Endless Extraction in a Game-Like World

Chapter 479: Putting World Embryo into Chaos Analysis

  • Next Chapter

Caelus had a particular reason for keeping the final World Embryo.

Although selling it would undoubtedly earn him a considerable amount of Primordial Credits, he was far more interested in discovering whether Chaos Analysis could uncover the secrets behind its creation.

After all, Chaos Analysis was capable of studying objects, abilities, and even the fundamental principles behind various powers.

If he could understand how a World Embryo was formed, there was a possibility he could eventually reproduce one himself.

And if that worked, perhaps he could even discover a method to improve its grade.

The potential benefits were simply too great to ignore.

With that thought in mind, Caelus opened his system interface to check the progress of his ongoing research.

[Chaos Analysis – Mystic Code Research: 90%.]

“Ninety percent already?”

Caelus hadn’t expected the progress to increase so quickly.

He had been researching Mystic Codes for some time, but recently, his attention had been occupied by the various authorities he possessed.

Those authorities existed on a level above ordinary Mystic Codes. Perhaps studying and using them had indirectly accelerated his understanding of the lower-level powers.

Whatever the reason, it was good news.

At this rate, his research would soon be completed, and he was eager to discover what Chaos Analysis would uncover.

However, that could wait.

For now, he had another subject to investigate.

[Talent Activated: Chaos Analysis.]

[Analysis Subject Added: High-Grade World Embryo.]

[Analysis in progress.]

After confirming that the analysis had begun, Caelus closed the interface.

The golden World Embryo remained safely stored within his pocket dimension, allowing Chaos Analysis to continue examining it.

“Hubby, what are you smiling about?”

Sylvia had noticed his expression while they were waiting near the entrance.

“Nothing much. I’ve just started analyzing the World Embryo with Chaos Analysis.”

“I’m curious about how these things are created. If Chaos Analysis can figure that out, I might eventually be able to make them myself.”

Sylvia immediately understood what he was planning.

“Wouldn’t that mean you could create as many World Embryos as you wanted?”

“Possibly. I can’t guarantee anything yet, but it’s worth investigating.”

“Hehe, then keeping one is definitely the right choice. Besides, seven High-Grade World Embryos should already earn us plenty of Credits.”

“That’s what I’m hoping.”

By the time they finished talking, Bertram had completed the initial arrangements with the guards.

One of the attendants recognized him immediately and approached with a respectful expression.

“Lord Bertram, welcome. I wasn’t informed that you would be attending today’s auction. Will these guests be accompanying you?”

“Yes, they’re with me. However, before we enter the auction hall, I’d like to arrange for several items to be added to today’s auction.”

“Of course, my lord. Please follow me.”

The attendant guided them through the entrance and into an elegantly furnished reception room.

A middle-aged man was seated behind a large desk, examining several documents. Upon seeing Bertram enter, he immediately stood up to greet him.

After exchanging a few pleasantries, Bertram explained why they had come.

“My friend here would like to auction seven High-Grade World Embryos.”

The middle-aged man was about to respond when the number finally registered.

“Seven High-Grade World Embryos?”

“That’s correct. We’d like to have them appraised and included in today’s auction.”

“Please forgive my surprise, Lord Bertram. It’s simply unusual for someone to bring so many High-Grade World Embryos at once.”

“I understand. Can you arrange the appraisal?”

“Certainly! I’ll summon one of our senior appraisers immediately.”

While the man contacted the appraiser, Caelus began removing the seven golden spheres from his pocket dimension.

He placed them on the desk one after another, filling the room with a soft golden glow.

Freya watched the scene with considerable amusement.

“Are people always going to act this surprised whenever they see our World Embryos?”

Sylvia chuckled.

“Probably. High-Grade World Embryos seem to be much rarer than we thought.”

“Then I hope they pay us a lot of money.”

“That’s the idea, Freya.”

It wasn’t long before the appraiser arrived.

He was an elderly man carrying a transparent crystal plate engraved with numerous intricate symbols.

After greeting Bertram, he carefully placed the first World Embryo above the plate and activated the formation within it.

Golden symbols immediately appeared across the crystal surface.

The appraiser examined the miniature landmass inside the embryo before recording several measurements.

He repeated the process with the remaining six embryos, taking his time to ensure that each one was properly evaluated.

Caelus observed the entire procedure without interfering.

