighed in relief.

It was still alive and well, while the Rank 8 Celestial Fox was down for the count.

Dim Dim made a mental note to give the manufacturer of the noise-canceling earmuffs it bought a five-star review later.

“Alex, what happened?” Lotte asked as she moved closer to the young man, who was still holding the megaphone in his hand. “What happened to my mother? Why is she unconscious?”

“She’s probably tired,” Alex answered innocently.

“Tired?” Lotte glanced back at the unconscious woman with a doubtful look on her face.

A Rank 8 Celestial Fox was such a strong existence that the only time it would feel tired was after a battle ended.

Though, since there was no creature that was its match inside the Mistral Weave Forest, there was no way Evarisse would feel tired, especially since she could easily trap them in a block of ice.

Ten minutes later, Evarisse finally regained her consciousness. The first thing she did was shout at Alex, telling him to get out of her domain.

Then, as if thinking that he might try to sing once more, she waved her hand, as if banishing him from her domain.

With that, Alex suddenly found himself standing at the entrance of the Mistral Weave Forest on his own.

Clearly, Evarisse wasn’t taking any second chances after being exposed to Alex’s trump card.

The sheer horror she felt at that time was enough for her to not want to see the young man ever again.

However, thinking that Alex might return to her domain to get revenge if she didn’t allow him to date her daughter, Evarisse reluctantly told Latifa that she could continue seeing Alex.

While she didn’t know what transpired between her lover and her mother, Latifa was very happy that her mother had finally approved of Alex.

At least, that was what she was thinking at that time. Though, if anything, it was very far from the truth.
