Endless Extraction in a Game-Like World

Chapter 468: Several Months And A Fairy

  • Next Chapter

Several months passed while Caelus and his three companions, Sylvia, Hollow King, and Freya traveled through the currents between universes. Even with the power to cross infinity, reaching the Primordial World took far longer than he had expected.

They passed other universes along the way and could sometimes see the galaxies inside them. Between those universes they followed the currents through long stretches of empty space.

The Axiom Origin’s old connection to the Primordial World guided Caelus. Whenever the current changed direction, he checked that connection and adjusted their route.

He didn’t need ordinary coordinates to find the Primordial World and he could still sense the Axiom universe behind them.

Speaking of which, Caelus had also sealed the Axiom universe with Origin Lock before leaving. He had hidden the entire universe from outside view, so outsiders could neither see it nor enter.

Even a Primordial would need strength equal to the Axiom Origin construct to break that seal. His family and friends could continue training without being attacked by Primordials from other universes.

Caelus already had his Origin and Multiversal Travel authorities, but he wanted to obtain more and absorb their power. He also needed to learn how to use Endless Extraction and the Axiom Origin properly.

The Axiom Origin had told him to grow stronger and build an army in the Primordial World. After spending months traveling there, he was eager to see what it could offer them.

They finally reached the silver barrier surrounding the Primordial World. Caelus stopped in front of it and tried to sense how far the world extended beyond it.

His eyes widened when he failed to find its far boundary. Even with his Primordial senses he couldn’t measure the size of the world they were about to enter.

Sylvia joined him while the Hollow King and Freya waited nearby. She pressed her palm against the barrier and then tested it with a punch.

BOOM!

The barrier shook under her fist but remained intact. Sylvia tried pressing through it again and found that she still couldn’t move it.

"Hubby, how are we getting through this? My strength isn’t enough to break it."

"Don’t worry, brute force won’t open this barrier. I can make a passage through it with Origin Lock."

[Skill Activated: Origin Lock.]

Caelus placed his hand against the barrier and removed the section directly in front of him. A narrow opening appeared and he widened it until everyone could pass through.

Freya entered beside Sylvia with the Hollow King following them. Caelus went through last and closed the passage behind them.

A system panel from the Akashic Records immediately appeared before him.

[Welcome to the Primordial World.]

[Rank: Primordial - Early]

[Level: 1]

His companions received the same notices. Caelus frowned at the Early Primordial classification and checked it again.

He had known there would be stronger Primordials here, but their whole group was still at the beginning of those ranks. They needed far more strength to face the Heavenly Lord and the third being.

"The Akashic Records are here in the Primordial World."

Freya looked from her system panel to the land below them. The Hollow King also turned toward Caelus when he heard that.

"The Akashic Records control powers across the multiverse from here?"

"I learned that from the Axiom Origin’s memories. It helped create the Akashic Records, but I don’t know who worked with it or how they gave the Records authority across the multiverse."

Caelus tried to bend the space beside his hand and immediately met resistance. He could still use his power, but moving space here took much more effort than it did back home.

The Primordial World was far stronger than an ordinary universe and he couldn’t release his full strength here. Their group wouldn’t be able to destroy it even if they attacked together.

Below them mountain ranges divided forests from wide plains covered with cities. Rivers ran past the cities and emptied into a sea farther south.

Floating islands hung above the mainland with buildings and ports along their edges. Ships traveled between those ports while several suns lit the land below.

Caelus extended his perception toward the nearest city and was surprised by how many Primordials lived there. Several were stronger than him, yet gods and Origin Lords walked along the same streets.

Near one of the ports a group of Origin Lords unloaded crates from a ship. A Primordial walked past them to enter a shop and none of the workers even stopped what they were doing.

Perhaps living in the Primordial World made it easier to reach that rank. Caelus could turn others into Primordials, so the Akashic Records might be able to help the people here too.

Outside this world the Hollow King had failed to gain acknowledgment despite all his efforts. Why had the Akashic Records refused him when so many people here had become Primordials?

As they descended toward the city, a silver spaceship flew around a floating island and came straight at them. It was traveling far too fast to stop in time.

"Move to the side!"

Caelus pulled Sylvia with him while the Hollow King and Freya moved out of the ship’s path. The ship swept past so close that its wake tugged at his clothes before it tilted sharply and came to a stop.

A door opened in its side and an elderly fairy hurried out. He had a round belly beneath a green coat and two pairs of clear wings fluttering behind his shoulders.

"I’m terribly sorry, friends! I didn’t mean to come so close to you."

Caelus checked that everyone was unharmed and let go of Sylvia’s arm.

"We’re fine, so don’t worry about it. You didn’t hit anyone."

"But I could have hurt you, and if the Primordial Council hears about this I’ll be finished." The fairy wiped his forehead with a cloth.

"Let me buy you all a meal and show you around Crossroads Plaza. I only want to make up for the trouble I’ve caused."

"Hm?" Caelus’s expression turned suspicious when he heard this but he quickly hid this.

Caelus knew the fairy was lying about only wanting to apologize. He didn’t know what else the man wanted, so he decided to have Sylvia check his intentions.