Although he trusted Bertram, he still wanted to make sure there were no problems with the appraisal.

Once all seven World Embryos had been verified, the appraiser confirmed their quality and arranged for them to be transferred into secure storage cases.

Bertram then handled the necessary paperwork.

“Everything is ready. You just need to confirm the consignment agreement.”

Caelus accepted the document and examined its contents before signing.

With that settled, there was nothing left to do except wait for the auction to begin.

An attendant soon escorted the group to a private room on the upper floor.

The room was spacious and comfortably furnished, with a large window overlooking the entire auction hall.

Below them, hundreds of seats surrounded a raised platform where the auction items would be presented.

Numerous private rooms occupied the upper levels, allowing influential guests to participate without revealing their identities.

Some of these rooms were already occupied.

Even from where he sat, Caelus could sense several powerful auras scattered throughout the building.

It seemed Bertram hadn’t been exaggerating when he said the auction would attract important figures.

“Quite a gathering they’ve got here.”

“That’s to be expected,” Bertram replied. “Exclusive auctions hosted by the Adler imperial family rarely disappoint.”

Caelus made himself comfortable beside Sylvia.

He had no intention of attracting unnecessary attention today.

As long as his World Embryos sold for a good price, he would consider the trip a success.

However, while Caelus and the others waited for the auction to begin, an entirely different conversation was taking place on the highest floor of the building.

Inside a private chamber sealed off from the outside world, two of the most powerful figures in the Primordial World were seated across from each other.

One was Aron, the King of the Stellar Devils.

The other was God Emperor Leopold Adler, ruler of the Northern Star Region.

Aron wore a black coat decorated with red stars along its collar. Two dark horns curved backward above his ears, and despite his relaxed posture, there was an unmistakable seriousness in his expression.

Leopold, meanwhile, wore elegant white robes beneath a golden mantle. An eagle crest decorated his chest, while a narrow crown rested upon his silver hair.

Neither had brought any attendants.

The meeting was clearly intended to remain private.

“Leopold, I’ll get straight to the point. Something terrible is approaching, and if we don’t prepare for it, the entire Primordial World could be destroyed.”

Leopold had been enjoying his tea, but Aron’s words made him set down his cup.

“That’s quite a claim. What makes you so certain?”

“Because I’ve seen it.”

“You’ve seen the future?”

“Something like that. You know I wouldn’t come all the way here just to frighten you with an ordinary prediction.”

Leopold studied Aron for several moments.

Although their factions had never maintained friendly relations, he knew the Devil King well enough to understand that he wasn’t someone who made such claims without reason.

“Suppose I believe you. What exactly do you expect me to do?”

Aron smiled.

“Join forces with me.”

“No.”

The rejection came so quickly that Aron almost laughed.

“Come on, Leopold. You haven’t even heard what I’m proposing.”

“I don’t need to. The Adler imperial family has no intention of forming an alliance with the Stellar Devils.”

“You’re being unreasonable. I’m not asking you to hand over your territory or swear loyalty to me. I’m talking about cooperating against a threat that could destroy both our factions.”

“And I am telling you that such cooperation is impossible.”

Aron had expected resistance, but Leopold’s stubbornness was beginning to irritate him.

“Listen, the Stellar Devils control the south, and your family controls the north. If we combine our resources, we can begin preparing before the threat arrives. Surely you can understand how valuable that would be.”

“The Adler family is perfectly capable of making its own preparations.”

“Really? And how exactly do you intend to prepare when you don’t even know what’s coming?”

That question made Leopold narrow his eyes.

“Is that why you came here? To use this supposed disaster as an excuse to force an alliance?”

“Force an alliance? Leopold, do you even hear yourself? I came here because I thought you were intelligent enough to understand the situation.”

The atmosphere inside the chamber immediately grew heavier.

Leopold’s expression darkened, and a terrifying pressure began spreading from his body.

“Watch your words, Aron.”

“Then stop acting like a fool and listen to what I’m saying.”

For a moment, neither spoke.

The pressure in the room continued increasing, but Aron remained seated without the slightest sign of discomfort.

He was a God Emperor-level existence himself. Leopold’s aura was hardly enough to intimidate him.

Eventually, Aron spoke again.

“Look, I understand that our factions have their differences. You call yourselves gods, and we are devils. But at the end of the day, we’re all Primordials. Our essence is same.”
