Endless Horde: Through the Eyes of a Godking

Chapter 939 939: Inching Closer

Cedric would check the progress of the colonization from time to time…

The passing years were like mere hours for him at this point; sometimes he would find himself in a trance for years at a time. The most recent time that happened was just now.

He had been observing the colonization efforts in both chaos realms. And unknowingly, time started passing by for him. It’s like he was watching a time-lapse video all of a sudden, and he was so captivated by it that he didn’t even guess what was actually happening.

By the time he woke up, he cursed his carelessness.

That said, the work the people were doing for both of those chaos realms was indeed satisfying to watch.

There are a lot of people in there now. Not enough to truly fill out each chaos realm, humans couldn’t even completely occupy the Heavenly Star Chaos Realm after so much time making it their home, so how could they do so with the short amount of time they had on the other chaos realms?

Still, watching their work move was very satisfying to see.

Looking at it closely, almost everybody goes to work with excitement and anticipation and passionately. Most of them didn’t mind going down and dirtying their hands to complete the necessary work. They didn’t even mind that they’ve essentially turned their back on life evolution the moment they arrived here since, to them, this takes priority.

There was a lot of infrastructure and buildings all over the chaos realms now, and every single one of them was necessary. And yes, this includes the local pubs and playgrounds for the colonists to decompress. Everything that has been built there had its purpose and is equally important as the rest.

This kept the efficiency of the colonists high and stable. Sure, some of the passion and eagerness has faded after centuries of working here, but the efficiency and overall quality of their work never dropped. Everybody knew what was at stake and was constantly reminded of their responsibilities to maintain this kind of energy and efficiency.

Because of this, slowly but surely, both chaos realms now have a touch of human influence in them. The longer this goes on, the more these places look and feel familiar and homely to humans.

Of course, their progress was being shared with the rest of the civilization. Humans who remained at the Heavenly Star Chaos Realm will periodically receive development news about these two chaos realms.

News outlets and social media platforms dedicate a specific time slot and schedule to report the updates. A lot of people are making content about it, either to criticize or to simply wonder about the changes that are happening very quickly in both chaos realms.

Some people even made exclusive channels or social media accounts just to highlight and discuss this.

Because of these, the colonization efforts had long since become a staple trend in every medium available. So long as one wasn’t living under a rock, they would, more or less, know what was going on.

To say that everybody was invested in this would be an understatement.

Hell, there were already multiple crowd-funded petition-signed tours for both chaos realms even before the colonization was done! A lot of people wanted to visit the colonies, surely for propaganda and their own interests.

The council didn’t ignore this. They couldn’t even if they wanted to given how much of a big deal the colonization efforts were, but they also didn’t approve of it either.

Whenever the topic rises, someone in the human council staff will come forward and say that both chaos realms can’t receive additional people in fear of destabilizing their work efficiency. What the colonists do in both chaos realms is important and sensitive. Any disruptions wouldn’t be tolerated by the council, so as much as they want to, unless the council approves of it first, there won’t be any visits or tours that will be happening.

And while that certainly upsets that many people who are hoping to go to those places, they could only simmer in their disappointment because the council won’t bend the rules for them. They won’t compromise the efforts of the colonists just to entertain a couple of people.

Obviously, there are some people who are unsatisfied with their rejection. These people aren’t used to being denied what they wanted to happen, and they’re the type of people who wouldn’t stop until they get what they want, even if it offends other people.

As such, some of these people tried to ‘sneak out’ of the Heavenly Star to check out either the Crimson Womb Chaos Realm or the Black Pegasus Chaos Realm.

Well, that’s simply a bad idea…

Because of their stupidity and forcefulness, their actions were met by the callous palms of the Space Marines, who are ‘very insistent’ that they stay put, especially if they don’t want this to be escalated.

They were ‘kindly’ reminded why it was a bad idea to oppose the will of the Human Council and why, even with the demon race and the Horde around, humanity still became the final victor. They would hate for the same means to be aimed at their own people.

If there were still people who were unconvinced after that. Somebody from the staff of the human council will be sent to personally give them ‘The Talk’—which was basically an ultimatum.

That ends the arguments once and for all. Because at that point, they only have two choices: stop or be erased. There’s no middlepoint, no negotiations. Just options.

Inevitably, some people disappeared. Some people knew about it, but nobody dared to call out the human council’s actions. Nobody would dare because the council was never afraid of anybody. Especially not when they have the full support of two Primal Origin Lifeforms.

So, as much as some people were eagerly anticipating the time when both chaos realms become open to the public, they didn’t dare to make too much trouble for the incredibly tolerant Human Council.

It was them, after all, who are in charge of this whole project.

Recently, Cedric had sensed the barrier of the Primal Origin Lifeform Realm very intimately, which was a sign that his imminent breakthrough was near.

Actually, if Cedric just made a slight effort to push, he would instantly break this barrier and immediately undergo the trials needed to become a Primal Origin Lifeform.

And with his foundations, achieving that realm would be as easy as eating or drinking. There wouldn’t be any struggle at all. He’s not afraid of the Supreme Will’s tests. He could shatter each one with his sheer raw strength, and he’d get what he wanted one way or another.

He had long reached more than sufficient qualifications to stand at the absolute peak of this world.

But even if he did, Cedric didn’t do so.

He forcibly postponed his breakthrough, compressing his foundations beyond human comprehension, and kept delaying what was inevitable.

Why? Because he didn’t want to yet.

He’s delaying it because what he wants is to synchronize his final breakthrough with him comprehending the Primordial Chaos Law.

Cedric wants to reach the absolute peak in one fell swoop. He had a feeling that if he didn’t do it this way, he would encounter some complications that would prevent him from truly reaching the true peak of the Primitive Universe.

And since he’s already this close, there’s just no way that he’d be careless. He’d long since learned how to trust his instincts, especially at his current level; that’s why he’s postponing his imminent breakthrough.

He’d even go as far as to seal his own inner world and origin energy just to postpone it.

Fortunately, compressing his origin energy was enough for now.

But whether this would be sufficient till the end was still unknown. Because each time he comprehends a new Origin Law, he’d receive blessings that would take him closer and even closer to the barrier of that final realm.

That barrier already feels like a thin film to him, so any carelessness might be enough to push him to the other side, which will force him to confront something he doesn’t want to for now.

So, for the foreseeable future, he’d have to be especially wary of his own progress.

He would keep compressing his origin energy again and again until he creates more space for more. It wasn’t really hard for him. And if anybody could see the size and quality of his inner world right now, they’d probably be shocked for lifetimes, simply because Cedric’s foundations were completely out of this world.

Even if one were to combine the size and quality of the five Human Sovereigns together, the product would still lose out in both quality and quantity to what Cedric has.

The difference was just that massive. And this kind of gap was basically impossible to breach even if the sovereigns were to dedicate all their time and effort to it.

But yes, everything’s going really well. It’s all plain and boring, but to Cedric? This is how it should be.

The time for him to reach the absolute peak comes closer. And even he was finding it a little hard to remain calm about it.
