Endless Extraction in a Game-Like World
Chapter 413: The truth about the Enders War and the end of time
Caelus and Sylvia immediately froze at the words transmitting from the matrix.
The First SSS-Rank Talent?
Until this moment, Caelus had believed himself to be the only existence who possessed an SSS-Rank Ability. Now, standing before them was the first being who had ever possessed one.
His name was Adam.
The realization connected several dots in Caelus’s mind. His Ender powers had acted strangely when he entered this place, and now it made sense. If Adam was the world’s first SSS-Rank Talent user, then perhaps the reaction was inevitable.
Adam’s voice continued echoing through the chamber.
"I left this message behind because this world is the Star King World."
The matrix pulsed with light as the recording played.
"During the ancient ender war, the Star King Ja Kun and his wife, the Star Queen La Min, sacrificed themselves to protect millions of beings. The War of the Enders had devastated this region, and countless existences that was unable to reach the Axiom Rank were simply erased from the conflict."
Caelus listened carefully.
"At that time, the boundary between the God Domain and the Tier 2 World had been far weaker than it is now. The aftermath of the war spread throughout the lower realms."
Adam’s tone shifted slightly.
"Since you have reached this place, you must possess some connection to the Enders."
Then came the revelation that immediately changed their understanding of history.
"The War of the Enders... is not what you think it is."
Caelus and Sylvia immediately became confused when he said that.
Not what they thought it was?
What did that mean?
Before they could process the statement, the matrix began violently glitching. Adam’s voice became distorted, with sections of his message breaking apart and disappearing.
"The war... Enders... control..."
Caelus frowned at the unstable transmission. Why would a message left behind by an existence like Adam malfunction? Has it been sitting here for so long that it has been deteriorating?
Then another sentence came through. This time, it was much more clearer than before.
"The gods... even they are pawns."
Caelus and Sylvia exchanged a confused glance.
Adam attempted to continue, but entire portions of his words were lost to interference.
"The... was..."
"...control..."
"...origin..."
Then, through the distortion, one phrase came through clearly.
"Heavenly Faction."
Caelus’s expression changed.
Sylvia also became serious.
Adam kept on speaking, but his words became increasingly fragmented. They could only catch individual terms scattered throughout the broken transmission.
"Gods... Axiom... Origin... Heavenly... Supreme One... My other half... Abyss... Heavenly... Abyss... It’s there.
The matrix glitched violently again.
Then another word appeared.
"Earth... there...."
The message was clearly trying to tell them something, but whatever mechanism preserved Adam’s recording was no longer capable of transmitting the complete information.
But he also understood that there was some connection to the heavenly faction, the abyss and the earth.
Finally, Adam’s voice became clear one last time.
"I will be at the End of Time."
Caelus’s expression stiffened at his words.
The End of Time?
Once again, that phrase appeared.
It was almost absurd how often the strongest and strangest beings they encountered seemed to possess some connection to time. Adam supposedly existed at the End of Time, while his predecessor, the first ender of origin had displayed an obsession with breaching the barrier of time.
What exactly was waiting there?
Before Caelus could think further, Adam revealed one final piece of information.
"I almost forgot to mention it. The inheritance of the Star King and Star Queen is here."
"They used up almost all of their powers to stop the war from spreading here by separating the tier 2 world and the God Domain and I took their remaining powers and sealed it here."
"Use it. Become stronger."
The transmission glitched again but it wasn’t as bad as before.
"The End Times have already arrived. All we can do is hold back the End of Time and wait until... arrives."
"The fact that the ruin I left behind in the Origin Expanse has manifested means the time I set has arrived."
Then his voice became clear.
"Beware. The Heavenly Faction may already be moving."
"And be careful of the Hollow Faction."
"The Hollow King is an existence that merged with the..... aspect and became an undying entity."
"Only the Axiom.... can stand against him."
"If you can bring him to light, he will be your greatest ally."
"Hero Himmel is still somewhere within him."
The matrix suddenly shut down.
Its surface split apart, and the entire structure disintegrated into two enormous sources of light.
Silence filled the chamber.
Caelus and Sylvia stared at the two lights.
They had received far more information than before, yet somehow they had more questions than answers. Adam had confirmed that the War of the Enders was hiding something enormous, that the Heavenly Faction was deeply involved, that even the gods might be pawns, and that the Hollow King had become something close to immortal and he also seemed to know about his backstory as the Hero Himmel?
Most importantly, Adam had repeatedly mentioned Earth and the Abyss.
Caelus had no idea what either connection meant.
He eventually turned toward Sylvia.
"Whatever this means, we need to take the inheritance first. There are other dangerous people inside this ruin."
Sylvia immediately agreed.
The two approached the divided inheritance.
However, before they could touch it, the chamber’s entrance suddenly opened.
The Hollow Faction had arrived.
Hollow General Dunstan stepped into the chamber with his subordinates. The moment he saw Caelus and Sylvia, he immediately raised his weapon.
"Hands where I can see them. Make one wrong move and I’ll kill both of you."
Before Caelus could respond, another group entered behind them.
It was the Celestial Goose representatives of the Heavenly Faction.
Their leader looked toward Dunstan with clear irritation.
"Hollow General Dunstan. The inheritance clearly belongs to the Heavenly Faction. Do you truly intend to oppose us?"
Dunstan’s expression darkened.
"Do you think the Heavenly Faction owns everything it sees?"
The Celestial Goose scoffed.
"We own everything that matters."
"Then come take it, bird."
The two factions immediately began arguing over who had the right to claim the inheritance.
Caelus and Sylvia quietly watched them.
Both sides possessed multiple Origin Lords, with their strongest individuals reaching around Level 5. Under normal circumstances, they would not have enough information to confidently determine how dangerous an entire group at this level might be.
But they had just inherited the power of the Star King and Star Queen.
Sylvia then glanced at Caelus as they continued arguing and spoke.
"While they’re arguing, let’s take it for ourselves, hubby."
Caelus smiled hearing this.
"Good idea."
Without hesitation, they simultaneously moved toward the two sources of light.
The moment their hands touched the inheritance, the entire chamber erupted.
BOOM!
Star energy exploded outward like a miniature galaxy.
A colossal wave of stellar force pushed through the chamber, forcing Dunstan and the Celestial Goose leader backward. The inheritance began flowing directly into Caelus and Sylvia, resonating with the Star King and Star Queen Talents already present within their souls.
The Heavenly Faction immediately realized what was happening.
"They dared?!"
"Kill them!"
The Hollow General’s shadow violently expanded. Several Darkspawns emerged from it and charged toward Caelus and Sylvia.
They never reached them.
The star energy surrounding the two suddenly condensed.
CRASH!
The Darkspawns were crushed into the ground by an overwhelming gravitational-like pressure before they could even take another step.
The Celestial Goose leader’s expression changed.
He immediately pulled out a communication tablet.
"I’m calling for reinforcements from the God Domain. This inheritance is a top priority. We cannot allow them to obtain it."
He activated the tablet.
Nothing happened.
He tried again.
Still nothing.
The interference surrounding the ruin completely prevented communication with the outside world.
