Endless Extraction in a Game-Like World

Chapter 478: World Cell and The Way Of Getting Stronger

  • Next Chapter

Caelus examined the World Cells in his hand once more. They were far more active than before, yet despite the tremendous changes his body had undergone, most of the space inside them remained empty.

It was a strange feeling. His physical strength had increased considerably after merging with the World Embryo, but now that he could sense the World Cells throughout his body, he realized just how little energy they actually contained.

“Brother Bertram, is this normal? My World Cells are active, but they barely contain any energy.”

“Of course it’s normal.” Bertram smiled as he finished lowering the barriers around the platforms. “You’ve only just entered the Early Primordial stage. Forming your World Cells is merely the beginning. Now comes the process of filling them with energy.”

“And how exactly do I do that?”

“It’s quite simple in theory. Absorb the surrounding energy through your Primordial Core, then circulate it throughout your body. Your World Cells will gradually absorb and store that energy.”

Caelus decided to try it immediately.

While the others stepped down from their platforms, he remained seated and began drawing the surrounding energy into his Primordial Core.

The process was surprisingly smooth. Once the energy entered his core, he directed it toward his right hand, where the World Cells immediately began absorbing it.

He could clearly sense the energy spreading through them. Although the amount was insignificant compared to their capacity, the hollow sensation in his fingers gradually weakened.

“So I just need to keep doing this?”

“That’s right. However, don’t expect to finish anytime soon. You’re going to need an enormous amount of energy to nourish your entire body.”

“I figured as much.”

“Also, don’t make the mistake of concentrating everything in your hands. Your feet, legs, arms, torso, and head all contain World Cells. Even your bones, organs, blood, and skin need to be nourished. Every part of your body contributes to your development as a Primordial.”

Hearing that, Caelus finally understood why the quality of a World Embryo was so important.

The embryo determined the foundation of his World Cells, but obtaining that foundation was only the first step. From here onward, he would have to accumulate energy and gradually strengthen every part of his body.

“This process is part of your true evolution as a Primordial,” Bertram explained. “Once your World Cells have developed sufficiently, you’ll eventually reach the Middle Primordial stage. Of course, that’s when another stage of your evolution begins.”

Caelus found himself growing increasingly interested.

He had only just entered the Primordial Realm, yet there was already so much room for improvement. More importantly, he could clearly feel the difference between his previous strength and what his body was now capable of achieving.

“There’s something else you should understand,” Bertram added. “Every single point of Power possessed by a Primordial represents enough destructive force to destroy an entire planet in the Primordial World.”

“An entire planet?”

“Yes. And don’t compare the planets here to those in the lower worlds. The laws governing this world are far stronger. Even destroying a small planet here would require an extraordinary amount of power.”

Caelus was genuinely surprised.

He had already experienced how much stronger the laws of the Primordial World were. Even with his current abilities, affecting the surroundings was far more difficult than it had been in his home universe.

If a single point of Power could destroy a planet under these conditions, then the ten additional points he gained with every level were far more valuable than he had initially imagined.

“Hubby, we should practice this properly once we return.”

Sylvia had joined him and was already attempting to circulate energy into the World Cells in her palm.

“Definitely. I’d rather learn how to control the process now than waste energy later.”

With that decided, Caelus finally stood up and joined the others.

As they prepared to leave, Bertram brought up another matter.

“By the way, you mentioned wanting to auction the remaining World Embryos, didn’t you?”

“That’s right. Do you know somewhere we can sell them?”

“Naturally. In fact, there’s an auction taking place today. If we hurry, I can arrange for your embryos to be included. You should be able to earn a considerable amount of Primordial Credits.”

“Primordial Credits? Is that the currency here?”

“Yes. You’ll need them for almost everything in the Primordial World. More importantly, establishing a faction under the Akashic Records also requires Credits.”

That immediately caught Caelus’s interest.

He had already established the Chaos Faction in his home universe, but expanding its influence into the Primordial World was one of his main objectives.

If he wanted to recruit powerful Primordials and build a proper foundation here, having sufficient resources would be essential.

