Chapter 1849: Treatment Plan
Chapter 1849: Treatment Plan
Now, Adam had received all the answers to his questions, all except one.
He had come here because Amelia had asked him to save her father. Adam had agreed, largely due to Amelia’s persistence and the Silver Weaver’s advice, which had given him only one terse phrase, but that had been enough.
Adam was in Vador’s inner space and had even entered the artifact space, seeing what the Spirit of Eternal Winter actually looked like.
“Agh…?” Adam blinked several times, looking at Amelia. “With my needle and thread? What does that even mean?”
Seeing his reaction, Romara sighed heavily.
“I told you about this, Amelia. This idea was doomed to fail from the very beginning.”
‘Hmm?’ Adam hummed to himself. ‘So she did discuss this with Romara after all?’
Romara shook her head.
“He’s an excellent fighter, anyone who’s studied his profile knows that, but just as he’s known for his willingness to take risks, everyone knows he has no defensive abilities, let alone healing ones. Even the Lords we know couldn’t help Vador in any way, what could a K4-Phantom possibly do?”
Strange as it may seem, Adam agreed with Romara. He’d told Amelia this right from the start.
“Yes. He’s weaker than those Lords, but none of them had abilities like Adam’s. Moreover, unlike them, Adam has an artifact inside his inner space, just like most Phantoms. He has tools and a connection that others don’t possess.”
Then, she turned to Adam.
“Maybe he lacks the skills, but if that’s the case, we’ll try to resolve this issue quickly.”
“So, do you seriously think I can save your father just because of my abilities?” Adam narrowed his eyes.
“Yes. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have asked for your help. I wouldn’t have wasted my time on this.”
A shadow fell across Adam’s face as he took a step forward.
“What if I fail? What if I do everything in my power, but I still can’t save Vador?”
For a few moments, Amelia was silent.
Then, she clenched her fists tightly and, with a look of determination, replied:
“I’ll regret making the wrong choice for the rest of my life. But I won’t blame you for the failure either.”
“I see.”
Adam nodded as he made his way toward Vador.
He was pleased with Amelia’s answer. They had struck a deal, and he had learned a lot in this house.
‘At least, I have to try.’
Before touching Vador’s hand, Adam turned to Amelia.
“So, what’s your treatment plan? What exactly do I need to do to help your father start recovering?”
“First, his Evolution Tree. ” Amelia gave her instructions. “If you can connect the energy flows in at least a few parts, that alone will significantly slow the energy loss, which means it will extend the time my father can hold on.”
She glanced at Vador before continuing:
“If you can fully restore my father’s Evolution Tree, then at that stage he’ll already be able to start recovering. Energy will no longer leak from his inner space.
“However, that won’t be enough, right?”
“Indeed.” Amelia nodded deeply, her expression somber. “Even if his Evolution Tree is fully restored, as long as the Spirit of Eternal Winter remains shattered, his condition will continue to worsen.”
“Got it. First, I need to restore his Evolution Tree, like stopping active bleeding, and then do the same with the Legacy Artifact, which will slowly kill him if nothing is done.”
At that moment, a smile appeared on Amelia’s face. She was glad that Adam was taking her father’s treatment seriously.
“But even if I understand our goal, what do you mean by saying I should use my thread and needle?”
“Gha…” Romara sighed. “Look, boy, she believes you can use the fading energy flows from Vador’s Evolution Tree and your needle to bind them together, and your threads will provide additional support.”
Adam’s eyes widened for a moment as he finally realized what Amelia expected of him.
“You want me to act like a surgeon?”
“Pretty much, yes.” Her tone was deep. “Please try. I don’t expect you to get it right the first time, but right now we’re just wasting our precious time.”
“Right.”
Adam didn’t argue. In fact, they’d wasted quite a bit of time explaining the Legacy Artifacts and other things to Adam. He understood that Amelia had done this for his sake, even though her dying father was right in front of her.
Tap.
Adam touched Vador’s hand as he directed an energy pulse forward. This time he didn’t need Amelia’s help; he understood how it had to be done.
The next moment, when Adam opened his eyes, he saw the shattered Evolution Tree again, dozens of parts, losing energy, floating in the void. At the same time, the white flows rushed past, gradually dissipating into nothingness and bringing Vador’s end closer.
“Alright, I need to choose something simple to start with, right?”
Adam’s gaze swept across the space as he leaped forward.
Soon, he stopped in front of two tree parts. Not only were they among the smallest, but they were also close to each other.
If Adam wanted to join the tree parts, he first needed to check whether he could do it, which meant he had to test it on something simple.
Adam understood the idea. Amelia wanted him to join the tree parts together just as a surgeon would if he needed to reattach a severed arm to the body.
Whooooosh.
A needle appeared in Adam’s hand, but… he immediately realized what the problem was.
“Damn.”
Adam stared at his needle, which had long since come to resemble a black sword with a wide, sharp blade.
“How am I supposed to use this to join the tree parts together?”
Adam had no idea. He needed to somehow make his needle smaller and change its shape, but he couldn’t do it at will. It always happened as his ability evolved.
Tremble! Tremble!
Suddenly, space trembled as the Silver Weaver and Lone Blaze appeared beside Adam.
“Hello, looks like you need some help with your own abilities, huh?” The Silver Weaver chuckled.
Lone Blaze smiled. “We figured out Amelia’s plan and came to help. We’re going to create something new.”
“Great, but what about Lakma? Is she okay?” Adam glanced at the Silver Weaver.
He shrugged with a relaxed expression.
“She’s busy. She’s not ready for such important matters.”
“I see…”
Adam sighed as he pressed the needle against his chest.
“Then it’s time to get to work.”
