Chapter 659: She’s The Type To Hold Grudges

“Hy-Brasil.”

That single word made Aeris’ perfect demeanor crack.

Alex had just mentioned the place she had been searching for. A place that held a special place in her heart. A place that contained the memories of her childhood.

“H-How did you know?” Aeris asked.

“I know many things,” Alex replied. “Didn’t I mention this already? I’m a Seer.”

Alex had mentioned the same excuse from the beginning as a way to explain why he knew things that had yet to happen. Although people didn’t necessarily believe him, they had no choice but to accept it.

At this, Aeris immediately bit her lip, looking at Alex with a conflicted gaze.

’She looks kind of cute when she’s like this,’ Alex thought.

Aeris had always looked perfect in everything. Her every gesture, smile, look, and even the way her hair fluttered was even overanalyzed by her fans, which Alex thought was exaggerated.

But facing her like this, he had to admit… The gap between her perfection and miniscule moments of imperfection made him sigh in his heart.

Why?

Because although it wasn’t much, he had finally seen the “imperfect” version of her. Something no one had ever seen in the game of ELO.

“I know you have a lot of questions.” Alex smiled faintly. “But as I said, I won’t get anything from answering them. You called me here to interrogate me and extract my secrets. But you know, sister-in-law, what you want doesn’t come cheap.”

Hearing him call her sister-in-law again, Aeris regained her composure and glared at Alex. At this, the young man only smirked. There was no need to hide anything anymore.

Aeris had a very strong memory, and she could see falsehood without fail. Since he had already slipped once, there was no point hiding anymore.

Besides, now that she knew that Alex was interested in Lapiz, she would be more aware of him as a person… and stop treating him like some random student in the academy.

“I won’t trade my sister to you in exchange for the information that I want,” Aeris said coldly.

“Trade?” Alex shook his head. “Lapiz is not something you can trade. And even if you did, I won’t accept that ridiculous trade.”

“Then what do you want?” Aeris asked.

Alex really didn’t have anything in mind, so he decided to use the common line that was used by villains in the game to see what kind of reaction Aeris would give him.

“Your body,” Alex replied like a third-rate villain. “Become my woman, and I’ll tell you everything you need to know. I can even tell you when exactly Hy-Brasil would appear.”

“Y-You vile man!” Aeris said through gritted teeth.

“I am called the Blackmail King of the Academy.” Alex leaned on his chair. “Of course, I am supposed to be vile.”

Right now, Alex was doing his best to make Aeris become wary of him. Frankly, he didn’t like the perfect heroine to always approach him like this so casually.

It throws him off very much, so he decided to return the favor. He would make it so that she didn’t approach him again.

“So what will it be?” Alex asked. “Do we have a deal or not? Also, let me just say this. If you miss the appearance of Hy-Brasil this year, you will have to wait for seven years for it to appear again.

“Well, you’re an elf. You have a very long lifespan, so waiting for seven more years will not be a problem for you, right?”

Alex felt his throat feel a little parched so he drank what was left of his latte. Frankly, he wasn’t expecting anything from Aeris.

The two of them were not meant to cross paths.

He knew what her route was like, and to be honest, Alex was only a bystander in the greater scheme of things.

The young man was similar to Chuck. Someone who only made short appearances in the game, just Villager A whom the Perfect Heroine needed to interact with before she went to her next scene.

And just as Alex expected, Aeris stood up and shot him one last glare before walking away.

The elven princess didn’t even look back, not even once.

’Her steps are uneven now,’ Alex mused. ’I might have really shaken her.’

While the young man was enjoying watching the princess’s retreating back, someone suddenly sat on his lap and rested their head on his shoulder.

“You should really be more careful when it comes to girls, Alex,” Vaan said in a teasing tone. “It seems that you’ve made an enemy of the president of the Obsidian Fang.”

Alex blinked after seeing Vaan sitting on his lap. They often did something like this to keep his secret from everyone, protecting the last bloodline of the Damne Family.

As expected, the waitresses and some of the girls in the cafe squealed after seeing this lovey dovey scene, which made the young man chuckle.

“Well, she annoyed me first,” Alex replied after finishing his cup. “I only return what is given to me!”

Vaan giggled before reluctantly standing up. He then patted Alex’s shoulder and bid him goodbye to return to his next class.

However, after walking for a few steps, he returned to whisper something in Alex’s ear.

“Be careful with girls like Aeris,” Vaan whispered. “She’s the type to hold grudges.”

Alex nodded. “I’ll keep that in mind.”

One of the handful of imperfections that made Aeris more humane was this part of her that kept grudges. The ironic part was that she would not hesitate to wait for the “perfect” opportunity to have his revenge.

Even her revenge must be done perfectly, keeping her Perfect Heroine persona.

But Alex wasn’t worried.

He now held one of her weaknesses—the information of Hy-Brasil.

The princess’s route revolved around that mystical island, which was where her mother disappeared two years after giving birth to her brother, Prince Kaelen.

Of course, Alex wasn’t being mean or anything. Lapiz’s, Aeris’, and Prince Kaelen’s mother was still alive.

In fact, he was planning to rescue her in Hy-Brasil, which would appear a week after the inter-academy competition in the Kingdom of Faelarun ended.

It would be a very dangerous mission, but with his Dream Team’s lineup, he believed that they would be enough to complete this mission without fail.

However, Alex had underestimated how serious Aeris was when it came to saving her mother, which he would realize the next time they saw each other.
