Endless Extraction in a Game-Like World
Chapter 406: Who Gave You The Permission to Attack them?
Hearing this, Caelus frowned.
He looked at Sylvia, then at the Ender of Death, who had completely stopped resisting and appeared as though she had already given up on everything.
After a moment of hesitation, Caelus finally activated Prime Mind Manipulation.
The moment he entered Sylvia’s mind, he began witnessing everything she had experienced inside the Ender of Death’s memories.
He saw Sylvia witnessing the memories of Sylvie, the girl who eventually became the Ender of Death. As the memories unfolded, he saw the abuse, the humiliation, the rejection, and the loneliness that had shaped her. He saw how the people around her had repeatedly treated her as though she had no value.
Even after awakening her Ender of Death powers, the situation had only become worse because people feared her and treated her as something monstrous.
Yet what affected Caelus most was that Sylvie had never truly become the monster everyone expected her to be. She had done terrible things, but she was not someone who simply killed innocent people for pleasure. Instead, her mind had gradually become distorted by years of suffering, rejection, and isolation until she could no longer understand what it meant to be loved.
Then, Caelus reached the part where Sylvia finally approached Sylvie.
Immediately, Sylvie became defensive.
"Stay away."
Her voice was quiet but hostile.
"I don’t want your pity."
Hearing this, Sylvia did not stop.
"It’s not pity."
With that, she slowly approached her and wrapped her arms around Sylvie.
Sylvie froze completely.
Her body became stiff because she had no idea how to react. After spending so long being treated cruelly, genuine affection felt almost foreign to her.
Seeing her reaction, Sylvia gently smiled.
"I’m sure you’ve never been hugged like this, Sylvie."
Sylvie remained silent for several seconds. Her expression trembled slightly before she finally whispered,
"No."
Hearing this, Sylvia smiled.
"That’s good. Now I can shower you with these hugs more often."
Immediately after, she gently patted Sylvie’s head.
"You don’t have to carry all that pain anymore."
Hearing this, Sylvie’s eyes began trembling. She tried to look away, clearly uncomfortable with the kindness she was receiving because she did not know whether she could trust it.
Even so, Sylvia continued patting her head.
"You don’t have to suffer alone anymore."
Just then, her eyes suddenly began glowing with multicolored light.
At the same time, Sylvie’s Ender of Death power began flowing out of her body and into Sylvia. Seeing this, Sylvie immediately became terrified and tried to resist.
"Wait... what are you doing?"
But despite her resistance, the power continued leaving her.
Then, a system notification appeared.
[Ding!]
[You’ve become the Vampire Progenitor.]
Seeing the notification, Sylvie stared at it in complete disbelief.
Meanwhile, Sylvia continued holding her.
"I will make sure that you are treated with love in this world."
She gently smiled.
"You no longer have to suffer alone."
Hearing this, Sylvie could not understand what was happening. Her entire existence had been built around the belief that nobody would ever genuinely care about her. Yet Sylvia was standing in front of her, knowing everything she had done and still choosing to embrace her.
Her voice began trembling.
"B-But why?"
She looked at Sylvia with tears forming in her eyes.
"I kidnapped you... I even wanted to kill you."
Hearing this, Sylvia simply chuckled softly.
"I know why you did that."
As she said this, she continued patting Sylvie’s head.
Those words finally broke something inside Sylvie.
She began crying.
Immediately after, the memories of her childhood abuse returned one after another. The people who hurt her. The people who abandoned her. The loneliness. The hatred. The years of slowly losing herself until death seemed like the only escape.
Eventually, Sylvie looked at Sylvia through her tears.
"I just want to die."
Hearing this, Sylvia shook her head.
"How can that be?"
Sylvie looked confused.
"You cannot die."
The moment Sylvia said those words, Caelus appeared within the memory.
Immediately afterward, the memory ended.
Caelus returned to reality, his eyes wide as he stared at Sylvia.
"You..."
Hearing this, Sylvia nodded.
"Yeah."
She looked toward him.
"Now, I am the Ender of Death."
Then, she spoke directly into his mind.
"I don’t know if it was because I was the first Ender of Death, but during that moment, the powers were automatically transferred to me."
Hearing this, Caelus was stunned by the revelation.
Before he could say anything, Sylvie’s voice interrupted him again.
"Kill me, Caelus."
Caelus looked toward her.
But this time, his anger was gone.
He sighed.
"It’s not that deep."
His tone was almost speechless.
"I forgive you. Now come with me. You look like you need a shower."
Hearing this, Sylvie froze.
For several seconds, she simply stared at Caelus as though she could not comprehend what he had just said.
Then, she suddenly broke down crying again, this time even harder.
"Why?"
She wiped at her tears but could not stop them.
"Why are both of you so kind? Why? Just why?"
Hearing this, Caelus sighed.
By now, he understood that this girl had suffered an extraordinarily terrible childhood. Her actions were wrong, but he could finally understand how she had ended up becoming the person she was.
With that realization, Caelus looked toward Sylvia.
Sylvia gave him a small nod.
She then turned toward Sylvie and gently said,
"Come with big sis. I’ll take you to our place."
Hearing this, Sylvie hesitated.
She looked down at herself before shaking her head.
"I don’t want to go."
Her voice trembled.
"I killed a lot of people here. The factions will come after me. If I go with you, I’ll put both of you in danger."
However, before Sylvia could answer, a furious voice suddenly echoed across the forest.
"You’re goddamn right!"
Just then, everyone looked toward the source.
A powerful figure from the Norse faction appeared in the distance.
"Ender of Death!"
His voice was filled with rage.
"You dare harm the son of the faction overseer of the Norse faction in the Tier 2 world? You can die now!"
Immediately afterward, a massive amount of power erupted from the sky and descended toward Caelus, Sylvia, and Sylvie.
Seeing the incoming attack, Caelus’s expression immediately became grim.
He could tell from the pressure alone that the attacker was at least Overlord rank 5 or higher.
The enormous attack was moments away from striking them.
Then, just before it could land, the leader of the Star King Administration stepped forward.
With his expression turning cold, he looked toward the incoming attack.
"And who gave the Norse Faction permission to attack them?"