“Then we should definitely visit this auction. Hopefully, those embryos will fetch a good price.”

“Considering their quality, I doubt you’ll be disappointed.”

With their destination decided, the group left the training chamber and made their way out of the hotel.

The streets outside were as lively as ever. Massive buildings stretched into the distance, with elevated bridges connecting some of their upper floors. Transportation gates stood at various intersections, allowing people to travel between different parts of the city.

Caelus walked alongside Bertram while Sylvia held his hand. Freya and Himmel followed nearby, occasionally looking around at the unfamiliar sights.

As they continued toward the auction house, Caelus remembered something he had been meaning to ask.

“Brother Bertram, who actually rules the Primordial World? Is there some kind of supreme ruler?”

“Not exactly. The Primordial World is far too vast for a single faction to govern. Instead, its major territories are divided among several powerful forces.”

Bertram directed his attention toward a large map displayed above a nearby transportation gate.

“Take the four major Star Regions, for example. The Southern Star Region belongs to the Stellar Devils, while the Northern Star Region is controlled by the Adler imperial family.”

“Adler? Isn’t that Nico’s family?”

“Indeed. Although Nico is only one of their younger members, his family is among the strongest powers in the Primordial World. Their current ruler is God Emperor Leopold Adler.”

Caelus recalled how Nico had openly displayed his High-Grade World Embryo back at the Embryo Zone.

He had already suspected the man possessed an extraordinary background, but he hadn’t expected his family to control an entire Star Region.

“What about the other two regions?”

“The Eastern Star Region is governed by the Celestial Court, while the Western Star Region belongs to the Eternal Forge. These four powers have existed for an extremely long time, and each possesses a terrifying foundation.”

Bertram continued explaining as they walked.

“Several organizations you encountered at the Embryo Zone are actually subordinate to these powers. The Nine Towers serve the Celestial Court, while the Dawn Legion operates under the Adler imperial family.”

“Oh? So those three idiots I dealt with were backed by the Celestial Court?”

“That’s correct. However, you shouldn’t judge the Celestial Court based on those three. They’re insignificant compared to the true experts of their faction.”

Caelus understood what Bertram was getting at.

He had easily overwhelmed those three men, but that didn’t mean he could afford to underestimate the power supporting them.

“Some of the oldest Primordials within these factions have existed since the birth of this world,” Bertram continued. “Their strength is on an entirely different level from the people you’ve encountered so far.”

“I understand. I’ll keep that in mind.”

Although Caelus wasn’t particularly afraid of offending powerful factions, he wasn’t foolish enough to provoke enemies he knew nothing about.

For now, understanding the Primordial World and increasing his strength were far more important.

Their conversation continued until they arrived at a spacious courtyard crowded with visitors.

At the far end stood an enormous circular building constructed from white stone. A magnificent golden eagle was displayed above its entrance, immediately distinguishing it from the surrounding establishments.

Several guards stood near the entrance, inspecting invitations while attendants escorted distinguished guests inside.

Judging from the clothing and emblems worn by the visitors, representatives from numerous powerful factions had gathered here.

“This is the auction house operated by the Adler imperial family,” Bertram explained. “Today’s event is an exclusive auction, which means most of the participants come from influential backgrounds.”

“No wonder there are so many people.”

“Exactly. The younger generations of these factions are constantly searching for high-quality World Embryos, and their elders are more than willing to spend Credits on them. That’s why I suggested bringing your embryos here.”

Caelus could already imagine the competition.

If the auction attracted enough wealthy buyers, seven High-Grade World Embryos might sell for an extraordinary amount.

However, just as they were approaching the entrance, another thought occurred to him.

He currently possessed eight World Embryos.

Selling all eight would certainly earn him more Credits, but considering the abilities he possessed, keeping one might prove far more valuable in the long run.

“Brother Bertram, there’s something I want to change about the auction.”

“What is it?”

“I’ve decided to sell only seven World Embryos.”

“Seven? I thought you had eight after using four.”

“I do, but I’ve decided to keep the last one for myself.”
